Anyhow, MediaTakeOut.com heard that over the past week the drama between the two ladies was ratcheting up. And it ended up with Mary getting Keyshia BANNED from singing at this weekend’s BET Honors celebration.

There was drama behind a tribute to Blige. Word is that producers had planned to have Keyshia Cole sing one of Blige’s songs, but Blige’s manager/husband Kendu Isaac would hear none of it.“He thought there was already too much comparison between Keyshia and Mary,” a spy tells us. “They were going back and forth on it all week. It got ugly.”

Mary is reaching her middle age years, shes probably feeling insecure and doesnt want anyone to take her place as the queen of hip hop soul. Keyshia Cole doesnt have the best voice, but neither does Mary. Mary even said it a few times. its the lyrics and passion in their voices that attract people to listen to them. Keyshia is the Mary J for the younger generation. dont no 19, 20 year old girl wanna listen to 40 year old Mary, when they can listen to a girl who is closer to their age who has been though what theyve been through. Mary is from my generation, Im 32 years old. but Keyshia is bringing that new flavor for the younger girls. its time to pass the crown down. If you pay attention to when Keyshia first came out I think she was copying FAITH and NOT Mary.
Mary and Faith both had the Bad Boy sound so its easy to compare them.
Keyshia came out with the red hair and blond that wASNT Mary that was FAITH

Both Keyshia and Faith got them tattoos
Both write their own songs

Some of y'all talking like MJB is dirt old. Just because she been in the game for almost 20yrs doesn't mean she should retire. And how can u retire from singing? What' sad is that about 3 years ago they had a tribute to MJB in NYC & Keyshia was asked to sing one of Mary's songs. Well According to Keyshia she had a standing ovation & after the show Mary was trying to contact Keyshia but Keyshia unintentionally gave her the cold shoulder. But the next *** MJB summoned for Keyisha while they were at a dinner and told Keyshia she did a great job.

It's a crying shame! Mary has established her career and fan base. Why would she hate on Keisha? Because she is getting old and there is a new crop of listeners who are gathering around and supporting Keisha. It is also her show which has helped to increase her fan base. Now, in the real world, she probably would not care about Keisha coming up, but folks, this is the ENTERTAINMENT BUSINESS and I am here to tell you that there can be so much politics and backstabbing going on that you would not believe or imagine. The two women probably delight in each other's talents and gifts, but this "here" is BIDNESS, and it sounds selfish and even childish, but Mary's husband/manager's job is to try and exert whatever muscle he can to avoid competition with any other females in the business.

Ive been there with Mary from the start of her career, but Im not feelin her new material. she made a career out of singing songs that deal with heart ache and struggle. then she comes out with that wack *** song-Im fine, fine, fine, fine, fine, fine-ooo ooooh. really? that song sounded like Michael Jacksons-Dont Stop Til You Get Enough-her songs just dont cut through me the same way they used to. its not because shes happier and sings about more positive things, Im just not feeling the material theyre giving her to sing. I've seen Honor singers that haven't represented the Artist very well b4...I think Kendu THINKS that Keyshia will not do such a good job with the performance...I like Keyshia,but she has botched up a couple of her "LIVE" performances...she has, let's be real about it. it seems she can't sing ballards that weren't written especially for her. i am a fan of Mary. She can sing and dance better than keyshia cole.Keyshia just started to learn how to hold a note and not to mention to dance. Mary has been doing her thing from the beginning. Monica did her song song justice. Why would Mary or Kendu have keyshia sing a tribute to her when keyshia was talking stuff about mary in the beginning of her career. Records speak for themself, Keyshia album sold 136,000 copies thats a shame she should keep her mouth ***.
