: LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - The 20-year-old son of veteran rapper Dr. Dre died in August from an overdose of heroin and morphine, the Los Angeles County coroner's office said on Friday.
Andre Young Jr was found dead by his mother at his Los Angeles home after spending a night out with friends.
After toxicology and other tests, the coroner ruled his death as accidental and says the case is closed, spokesman Larry Dietz said on Friday.
Dietz said the tests showed Young died of morphine and heroin intoxication.
Dr. Dre, 43, whose real name is Andre Young, rose to stardom in the 1980s as a member of the "gangsta" rap group N.W.A. He embarked on a successful solo career, winning the first of four Grammys in 1994 for a tune from his chart-topping debut "The Chronic."
He founded the rap labels Death Row Records and Aftermath Entertainment, and made stars out of such proteges as Snoop Dogg and Eminem.
At the time of his son's death, Dr. Dre issued a statement asking for respect and privacy.

I get where your coming from but he is not the one who was rapping about it, his father was. I still don't think we should say a well f_ck that person because of what they rapped about.
Lil Wayne is not a good example because he actually is an true addict.

If kids have wealth, but no guidance, this kind of thing will ALWAYS happen!....The Parents get so caught up in their own lives they forget that they still need to be parents...But then again if kids want to be evasive about their lives they will be.It's truly sad that he turned to drugs as a mean of escaping.In Cases like this,Sorrow is the touch God gives you to say wake up!

This is unfortunate. BUT there is no accident in mixing heroin AND morphine. All I could think was ***.
Now, I twisted a couple of joints in high school, I wasn't perfect. But this type of drug use indicates to me that there were two parents who simply paid no attention to their kid. Use of these drugs have obvious tell tale signs.

Heroin is easily snorted. And of course black people also smoke and inject it! Funny how people are passing the buck on this 20yr old's actions onto another race, or the parents.
The details were, if anyone recalls, that he was out partying, came home, went to bed, and when his mom went to wake him, he was dead. They initially thought it was possibly alcohol overdose.
So imagine now....you're his mom, you hear your son come home safe, and you rest assured all is ok. Yet, he wasn't. I feel so bad for Dre and the kid's mom.

This is sad news or sure!!! but It seems like alot of these celebrity kids are always into drugs. They make their kids think this *** is cool. The rappers have their kids hanging around the studio @ 14, They see dad and friend drinking, smoking blunts and expect their kid not to go that route! come on! Kids are impressible. Kids are going do what they want to do, but you don't have put your stamp of approval on it.
