In the below link, Etta puts Beyonce on Blast. Here's what she says:

Etta is kind of crazy to see that "Obama is NOT her president" - I don't agree with that comment, but as far as what she said about Beyonce, Etta is right.
I'm guessing she made the comment about Obama because she was angry that he got Beyonce to sing her song.

Let me set spme things straight for everybody:
1) I agree with AntiDumb 100% on this post. Bey used that woman for her come-up and now she is supposed to sit doen and be quiet while Beyonce' accepts credit for that song like she wrote it? PLEASE!! And Etta has had a mouth on her for a VERY LONG TIME- the fact that she got through this audio clip posted without cursing is what shocks me more.
2) The audio clip posted by MTO IS A REAL CLIP. That IS Etta. Most of ya'll on here are too into Lil Wayne/Rick Ross/Rihanna/50 to know Etta, but all you have to do is YouTube some old videos of her. Etta has always sounded like that and always will. I'll bet my rent check that is Etta's voice on that clip (and about 30 other major news outlets are reporting this same story.)
3) The clip contained at: [link to external website removed] is of a young man IMITATING the Etta James clip. He is not a drag-queen. He may be ***, sure. But he makes videos spoofing other hot news topics several times a week. He is not the dude in the actual audio clip. For once, MTO is not lying- "At Last," they have a reputable story (pun intended.)
4) I agree with Etta. Etta is old school. She says what the hell is on her mind and she is not out of it for doing so. That song has been known for DECADES as "Etta's song." Beyonce' should've extended the common courtesy and at least gotten permission from Etta to perform it at the ceremonies. Hell- she could've asked Etta to do it instead, she could've asked Etta to duet, a real woman would've bought Etta (instead of her expletive-laden song singing husband) along as her guest. But BEYONCE' wanted all the shine. She wanted all the attention, and that is probably the only song in Bey's repertoire that is "classy" enough to sing for the ceremonies. (Now what does that say about the typre of music Bey herself makes?) And personally- Christina aguilera sang that song years ago at a record exec showcase- thats actually how she got her deal. And Christina makes Beyonce' sound like a dying dog when she sings it (YouTube it and tell me I'm lying.)
Point blank: I side with Etta. The way it was carried out was disrespectful, ungrateful, and opportunistic. THAT'S WHY BEY WAS SUPPOSED TO KEEP THE PERFORMANCE A SECRET. It was supposed to look like it was some sort of a "surprise" appearance, and technically, it was. SURPRISE! They added Bey's song to the bill in the 11th hour.
Don't believe me? Email your local congressman, get the address of the inaugural committee, and ask how can a fee be negotiated to sing at one of the president's events. You'll be SHOCKED at how cheap it is.

Many people at that concert said that they were disappointed by Etta's actions. It was one person who said it was very few black people at the concert. And they were embarrassed that Etta would be talking about Barack and Beyonce like that. The person went on to comment that Beyonce did a wonderful job at the inauguration and didn't deserved to be attacked like this. Also, people were complaining about how Etta was grabbing her crotch and doing other lewd actions. Etta has been known to do really sexually graphic things on stage throughout her whole career. Maybe that's one reason the Obamas would never asked her to perform. Her statements right here show that she's mental. Yes others will sing it and put their spin on it but majority of the time the orginal is better. I've heard both versions and etta's is better many times better I want all these new artist and their fans to realize that they need to CREATE their OWN CLASSICS.

The producer couldn't even deal with her, he had a heart attack after they had a fight and died on the spot. As a black person, I am appalled that she would even openly bash our president like that. Even if she felt that way about her song (fyi - that is not even her original song)she should have talked to Beyonce about it.
