You could hear it in her. You could hear the rises and vocal range she had. She was still good back then, nervousness does things to your vocie. I'm certainly not a hater, and she STILL sounded wonderful!!! Some poeple can't even hit those ranges!!! Look what you came to be Lauryn!!! NEVER MIND THE HATIN!!!
When I said Jazmine Sullivan was bringing something new I meant real singing, as opposed to Beyonce's rump shaking & Ciara's dancing & non-singing. They and most female r&b artists, are very glam. Almost too much;like the average woman does not look like that, and it makes them unrelatable. Also, in my opinion Ciara is more of a dancer anyway.
If Lauryn was still in the game today a lot of these artist wouldn't even come close to topping this chick. She was one of the best vocalists and female rappers in the game. I was just watching Sister Act 2 the other day, that is one of my favortie movies just because Lauryn was in it.

People will always try to put you down but no matther HOW HARD THEY TRY and trust me, just about everyone around you and then some will try, you gotta have that determination and keep going. Keep the haters at bay because at the end of the day they aint going to be the ones putting money in your pocket!
Wow, I remember I used to sound like that when I first started singing. I had that sheep thing going on and didn't know jack ish about pitch! She was just singing without any vocal lessons. As I grew older I learned to control my vocal cords better and I'm sure this is the case with Lauryn as well. I truely miss this sister and I hope she pulls a Brittney soon and comes out of this funk......
