I read MTO every day but I needed to post today. This has to be this ladies child because she really wants her azz beat if it it someone else child. My daughter goes to daycare five days out the week and I would go to jail if I found out this occurred. If my child is too much to handle, call me and I will handle it...I went 9 months to carry this child and I will be *** if you beat him/her like she is your own. This daycare needs to be located and charges definitely need to be filed.

It is not the job of your caretaker to discipline your kids, whether you choose to whoop them or not. This is not about 'spare the rod, spoil the child'. This is about you leaving your child in the hands of someone who is supposed to be a professional, and having that person lose control on your child. Cause that's what it was. cutenkinky, I feel for you speaking up on injustices but also, you have to make sure your perception of child abuse does not interfere with a parent's right to raise their children. While that is abusive for that woman to do that to that child, I find it a parent's right to do it, especially it being a child's buttocks. It feels the least amount of pain when spanked. I have seen children spanked in front of me and it's nothing. But what I don't like is when they curse and demean a child. That's abusive. Spanking, a parent's right.
I understand the issue at hand. My point was we don't know the situation! The parent could have given the center permission to discipline the child we just don't know. I used to work and day care as a teenager and Its a shame but that happens in almost EVERY daycare around the world. Them badass little gremlins dont respect them workers. They know they can't do nothin so they test the fcuk out of their nerves. But this is still taking it too far. She needed a cigarette break BAD!!!

You should NEVER whoop a child when you are as angry as that woman was, is what I said. The reason being, you don't know your own strength when you're angry and you could get carried away. Same reason why you should only whoop a child with your hand so that you can feel the intensity of your blows. I won't speak on what your parents did or didn't do but that lady was wrong.

This arguement about being in control is without merit unless you are intentionally trying to physically abuse your child or children. Admittingly so some people go way over board and they should be dealth with. However to be at someone else's perception as to how much is to much is well TO MUCH! I worked at a New Horizon Childcare while I was in college, my daughter also went there. There was an employee that worked with the preschoolers and she would yell at the kids at the top of her lungs and *** the out of their seats. I complained and nothing was done. I have seen some very bad things at child cares, but I think most people don't see it cause they just run in and out.
Parents, hang out at the childcare, maybe next time don't rush your kid to finish what their doing and look around, you might be surprised.

I work in daycare...and even if the child is acting up corporate punishment is not allowed. However, if the parent decides to spank the child at the center then its okay. There is nothing in this video that tells me that this is a daycare worker spanking this child. It could be the parent. And even though the woman has on scrubs like most daycare workers...we have plenty of parents that are nurses, dental assistants, and daycare workers themselves...so they would be there in uniform as well. There is nothing wrong with daycare. It is no more unsafe than sending your child to school. Most are good, but the bad ones are the ones we hear about in the news. And MTO why are you needing to find out more info on this agency? I would hope whoever filmed this called the authorities. I can understand the person taking the video footage getting the goods on camera, but also, why did she continue to watch it? I would maybe have someone else record it and I would then step in to help the poor child! It's a shame and I hate to say it, but I believe this goes on all the time at some of these daycares. There is only one daycare provider that I trust. She took care of my eleven year old son, my four year old daughter right now and my daughter that is on the way. If she doesn't have any opening when my new born is born I will stay home until she does. I just don't trust people with my children. Doctors visits, dentist you name it where they go I or my husband go.
You can't trust no one with your babies. I had to take my son out of day care last year cause when I went to pick him up he had a swollen eye and his nose was all black and blue. When I got in their face and told them to tell me what happened they denied anything. They told me "no he's fine he came in like that, this has nothing to do with us." wtf do you mean he came in like that? You think if i gave my son a black and blue nose I would take him to a daycare. My *** would have gotten arrested. Nobody called me to tell me he got hurt, I have no idea how long he sat there like that, I don't even know what happened. Everyone that's complaining about the treatment of children has an option in almost every area to put their child in a daycare with video cameras(most hooked up to the internet) but don't want to spend the money. I was really addressing the comments from people who think daycares are bad... My point was that we can't automatically assume that the woman in the video was a daycare worker and not a parent. Now I've seen instances where parents have disciplined their child at the daycare depending on the situation but we would never allow it in front of other children. I have disciplined my own child (not spanking because it's never really had to go that far) but there are children who kick and bite and abuse teachers so some parents have felt it necessary to spank them there. I am just slow to judge the situation on this tape because there is so little information to go by...the video is poor quality (via camera phone) and we have no idea what happened before or after or even the relationship between the child and the woman.
Normally I only view, I never have signed in until today. Although this video is very disturbing I had to comment on what another blogger by the name of "MrBumpcap". Although you may not care but I took great offense to your racist comment, a abusive mother does not have a color and how dare you insinuate that black mother's abuse their children! @ jlove56 - yes I've seen children get spankings, but there is a fine line - that child looked to be 1 or 2 - and I counted at least 20 times she hit the baby before the baby fell down on it's head. Look close and listen to the baby's reaction and you'll realize that was not a spanking - but overkill and definitely child abuse.
We don't know if this female didn't send this video to the police so we need not to judge. Now, she should be fired and never allowed to work with kids again, but put in jail is a little to much. I agree it happens all the time, I came into my son's preschool way back when he was a child, this worker pretended she didnt know and make a child walk into one of the pillows that holds up the roof,when the parents came to pick the child up she was the most gracious host towards the mother and the father, so when you see people showing off a good face be careful they are hiding something, you always know the geniune ones of course. If you cant take the pressure with the kids please dont take the job just for the paycheck, you have to treat children right.
another way to combat this abuse is parents or guardians have to drop in unanounced to see what is going on, if you cant drop in to your child's daycare without notice something is wrong, but the parent of this child should sue the entire daycare and also the workers who let this go on for so long. These are people's precious children what is she thinking, hard and sad thing is it goes on everyday, not in every daycare but many.

Mybusiness2008 This message is for Nails..........I'm old school too and I don't remember my mom flipping me and dropping me on my head....that was too extreme for a 2 or 3 year old....she is still a baby so why would anyone in their right mind want to do a defenseless child like that....people need to check themselves before they wreck themselves....if this chick is still at that daycare I would be very upset. But we also have to realize that CPS don't always make the right decision on removing kids or *** down a daycare.....EVERYONE WHO LIVES NEAR THIS DAYCARE IN TEXAS SHOULD BOYCOTT THAT DAYCARE UNTIL IT IS CLOSED OR THEY HAVE BETTER STAFF...TRUST THEY TRYING TO GET THEIR STORY RIGHT.....THEY DON'T CARE ABOUT THOSE KIDS THEY JUST WANT A PAYCHECK....they don't realize that they have to care about what they do and the well being of the children.....and what about the owner, where are they and what are they going to do about this person working for them.....will they care enough about the kids and let her go....or is that your homegirl and you got her back....you know that GHETTO [EXPLETIVE].....makes me sick....MY BLACK PEOPLE......

TO THE COMMENT ABOVE ME. 1ST OF ALL THAT'S NOT HER CHILD SHE HAS NO RIGHT BEATING SOME ONE ELSE'S CHILD LIKE THAT REGARDLESS OF WHAT THEY DID. The person that took this video knows very well who the lady is that committed this horrible act on that poor kid. So if that person was really concerned they would have turned if over to the authorities and not to MTO...
