And Remember when US WEEKLY (See here) and MTV News (see here) and just about every other major urban news source said that we were lying.
Well on Monday, Mashonda went on Angela Yee’s Lip Service Sirius Sattelite radio show and confirmed that Alicia Keys and Swizz Beatz had a relationship during her marriage with Swizz’. (See here)
Now we could sit here and just say that we told you so – and keep it moving like always. But we figured it was time for us to extend an olive branch to all of the media – especially urban media.
So many folk in urban media think it’s OK to steal MediaTakeOut.com’s content – without attribution. And the only time that they ever attribute anything to us is when you think we’re wrong (which is becoming FAR less frequent, as I’m sure you’ve noticed).
Well, let’s look now at the facts. Over the last three years MediaTakeout.com has become the most popular, most visited and most influential urban website on the planet. That didn’t come by luck. It came because we work our AZZES OFF reporting ORIGINAL stories and coming up with new and innovative ideas to make the site more interesting and fun than ANY OTHER in this genre.
So to all you urban media folks that think its OK to just steal from hard working Black folk trying to make something out of nothing – go ahead. But remember this, we ain’t linking to ANY of your content, we’re not gonna put your boss ON BLAST when you get laid off (which in this environment, is likely), and we’re NOT going to accept your resume now … or EVER.

Not that this is anybody’s business, but we really don’t know what was going on behind the scenes. The estranged wife is the only person talking about this so we are only hearing one-sided testimony. It sounds like the wife is obviously angry and devastated by the failure of their marriage. Unfortunately she is not handling it too well and instead of focusing on the little ones and moving on she chooses to direct the pain and blame at Alicia. If she is speaking to the press to get Swizz back, she is using a wrong approach. It annoys me when women solely blame other women for the demise of their relationships instead of taking a look at themselves first. If a man is not appreciative and respectful of her feelings, treats her like a doormat, and/or has done things to disappoint her before, why be surprised when he does something even more bogus like cheating? Also sometimes it is a woman’s bad attitude, jealousy and spinelessness that can enable their man to do them wrong. I would hope that AK would have more class than to knowingly get involved with a man, who is still married, but then again we don’t know what Swizz was telling Alicia or if they were more than just FRIENDS. Alicia is supposed to be *** – remember?

there is nothing that ruffles my feathers like infedelity. although i've never been cheated on,i think that this is the most painful,heartbreaking,life-changing event any woman can endure in a relationship. i can't even imagine the depth of anger i'd feel upon discovering that my husband was being unfaithful to me. if this is really true,then the news will not be very advantageous for alicia. this will affect her career immensely. an apology to mashonda is not out of the question,either. infedelity is ruining our homes and our children. when someone makes the decision to be unfaithful it not only hurts the spouse,it hurts the children as well. this is so sad.
