MediaTakeOut.com just received some BAD NEWS, word is that LL just lost his clothing line. Our pals over at the website Wooha are reporting that Sears has decided that it was time to let LL Cool J go …
Here’s what they’re reporting:
In case you haven’t noticed, LL has basically been silent about his Sears clothing line for the past year…and for good reason. A source at the apparel buying department at Sears has exclusively revealed to us that the LL Cool J clothing line is indeed shutting down due to a lack of sales and forced cutbacks from the Recession.
We got the drop way back in February but WORD ON THE STREET is now it looks like it’s official.
The benefit to the consumer though is that Sears is drastically cutting prices of all LL Cool J branded apparel from 50%-75% off to clear all existing in-store inventory.
Well … one man’s loss is another’s gain!!! Check out the Sears website for the sale items…

But this is his fault, why would you push your wears at Sears anyway?
.....who's going to see it in there?
Wow LL what's going on? You haven't been in a movie in I don't know when and your clothing line has bombed. Well I hope for your sake they keep running that commerical you're in. Is it Old Spice or something. I bet this is a blow to that ego, huh? But you are still one fine brotha, tho.
Chall things tough man.
oh well we all can make hits at least he executed his dream
clothes s trash! who you see in the street with his clothes
I'm not trying to be funny and I respect ambition but I'm not surprised. Has anyone seen his clothing line? Hated it.
sorry but i get car batteries at sears *** nothing else
L still doing his thang but now he's in the same co. wit P.Miller,Outkast,Shago(Bow Wow's line)and Bushi(Busta's line),just 2 name a few.
HIS CLOTHING LINE DIDN'T FLOP,I WORKED AT SEARS ,IT'S NOT LL.THE ENTIRE SEARS FRANCHISE ARE SLOWLY DYING,GIVE IT ANOTHER YEAR OR 2 AND SEARS WILL NO LONGER EXIST.IT'S BUSINESS SUCKS!
That clothing line is hot, especially for kids. He should take it over to Kohls or elsewhere.
Well I'm checkin' it out his clothing linde wasn't bad at all. Sears here I come!!
The problem isn't really LL's clothing. It's Sears lack of merchandizing correctly. His line can't really stand in there buy itself. It needs to be around other streetwear clothing lines in Sears, inwhich Sears does not have alot of. The reason why their competition (JC Penny has been successful with low cost urban lines is because they merchandised the urban streetwear section much better giving customers diversity in different companies ex. Ecko, Southpole,BK express, and others. Sears has dropped the ball for years trying to attract the minority customer to purchase clothing. My opinion is the buyer doesn't have a clue on what to put in the stores. They need to replace "HER" with someone who knows what they are talking about and understand what is hot in the industry which would also attract minority customers to come in and and buy. Plain and simple. Sears is in Every urban market but gives very little effort in supplying the right apparel suitable for the markets that they are in.
I LOVE YOU LL BUT THANK GOD.....
I feel bad for LL Cool J; It sounded like a bad idea for his clothing line to be featured at Sears. The majority of young people and black people rarely shop at Sears. But they should had tried promotion at Wal-Mart, Marshalls and Macy's;even JC Penney would had been better as well.the media should had ran t.v commercials advertising LL's clothes; they could have obtained plenty exposure and sold very well.I still wish LL Cool J luck.
AND I SHOULD OF SAID THIS IN MY LAST POST WHEN YOU MAKE CLOTHES YOU HAVE TO KNOW WHATS GOOD AND WHATS NOT CELEB'S THINK THEY CAN JUST BE A CLOTHING DESIGNER CAUSE THEY A CELEB IT DONT WORK OUT LIKE THAT SERIOUSLY. DIDDY AND JIGGA KNOWS THE MARKET, THEY KNOWTHE HOOD, AND THEY KNEW
IF THEY MADE A PRODUCT THAT THE HOOD WOULD SUPPORT EVERYONE ELSE WOULD FOLLOW AND LOOK AT THEM BOTH NOW AND I HATE DIDDY WITH A PASSION BUT HIS GEAR IS OFF THE CHAIN CAUSE HE KNOWS THE MARKET AND HE KNOWS WHAT WE THE HOOD WANT SO HE WENT FROM THERE.......
You also have to understand that what others may think as garbage, from the manufacturers standpoint, it is very difficult to construct a quality low cost item and make much profit from it. Something has to give. So what most manufacturers do is produce a lesser grade item where they can make a product and make a profit at the sametime. If you see a tee *** priced at 7.99 that means the wholesale cost was close to 4 dollars inwhich you can't do a whole lot of embellishing because you are limited.
You have to understand from both sides why things may seem cheap or poor quality.
He should take his clothing line to Walmart.he will get better sells
Bout time. I refuse to buy these celebrities fashion lines. If you're making money on music and movies why on earth do I need your perfume and fashion line for.
@REALLYTHO, PERFECT,COULDN'T HAVE SAID IT ANY BETTER MYSELF SO *** MTO!
Sears has to give us a reason to shop for clothing there. They have always been weak. The buyer is a middle aged white woman who I personally dealt with. She does not have a clue what to purchase for the urbanwear.
oh please! it dont matter if they bring it down that low, ppl still aint gonna dem ugly clothes! ppl arent buyin the clothes bcuz its a recession, they are not buyin it cuz its ugly! *** apple bottoms is doin jus fine and they clothes aint cheap, u know why cuz they clothes look good! ll cool j's clothing line was doomed from the get-go :)
The point is, Sears is not a mecca for street wear shopping which is why clothing lines keep failing in their stores.
I was wondering why they gave him a clothing line anyways. Who in the hell was buying them. LL we know you are a living ledgend, but fall back boo.
Hadn't had a chance to look at it for my son.
Even if they were not sold at Sears I still wouldn't buy them
I liked his line.. I thought it was a Christian line 1st... who knows??
YES HIS CLOTHING LINE FLOPPED LONG AGO! BUT I WILL BE GOING TO SEARS AFTER WORK JUST TO GET A SNEAK PEEK! I GOT A FEW KIDS PARTIES TO GO THIS SUMMER! LOL
it's a *** shame that people will support g-unit and some of these other rappers' ***,but a positive brother like l.l. can't get no love. *SMDH*
black people always wanna support *** and/or people who are already filthy rich and don't need no more money.a lot of black people are sooo *** irresponsible with their money.(alot but i DID NOT SAY ALL.)as far as people talking about sears...ain't a *** thing wrong with sears. i go there for housewares ALL THE TIME,and even got my comforter set for my bed from there and it is very nice. guess y'all must be used to wal-mart.
I GUESS HIS CLOTHING LINE WAS SELLING LIKE HIS RECORDS.
Of course it was a flop....
Kids these days dont give a *** about a LL Cool J enough for this project to have been a success.
Then of all places, Sears?
I wouldnt blame the reccession on this one though.
so?..am im possta cry and wh00p sears ***?
they were ugly anyways.
I dont think this matters...LL always make a way and a come back...I see him being around for a long time...
Thats ok though he still FINE as hell
SEARS WAS NOT THE RIGHT PLACE TO PUT YOUR LINE!!
why not khols?? hell vera wang but a line in there...
it would have made sense....
people only go into sears for car stuff, working out stuff and house ***.
The only thing people buy at Sears are washer/dryer units. lol
Didn't you already run this story, MTO? How many times are you'll going to tell us this?
First of all who shops for clothes at sears? Lmao
He would have been smarter to lend his name to Walmart or Target. Sears is kind of overpriced.
GUESS THE BITC*H AIN'T COOL NO MO!!
now he's in the same co. wit P.Miller,Outkast,Shago(Bow Wow's line)and Bushi(Busta's line),just 2 name a few.
I agree, TACKY AS EVER!!!
WHO IN THA HELL STILL SHOPS AT SEARS FOR CLOTHES? NOBODY BUT GRANDMAMA'S AND THE BABIES FOR EASTER. HELL THEY HACKING HIM AND THEY AZZ MIGHT BE AXED NEXT. THEM AND THEIR PARTNER COMPANY ***-MART. THE RECESSION AIN'T PLAYING!
Everybody can't sell clothes!!!!! L.L's style works for him he looks good ESPECIALLY WHEN HE LICKIN THEM LIPS!!! But don't nobody really wanna walk around looking like L.L! IF YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN?

***, is Sears still around. Ain't been in one in years.
LL should've opened his own store or either had his clothing line put in JCPenneys instead. Like Tjtrae said, Sears didn't promote his line much at all. I only saw his commercial a couple of times myself.
I HAD A FEELIN IT WOULD OH WELL LL GO BACK TO THE MOVIES AND GET A REALITY SHOW THAT'LL DO CUZ I WILL DEFINITELY WATCH LOL ;)
I don't blame them. Have you seen his corny *** Swag commercial for his cheap looking body spray? When I saw that *** I said to myself, "What da ***."
