: MediaTakeOut.com just got wind of an interesting report. According to one of the Weekly tabloids, Nelly is prepared to PROPOSE to his on-and-off girlfriend Ashanti. But, according to the report, there's one problem - ASHANTI'S MOM.
Here's how its being reported:
"[Ashanti's mother] Tina sticks her nose in everything because she's also Ashanti's manager," a source tells Star. "She's always pushing Ashanti to make more money, to always look great. It stresses her out and Nelly doesn't like that."Ashanti ... our advice to you - never dump family for some man. Especially one who enjoys strip clubs as frequently as Nelly.The rapper, 34, has tried to encourage Ashanti, 28, to become more independent, but "Tina has such a strong personality that she's kind of afraid of her."

I understand you have to be your own woman, but your mother is going to always be there when your man isn't. You should be able to tell your mother how you feel and she should understand. Sometimes mothers can be pushy, but most mothers are out for your best interest at heart. Hopefully, they can find a medium and still get her ring.

Nelly are Ashanti are C-List celebs...trust Ashanti has paper, just because you don't see her everywhere doesn't mean anything....she's a ghost writer for other artist in the business and she's also a producer and director......trust she's getting paid and way more than actual singers, FYI singers really don't get paid that much, it's the tours they get paid off of. Nelly has paper too...apple bottoms and he's the part owner of a football team...so I say do your research before you judge.
her mother reminds me of new yorks mother. I was watchng something on VH1 and she is so overbearing maybe it is good for Ashanti to stand up to her. As a manager she is not doing the best because Ashanti's career is not stellar and as a mother she should know when to step back and let her make her own decision. Nelly didn't say to dump her mother all together he just wants to know that she can stand on her own two. Personally I think that it is a wise choice.
WOW...I don't believe this is true, Ashanti has a strong mind and she's very intelligent. She does everything herself anyway......Can't say the same about other female artist ( Rhianna, Beyonce, Ciara...)etc. At least she produces, writes, and control her own destiny. She's a great person and I believe she is one of the best songwriter and inspirational person to ever exist. If people would get to know her and listen and consume the information she represents instead of hearing what she has to say maybe this world would be a better place.

People always say celebrities are broke when you don't see them everywhere. Or if their Cd didn't do as well. They have other things they are doing to bring in money............................ Ashanti is competing with herself not anyone else.....Beyonce is nothing, Rhianna is nothing, Ashanti is a really great actor, and she can really sing, she's a great writer, trust she's not hurting for nothing. I love me some Ashanti cause she always keeps it real no matter what. But yes if this is true which I doubt because Ashanti is a strong person and very intellectual, but I guess when it comes to mom it's different, she needs to check her moms for real and let her know what's up.
