Let's look at this statement. A woman who 'holds down' a jailbird has a lack of respect for herself. Although this man is jailed, he knows that b/c he wouldn't do the same if the tables were turned. Their mothers probably held down their sorry, never there fathers while in jail instead of striving harder to provide a better life for their kids. If/when they get a lot of money, they want a woman who won't accept that type of treatment, and it tends to choose the opposite of what he grew up surrounded by, black women. Yes we're known for being strong, but in my opinion, being strong isn't having loyalty for the jailed man while pushing away the advances of the real man. We have to see more than a picture here and think outside of the box.
