: Racists are not only ignorant – they’re stupid too. MediaTakeOut.com just learned that the mayor of Los Alamitos, California - Mayor Dean Grose is a RACIST and an IDIOT.
Apparently Mayor Grose thought it would be funny to send out a racist Obama email to local businesspeople. Too bad, he didn’t realize that one of the people he sent the message to was African American - Keyanus Price.
Here’s how it’s being reported:
"I was horrified when I read that e-mail," Price said. "What I'm concerned about is how can this person send an e-mail out like this and think it is OK?"What a lame azz apologyBeing a public official, Price said, made the matter worse.
"He's putting the city into a bad place, and he is a liability," Price wrote in an e-mail. --------------------------------------------------------- Mayor Dean Grose's apology letter to the City Council, Price and her boss I am deeply embarrassed in receiving your email, and for any harm or hurt that it may have caused. It was poor judgement on my part and was never intended to be offensive to Ms. Price, your company or anyone in the African American Community. I have exchanged emails with Ms. Price in the past.
I can fully understand your concerns and comments. Please be advised that I have left a voice mail for Ms. Price and will also be sending her a separate email with my apology. You can be assured that I will not allow this to happen again. I in no way was representing the City of Los Alamitos, or my role as a council member in sending this out and it went via my private business email. That doesn't justify the fact that it was sent, however, we gratefully appreciate the contributions that your company makes to our community and I wish to publically apologize to anyone within the firm or organization that may have been offended.

People of all races should think twice whenever they're about to laugh at a racist joke or make light of a generalized racial stereotype.It is up to us as individuals to not tolerate any racism of any kind. You would be surprised at how a comment or gesture may have an entire race in an uproar. You may have thought it was funny...but others may not....we can change the world...one person at a time
We should try reverse psychology on these racist idiots. Let's let them know that we love watermelon and we have no problem eating it. If we continue to laugh at these sad racial attempts at hurting our feelings, we should act as if there is no problem. For instance, some of you who live in Boston should have went to that racist man's bakery and told him you wanted some "drunken negro cookies" because the cookies look so delicious. We're going to have to pick our battles with getting mad at everyone who makes a racist comment or joke about President Obama, because there will be too many to count. As a publicly elected official, this "mayor" was way out of line, but he probably thought it was a funny joke. Presidents are fodder for humor, and since Obama is pretty perfect, there's nothing to make fun of about, so they go for race.
It kills me that people want this guy fired and are outraged about a stupid e-mail, but still nobody has shown much outrage about Chris Brown beating a young woman who was supposedly his girlfriend... they are still "wishing them the best" or not commenting because they don't know the facts. Is there ANYTHING that she could have done to deserve a beat down? I don't think so, but people act like she must have done something to deserve it. Heaven forbid somebody makes a dumb racial joke, everyone's out for blood; but when true violence happens within our own community, you don't hear anything but crickets chirping.

So what if he apologized, that does not change the fact that the mayor of a major city in the U.S. is a RACIST! I don't really have an issue with racist people, I could care less what they think about me because I know who I am and what I am capable of, I am a proud woman of color. However, I do have a problem when racist ideas,or attitudes affect hiring practices and other civil rights issues.
A racist has no business being in public office, I have an M.A. in Public Administration so I can assure you that the ethical implications for a man in his position being a bigot are numerous. It affects the police department, public funding, schools, etc. I would say that the city has a big problem.

As someone form a multi-cultural background myself, I am here to inform you that you are who people perceive you to be, in regards to race. Despite my diverse background I look Black (and I am *** proud of it), ignorant white people only see two shades, Black and white. So Obama, had to deal with the same adversities that any other Black man had to deal with. Lets not forget that he is married to a Black woman and has two Black daughters.

With the history of race relations in this country, unfortunately nothing is just a joke. Some things have changed, but racist still exist, unfortunately they don't walk around with a scarlet "R" on their chest. Despite, the Obama win, Black men are still being profiled and Black schools are still in horrible shape. We still have a long way to go.
