: MediaTakeOut.com just received word of a missing person mystery that’s going on right now. Television actress Aasha Davis, who has had recurring roles on NBC's "Friday Night Lights" and The N's "South of Nowhere”, is trying to find her sister - who has been missing for nearly seven weeks from her Hollywood home.
Here’s what MediaTakeOut.com managed to find out. Aasha’s sister Lesley Herring failed to show up at work in early February. When Lesley’s job called Aasha to find out what was going on – Aasha drove to Lesley’s house and found her and her husband missing.
But get this, two weeks later Lesley’s husband Lyle turned up. And MediaTakeOut.com learned that he had an INTERESTING story to tell. You see, according to Lyle – for the two weeks he was missing, he was actually SEARCHING for his wife. Uh huh.
When Lyle was located he had cut off his long dreadlocks, and claims that he had gone to Mexico to look for his wife because they were planning a vacation there and ran into a gang who cut off his hair because he owed them money
Luckily the police are suspicious of dude’s story too. Here’s what ABC News is reporting:
Police say Lyle Herring is not considered a suspect but that he has been less than forthcoming.We ain’t even gonna say what we think happened. But if y’all used to watch Lifetime movies like we did, you know what we’re thinking….Herring's family also said he has been evasive with them and said that he disappeared for two weeks around the time his wife vanished. He later turned up with his long dreadlocks cut off, with a wild story of how he had gone to Mexico to look for his wife because they were planning a vacation there and ran into some sort of gang who cut off his hair because he owed them money, according to Davis's husband Jesse Pforzheimer.
"I would describe his cooperation as fragmented and less than helpful, not someone I would expect as a grieving husband," Det. Chris Gable said at Tuesday's news conference, taking a surprisingly confrontational tack with Lyle Herring, who was standing nearby.
"We felt he could not come there and present himself as a caring husband asking for the public's help when he's not been very helpful to us in trying to find Lesley," Berndt said about Gable's surprise statement. But she added that police continue to look for other leads in Herring's disappearance.
"You have to question why he is reacting the way he is in this investigation. But we definitely put it out there that we are exhausting all clues we have in order not to do a rush to judgment or limit ourselves just to him," she said.

Wow a black female goes missing. It's being reported on (albeit because the sister is in the biz). This site is mostly comprised of AA women and only 37 responses thus far. Wow, this is not only the lame-ess excuse I have ever read, but it’s completely ridiculous. Gone to Mexico looking for his wife? No, a normal person would have called her closest relatives or friends, assuming IF she left him, that she was with one of them. Those calls would have happened day one or day two. As for the dread locks, apparently there was blood evidence in his hair he couldn’t be sure was completely washed out…so he cut them off. Glad the police are suspicious, I’m sure the only reason he hasn’t been arrested yet is due to lack of evidence, but until there is some conclusion, his passport should be seized and his personal travel restricted to the state he currently resides in.

This story was featured on Nancy Grace...and I saw a briefing of it on ABC news. Read something other than MTO for news and information..because otherwise...you will be out of the loop. I will agree that it has not been given the mainstream press that it should or could be given, but that is often the families responsibility. WHites tend to "make more noise" and more of a big deal about their missing relatives. They will utilize any and all resources to get and keep their relatives in the press.. Blacks are a little more reserved. SO , i would not be quick to only blame the press.
