: Well ... Kelly's going in a completely new direction. The song is actually kinda cool though ... we'll see ...
GREAT move! She needs to break out and create her own unique path. Laying down house tracks will get her into a new market and also open up some international sales. Those house tracks, when hot, get major worldwide money. Why mess around with just the R&B market when its obvious how fickle some negroes are.
I think an artist should never limit themselves. I am really pulling for Kelly and I hope it works out.
A lot of people are listening to house music now but don't know it. When you listen to... Lady Gaga - Just Dance or Poker Face. Three 6 Mafia Lollipop remix. Flo Rida "Right Round" which is ripped off from Dead or Alive an 80's house/rock tune. Literally anything by Kanye West. Kid Kudi "Day *** ***". Literally every rap played in the clubs are remixed into a danceable house beat.
So I don't understand why people are on here talking about how whack house music is.
Hmmm...
There was a special on MTV years ago when Michelle first became a member of the group. I think Carmen: The Hip Hopera was shown that day as well. Not sure, it's been a while...
Anyhoot. The ladies all had some very IMPORTANT ppl in their lives come up on stage with them during the special. I remember Michelle had her sisters there. I think B may have had her mom, and Kelly had gotten a surprise visit from her BEST FRIEND who was a white chick. Not that it matters, but it would explain the diveristy in her music, AMONGST other things. Just b/c she started out R&B doesn't mean she doesn't have a love for other genres of music.
Honestly, I think she's in her lane. I like her voice.
Also, look at the movie roles she chooses. 'Seat Fillers is very "Love Song" esque starring Monica. Freddy vs Jason...she seemed very comfortable around the "white folk"...LOL!
New direction? How?
...tell me I can't jam to Ace of Bace, MC Eiht, & St. Germain in the same day. Please!

You know Black folks don't know any better. They can't get with anything UNTIL the SPEED DEMON bandwagon stops. Who THINKS while you're dizzy?
WhoeverYouWantMeToBe Flag post She can sing but that song is definitely biting off of coldplay speed of sound and she is going to haveto come a little bit better than that. I thought her career was over after she was dropped from her label... ========================================= Yep I recognized the rift instantly. Definitely sampled ColdPlay. Also, Madonna's "Ray of Light"

Because ***!ggas don't know *** about their own *** culture half the time. House music was basically started and popularized by black people in Chicago back in the 1980's and spread throughout the midwest and beyond. The true pioneers of house music like Frankie Knuckles, Jesse Saunders and Mr. Fingers were black. Folks need to realize that black music is bigger than just rap and r&B.

Thank you! See, and I was gonna bring up disco... Candi Stanton, Randy Crawford, Donna Summer, The Jacksons...
Black folks have GOT to DEprogram and stop giving 'white folks all the credit, especially when white artists will tell you "themselves", that they're influenced by "us".
SMART MOVE. HIP HOP R&B MARKT IS VERY OVERSATURATED. SHE CROSSOVERED AND USED HER POP APPEAL TO ANOTHER GENRE THAT WOULD ACTUALLY BUY OR DOWNLOAD HER MUSIC . IF SHE'S LUCKY SHE COULD PULL A DAVID HASSELHOFF .. THAT *** WENT DIAMOND 2 OR 3 TIMES IN GERMANY ALON AND WE DIDNT EVEN KNOW HE WAS A MUSIC ARTIST HERE IN THE STATES. NOT A BAD SONG THOUGH , SO SHE SHOULD GET OME BUZZ IN ST.TROPEZ AND IBIZA THIS SUMMER. PUTS HER WHERE THE MONEY IS AT !!
House music always soothes and it takes a sophisticated, open-minded, and hip person to recognize how great it is!! An artist that steps out and records an original House track is taking their artistry to another level, breaking new ground. It's one thing to get a House remix, but to actually record a House song...outstanding! Get into it peeps, don't sleep on House. It's here to stay!!
I'm going to support Kelly no matter what direction she goes in because no telling what she's been through with Beyonce and them Knowles's all those years. I'm sure she's suffered mentally and emotionally and I'm just glad to see her break free from those uppity country negroes who could care less about her, despite her really thinking they had her back. At the end of the day, blood is thicker than water and she had to learn that the hard way. Brandy tried to warn her but she turned on Brandy for the Knowles so hopefully, lesson learned. Go Kelly!!!
I am also excited for Kelly. I have felt for so long that she would fair better, as far as her career development, outside of the Knowles camp. The world is her oyster.
Matthew Knowles didn't create the music industry, so he surely in't the end all source to get a hit. His only true success has been from the Destiny Child brand, which includes Kelly and Michelle. Both young ladies should step out to direct toward their own destiny. Knowles was high school...they have graduated and are ready for higher learning. In other words, I believe they received all the tools they will need to survive and thrive in this music industry. They are both capable of achieving the success they desire.
ACTUALLY KELLY IS DOING QUITE WELL IN EUROPE. THIS MUSIC IS ALL THE RAGE DURING SPRING/SUMMER FESTIVAL SEASON KELLY VOICE IS MORE SUITED TO THIS TYPE OF MUSIC,I LOVED HER OTHER SONG WITH THAT ITALIAN GUY CANT REMEMBER HIS NAME WHERE SHE SINGS IN ITALIAN AT THE END,KELLY LAST SONG DID REALLY WELL OVER HERE THIS MIGHT BE THE REASON *** MATTY WANTS HER OUT THE WAY BEFORE BEYONCE COMES NO ONE DON'T LISTEN TO *** SINGLE LADIES , HALO AN THAT KIND A ***. A RECESSION IS ON PEOPLE WANT TO GET HYPED NO DEPRESSED HOPEFULLY DECENT DANCE MUSIC AS WELL AS MEANINGFUL SONGS WILL MAKE A COMEBACK TOO
@esotericdredz
If you took house music out of the equation these fools would be up in the club doing the 2 step. Without house music they'd be rapping over a Ted Haggert country song.
They better recognize history and thank God for the black people who threw in the beat so they can freak on the dance floor.
You know they are trying to build a House Music museum in Europe? EUROPE!!! That sh!t should be built on the south side of Chicago. SMH
This is a good move for Kelly. Like a few posts said before, Black muzik is more than R&B and "***" muzik.
The market is TOO SATURATED...everybody is trying to come out with that next great "***" single...and hope that it will make their album go Platinum...off the strength of one song. *** puzzles me sometimes.
That is not HOUSE music that is european style dance music and it's corny as hell. None of the hoes have the savy to be dance divas I like Kelly but she really needs to pray on this one cause that was garbage. It must be hard getting swag jacked by Beyonce all the time. She sturggling with her musical identity
I HAPPEN TO LIKE THIS...YEA I LOOOOOVE THE QUEEN BEYONCE...NUT THAT DOES NOT MEAN I AM JUST A BRAINWASHED FAN...IF KELLY CAN PERFORM THIS WELL THEN I WILL ACTUALLY BUY HER ALBUM THIS TIME..AND I HOPE HER VIDEO FOR THIS IS NOT GOING TO LOOK LIKE A SECOND RATE BEYONCE VIDEO..THAT TURNS ME OFF..BOTH KELLY'S "COMEBACK" AND "BUMP LIKE THIS" WAS A SECOND RATE "UPGRADE U" VIDEO..i didn't even know Kelly came out with a video for "comback" until after months of its release..but i like artist who are different, and i can feel them throught the music and performance...Beyonce is great at that..and i would think whoever was in Destiny's Child should be great performers...with all that experience they should be..no excuses...
This track here is more of a circuit House style, which will do well in the "Pop" clubs. This sound has its place and I completely understand her direction. My taste, however, is more deeper, soulful sounds. I would love to here her do a deep, sexy House track too. Like I stated earlier, she has the tools to do what she wants. Why stay boxed in?
Go Kelly!!!
Confidence is the name of the game! You don't out look or out sing or out act the next woman, artist, you "out confidence" them by CHALLENGING YOURSELF! Allow yourself to unlease your sensuality on full blast...feel and show it! Like a warm caribbean breeze against your face, organic strawberries bathed in champayne, the laughter of a toddler grasping just how fast he or she can run, feeling the passion of what makes you feel good run through your veins. FEEL and the rest will follow! It's Rihanna's hold card...she's ultra sensual, not just sexy, but sensual and there is a difference! After being in the shadows for so long, even if you don't see it that way, you have to reprogram your mind and it will show in your work that you are the lead singer, headliner or leading lady. You're so worthy of having a long career whether singing, acting or modeling...it's there for you.
Beyonce had a total network to support her and that included you! Plus, an alter ego that gave her the confidence onstage to electrify. You need to find that inner place where nothing but excellence lives, we all have that place. Sometimes it's a matter of finding out what the niche is, it can differ from what we initially planned. Be open and flexible to change and allowing the currents to come and go. You are a powerhouse, no doubt about it. You learned a lot, it's just a matter of finding Kelly, through the fray. It's like regrouping from the break-up of a marriage or romance and you have to find out who you are and what you want or adjust to being in an entirely new space.
Play the game the way the game is played, keep your irons in the fire and don't rely on anyone to take you there, allow them to follow you as God guide you to a higher place, where peaceful waters flow and success is inevitable!
Go Kelly!!!
