Braids; BLACK PEOPLE has been and will always be OUR heritage. Rocking your own hair with different patterns in the braiding is beautiful. MARIAH LOOKS HOT. That's all. I always thought my hair was coarse and "hard" till my friend from Shenzen, visited me. When she felt my hair she exclaimed in Chinese and called her husband over. I don;t know what they said but he came and felt my hair and said; " nice very soft." So I was like, "no Chang its coarse". And my friend Lindan said: no alexia is very soft like cotton, mine is coarse feel and tell me. And for the life of me I couldn't understand why she said my hair is soft. Cause i grew up thinking i have coarse, "nappy hair". Just something I wanted to share with you guys. I still rock my natural hair even whilst I was in Med school. I cycle, play with kids, eat ice cream on cones etc. And I'm 26. Live, love, Serve Yahweh and enjoy life people.
Cute. I like Mariah. She looks great but I hate to say it,,she seems like she is desperate to portray an image that she thinks is marketable. Well she is 38, not quite 40, so she is still somewhat young. I keep hearing people say she is a quarter black, she is a little bit over a quarter. Her father was only like a quarter mixed himself she said, which is typical of most Black Americans. Her father's father was Hispanic, but he was also half black hispanic (black), and spanish hispanic (white). To me, because she is mixed, does not mean she does not identify with black people. Even though she say she is mixed, I think in reality, in America, she indetify socially more with blacks, but she has the privilege of a white person as well.

And also, she is part African-American. Her grandmother was from Alabama, she migrated to Harlem, married her Afro-biracial Venezuelean (Christina Milian type of black hispanic mixed) grandfather, and that his is her father's roots.
