I am all for adopting kids and giving them a home but what about the kids here in the good old USA? I am really sick and tired of these non black celebrities adotping black kids for photo and publicity. If you are really true to this please ensure that you have some black folks around them so they won't be walking around confused of who the hell they are. This is getting out of *** control

Im torn on this because I feel these white folks are getting themselves black children and placing them in their homes as if they are a new piece of furniture or something.
Whats with the wave of whites scooping up these African children all of a sudden and doing so so publicly??
However I also feel that it's great for the child(ren)in some ways because they will definitely have a better life, better educational opportunities, greater life span and everything else that comes from being apart of or born into a privileged lifestyle.
I just hope this is TRULY being done out of the goodness of their hearts.

This is such a fad. If it was about helping a black child, Madonna could of took her *** to Detroit, Compton, Oakland, New Orleans, DC, etc.

It is the white guilt. There maybe some genuine people out there looking to adopt kids, but I honsetly believe with celebrities it is to gain brownie points, especially with blacks to somehow make it better for what they have and are putting blacks through. I believe that people should adopt children of their own race. Besides, Madonna is not going raise the child, nannies and day care will. We have entered a new era where people are having children but there success and money is more important than the well being of the child, so children are spending endless amount of hours with nannies and in day care so there parents can maintain an image. If you are single and is financially struggling, day care is probbaly necessary. If that is not the case, children should not go a time when they do not have at least one parent present. Madonna is not married. If she was, she and her husband could arrange it where one person can stay home until the children are in school, one parent could work in the day and one at *** to avoid daycare and nannies. That is not going to happen, so she will be raised by other people than Madonna. Madonna will just reap the benefits.

Well everybody knows that African's have high morals and they have very strong beliefs and family values. @ bakachan I disagree, she might live comfortably but that doesn't mean she will be better off! Look at Madonna's past and her image. How could that be good for her? Vs. her being raised by somebody in her own country that could teach her that she has to work hard for everything she wants out of life and nothing will be handed to her. And about self respect and dignity and upholding your family name. And about God and having respected for elders and all that good stuff that comes like second nature in Africa!
@ladytee35, I agree. Adoption is a great Idea, but I just wonder about all the kids here, of all races, not just black. Alot of these kids never get adopted, are abused by the system and then when they turn 18, gotta figure out how to survive on their own. Its like for some reason this save the world attitude by adopting children from 3rd world countries is the way to go. I agree with everyone else that this kid is just another accessory for Madonna. I read that she didn't even go down to Malawi herself to visit the orphanage, she sent her assistants down there to "pick out" a baby. Her nannies do the majority of the work anyways, and Madonna trots the kids out for photo ops.
If she wanted to adopt a black child, there are hundreds of thousands right here in the good old USA that need a home.
Well, first of all, the black race has a deep issue more than any other race: black people don’t like black people, black people don’t stick together, black people don’t extend help to African natives unless they are linked to a particular network, organization, or relative(s). I am talking about Africans, African Americans, etc.. Black people are messed up and are in denial of their issues as a whole. It is this denial which prevents the black race from evolving and does not reflect what Martin Luther King nor Malcolm X constantly conveyed.
As far as I am concerned when black people can stop birthing life into traumatic experiences, then we can talk about childcare…but don’t be the cause of the problem and get mad at those who are positively effecting it
I say that it is more genuine when someone helps someone outside of their race. That makes this type of individual beyond racism. If you look at Jolie or Madonna (as examples, so be it) but saying white people are accessorizing the black race by adopting black babies is absolutely ignorant, unappreciative and fanatical. How can white folks adopting black children be a problem? If anything, they are contributing to world-repair. If blacks have a problem with another race helping their race, then why don’t they roll their *** sleeves up. The decision to adopt is not about color it’s about giving someone a better chance as well as a life-changing environment.
If anyone is thinking, “white people are accessorizing black babies!” you have a sickness and you are most likely not doing anything BUT talking and talking very ignorantly…if you represent yourself like that then you will feel all these words and get mad…but oh well! ‘cause black people are not adopting African babies…black people are not helping Africans and Africans are NOT helping African Americans.
I am not going to fault anyone who wants to take a child out of poverty and give it better opportunities and a better, more comfortable life. Its just a shame that they make adoption so difficult here in the US. Its easier and faster to adopt a child from overseas than it is to adopt one right here in the US, and a lot of poor kids here suffer for that. I know a few good, professional couples who tried to adopt US kids and after going through hoops for years finally gave up and went the overseas option.
You know what...stop trying to show up Angelina Jolie and take care of your own *** kids first instead of trolloping all over town with any man you can find to sleep with your old wrinkly azz.
If you really want to help, don't just help one child. Take your old azz to Africa like Aubrey Hepburn and donate your time and help build schools and roads and ***.
If Madonna would adopt me, I would be happy to go! That kid will probably live better lives than most & have access to more luxury than we can imagine. I think its admirable that Madonna is sharing the wealth & I think it's nice that black children are not taboo anymore. She could easily pick some blond haired blue eyed kid from right here. I commend Madonna for what she is doing. We do not personally know Madonna and should not be judging her solely on her past and her race. She is a very intelligent woman and I am sure she means well and will do good to this child.
Africans believe in extended family relationships and ,quite likely, in normal *** this child would not be in an orphanage. However, Malawi and many other southern African countries are now plague with very high Aids rates and an overbundance of orphans.
Culturally the child may evolve into something other than what she would if she had remained in her homeland, however at the end of the day I believe she will be thankful Madonna.

Madonna needs to stop stealing people's children! That little African girl has a grandmother who was told by the orphangae that once the little girl reaches 6 years old, she could go and live with her grandmother. The grandmother is one of the people who wants to stop the adoption process. If this goes ahead without her next of kins consent (i.e. her grandmother) then its a sign that this world truely is fcked up.
I don't like this at all. First Angelina Jolie and now Madonna. I guess it's the new thing among these rich white celebrities, like, "Lets adopt a kid from Africa." WTF for? These kids have parents, yes they are not rich and live a glamorous, papparazzi induced life, but they belong with their mother and father, not some rich white hag. These children are not accessories, they are human beings. Does she think she's "helping the African child"? Clearly she's doing more harm than good because these children will grow up confused. Take Pitt and Jolie, you think those kids don't wonder, If Mommy and Daddy are white, how come I'm Black, my sister is White, my two brothers are Asian, and so on. Hell they know they're not related. You know? It's a shame. Madonna needs to go to Europe and adopt a couple of kids from there and leave the Africans alone.
Us black people need to stop allowing all of these non-blacks, just take our children, like they're f*cking slave children or something. I'm sick of them! Can a black person adopt one of there own, as easy as it is to adopt one of ours?! I've never seen a black person adopt a non-black child before. I'm not saying it's impossible, but it is very rare.
Why all the negative talk against the adoption? What's up with all of the slavery talk. Like the children will be working in the fields or be maids or butlers. This is crazy talk. WIll the have a better life with their grandmother? There is no way to say they will or will not. But I do know if Madonna adopts the girl, she will have more opportunities to succeed.
