Hey, Janet stepped out, tried a few new things. The results musically really weren't bad. Some audiences aren't able to grow and listen with an open mind. That is fact with many fans of artists. That being said, it IS refreshing and exciting to hear that Janet has reunited with her hit squad.
I guess a good lesson can be learned if all of this is true. Personal relationships should remain separate from creative business relationships.
She could never really sing anyway. She was a Jackson, pretty and could dance. The dances made her music not her voice. I am not missing her! Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis are still trapped in the 90's, I doubt if they can help themselves, let alone her! I'm a huge Janet fan but there's nothing Jimmy and Terry can do especially since they haven't had a hit in years. Everyone knows Janet is a dance artist first then a singer and once you reach a certain age(like it or not), young people don't want to see or buy your music UNLESS YOU'RE MADONNA lol. Her record label does not believe in her enough to put out singles from her projects even though there have been some good ones on her last three Cd's. If no one hears them, the Cd won't sell. Period. Very soon, the only way for her to put out a Cd will be for her to go independent and she should not stoop to that level. I hope I'm wrong but I believe her time has passed and it pains me to write that. At this point, she should make her money and concentrate on acting.
Anyone who knows Jimmy and Terry will KNOW they've been deep in the studio daily working with top notch pop artists, composing NBA themes for the NBA league & film soundtracks for the motion picture industry, amongst many ventures! In addition, Jimmy Jam is the Chairman of The Recording Academy (The Grammys) as well! Janet's return to the legendary Grammy-winning duo will only solidify her mark where she truly belongs, with a strong fan base to boot! THE DYNAMIC TRIO RETURNS!!!!!!!!

Mariah is almost just as old as Janet so I don't think her age is the problem. Mariah has also worked with JD more than once and has had great success with her albums so I don't think JD is the problem either. I think Janet hasn't found a new sound for her old fans and new ones. Times are changing, the sound of music is changing and we want to hear something new. Going back to old producers may not be a good idea. She should try some new producers and mix it up. She and Mariah coould also learn something from Mary J. as far as growing with age. They need to put some more clothes on and stop thinking skanky tight ish is for everyone. Leave that booty shaking to Rihanna and Beyonce.
