I've read the 'Swine Flu' target mostly younger adults while the 'Flu' mostly target older people and babies. No the masks aren't like a glass bubble but any level of prevention helps. That's like saying covering your mouth when you cough or sneeze is just something to do. You are prone to so many airborne diseases when you're in an airport. It's better to be safe than sorry.
