: A few weeks ago MediaTakeOut.com told you that Obama’s people were trying to get actress/singer Jennifer Hudson to sing at his inauguration. And would you believe that some of y’all ain’t believe us.
Well check out what the NY Post is reporting today:
OSCAR winner and former "American Idol" star Jennifer Hudson hasn't been able to perform since her mother, sister and nephew were brutally murdered in October - but sources say she may be summoning up the strength for President-elect Barack Obama. "Organizers want Jennifer to sing 'The Star-Spangled Banner' at the Inauguration on Jan. 20," our source said.Somebody owes us an apology…."They are talking to Jennifer about it. It would be the first time she performed since the murders. She is from Chicago and a huge Obama supporter." Hudson sang the national anthem at the Democratic National Convention in Denver in August. Her rep didn't return calls.

an event of this magnitude calls for a singer who is known for SINGING...I LOVE Beyonce, so don't get this wrong. But the skin showing, the booty shaking,...there's a time and place for 'those' type of artists. This election has held black people under a microscope and has us being 'picked apart' more than any other time I know of (during my lifetime). I really don't want to hear 'white america' criticize January 20th's ceremony in anyway. Barack can't please us all...but I would love to be reminded of the historical class behind Presidential events, and not the B.E.T. music awards. ALL DA SINGOE' LADIES! i hope that she can muster up the strength and will power to sing! she is such a power house vocalist and i think it would be a great tribute and honor to her slain family if she did sing...may even aid in her healing process more. often times the best medicine to healing is going back to what you stopped doing once death has occured.

This is a good look for the inauguration. Jennifer Hudson is the epitome of a REAL BLACK sister who exudes class, confidence, grace, modesty, and respect. Such characteristics define a real woman. She has a powerful and beautiful voice and I respect her natural talents. She proves that real talent is all a singer needs to be respected. Never has she sold her soul and became a video vixen/skank/*** clothed/soft-core porn performance act. I got nothing but love for her and hope she's strong enough to show up. A lost of three family members is a tragedy so I hope she's prepared for it. If not I still respect her need for privacy. But if it's true I will be OVERJOYED if she decided to perform.
