And it’s not just new artists either. MediaTakeOut.com just caught wind that Jigga’s first artist is R&B singer Brandy Norwood. Brandy had been managed for most of her career by her mother Sonya Norwood. It’s not clear whether Jigga’s “management” deal with Brandy will be exclusive – or whether Sonya will stay on as a co-manager.

I think that's great especially for her because she has poor management. I think Jay Z can revive her after seeing what he did with Rihanna, I believe he can do it. Brandy messed up when she left her initial management after her break up. It was downhill from there but I say go for it. She's a great talent and to be honest, Aaliyah isn't here anymore and i'm sick of hearing the same R&B voices all of the time. The radio despersately needs a new voice. Geez. And where the heck is fergie and Gwen? Even they took a break.
Brandy has made some of the best songs. She has classic album, especially Never Say Never. The society of the music game today has a love them then leave them mentality. They turn their backs on great artist and shove these fly by *** artist down our throats. There's no more longevity,it's all about what's hot at this second. They better make a change for the better before the music fades to black.

brandys a talented artist her most crucial thing that runined the human album was song selection, human is a great album but a few more up tempo songs would have been better, all the unreleased material was bangers and just dont know why some of them did not make the cut, i know b can make a come back because her songs are fire and she has got the best voice out there

Huuuuh Naaaah Kanye is on top mainly cause of his own hard work....dude was a good producer and wanted to rap and Jay didn't even wanna sign that *** and Dawged Kanye......Neyo pretty much hustled on his own too, only person he really helped out was Rihanna and that's mostly cause the label been pushing her album for the past 2 years......
I'm not saying I agree with this trend but talent means nothing anymore and lets face it, Brandy ain't high yella, she aint got no shape, her weaves don't go with her face, she just ain't one of the pretty girls who can make it off their looks. She's not an Ashanti, Beyonce, Rihanna, Aaliyah (RIP),or even a Ciara.
But what Brandy does have going for her is longevity. She's one of the original R&B Princesses, really the first to make a splash since the early days of Whitney Houston, so I will be happy to see her come back with some hits and really get her crown back.

Brandy's on the list of the top 25 child stars of all time. I think she's the only black person on there. Jaleel White might be on there. But I'm not positive.
Rodney and Brandy made a classic album togeter, that people to bump this day in Never Say Never. Although Rodney had done other projects before that, Brandy gave his career and huge boost. He got so much press for that album, created a sound with her then gave it other artist he worked with. Of course, from his point, he found something that worked and went with it, from her point, she didn't appreciate it. They got back together for Human and he has some nice records on this, but I agree that there could've been better song selection. Rodney still has an amazing songwriter in LaShawn Daniels and he and his brother Fred also produce and writer so she really didn't need a Neyo to write for her. Aritst record over 40 songs(many times as much as 60) so the song selection probably should've been different. Now, for the next record, Neyo could get on it and other great songwriters and producers. She could still have Rodney on there though.

I'm glad that Brandy is trying to come back however if she does I for one will not be crediting Jay-Z for it.When will people realize that alot of these stars who claim to be buisness men and women really are'nt.Jay-z like all these other celebs/wanna be business men just have alot of intelligent people working for them.Jay-z did'nt discover Rhianna or Kanye he had some smart people working for him that put him on with Rhi and Ye and then he got all the credit for it while the people who actually did discover them are just happy to get paid.Quite simply Jay-z like many other artist most likely aint that bright. smart people work for him and tell him what moves to make and he does it and when it turns out to be a good business venture he gets to take the credit.Those smart people get paid to help him make money and they get paid more so he can pretend it was all his idea. --------------------------------
