Thats what i'm talkin about. My brother and I are in business for ourselves in a non music or sports related industry and there are times where my brother's wife (who's black btw) interacts with clients or meets them when we're invited to client functions. In these scenarios, a non-ghetto wife is all the difference from repeat business and being placed in a stereotype that sees less job opportunities for blacks.

I am so tired of people acting as though black women are the only ones who have a problem with interracial dating. My sister was married to a white man and most of the negative comments came from black men and white women.
In fact, black men and white women seem to have a double standard when it comes to interracial dating. They act as though it is okay for them to date outside their race, but black women are only supposed to date within their race and white women specifically think we should date the black men they don’t want.
I have a platonic black male friend who beds white women on a regular basis, but told me that he would stop speaking to me if I dated a white guy. In fact, he expressed interest in one of my girlfriends and when he discovered that her daughter was biracial, he said he didn’t like her anymore because she had slept with a white guy.
During my college days, when my black male friend would pay me a visit, my white roommates would be all over him like a white girl on an NBA ballplayer, pun intended. On the other hand, when we attended campus parties and a white guy approached me or one of my black girlfriends, they would get offended. In fact, I told off one of my roommates when I heard her state, “I can’t believe he wanted that ***.”
My upbringing affected my dating decisions. I was taught to be a caretaker and remain with the familiar while my brother was encouraged to be adventurous and explore the world. Also, my father made it clear that he did not want my sisters and me to marry white men, although he did not seem to care who my brother dated. In fact, he was proud every time my brother scored and he’d act like my brother had outwitted the white man somehow when he scored with a white girl. Of course, my sisters and I were expected to remain virgins until the age of 35.
Because of the intensity of this indoctrination by my father, I have just recently come to the realization that who I date is my choice and mine alone. No matter what race he is, I want him to truly love me and help me grow as a person.
