Maybe she was so busy with the group(being at their peak and all), she forgot to pay. The college must have sent her notices before but got no response so they took their case to court. It must have been paid from then though.
I think she should use this chance to go back to school and further her studies. She will have more chances of surviving off of her education than a music career, just because she had a few number ones on the far out charts does not mean she has money. I think touring is where she'll make most of her money but she ain't doing that. Writing is where the monies at also, but her albums are not selling for her to profit from that either.

Okay, maybe she was too busy at the time. She joined the group at the end of 99. I was just going to ISU in Jan 2000 and she had just left--BEEN KICKED OUT FOR FAILING GRADES!!!! And, when the Say my name video came on everyone was in total shock for one that she was in a grammy winning group and for two she had just been kicked out of school so, it was a shocker. I am happy that she had a chance to become famous in all, but I seriously doubt that her fame will continue. Her style just hasn't been popular even when she was in the group her solo parts of the songs survivor, Cater to you, and etc---sucked.
