: MediaTakeOut.com just learned that Mary J Blige's husband Kendu isn't going to be winning any Father Of The Year awards. On Father's Day, his daughter Brianna posted the following message about her father on her Twitter page, "Somebody find my father so I can tell him Happy Donor's Day."
WOW!!! If you'll recall, Kendu and Brianna's mother were married when her Kendu FIRST met Mary J Blige. Shortly after Kendu met Mary, they had a whirlwind romance - and they ended up getting married.
It seems like Kendu's "old family" may have somehow gotten lost in the whirlwind...

CHILDREN will always be left out when a parent marries or gets involved with another person when they are a minor. It is not a feeling, it is a fact. If you decide that being with their mother or father is not a good thing, and you mess up their stability, the next best thing you should do is raise your kids; no men or women until the yougest is 18. Have friends but no one that will take time away from your children. Raise them and then focus on yourself. She is probably acting out to get attention from her father because he screwed up her stability to be with Mary J. Blige.

First, Kendu WASN'T married to this girl's mother when he met and started dating Mary J. Blige. He and the mother of his two younger children were married but separated when he began to date Mary who refused to date him further until his divorce was final. (and it was NOT in or during rehab) Second, this girl is not a teenager, she is an adult in her early twneties. She and Mary had a volatile relationship years ago as she was being disrespectful to Mary. This led to a brief estrangement between Kendu & Briana. She's no victim.
And before anyone asks.....yes, I know this because this relationship is OLD NEWS!!! Mary has said in interviews for years that she did not get along with her husband's oldest daughter and how it was a struggle early in their relationship and marriage. They had since mended that relationship but it wasn't like the Cleavers...for whatever reason this young woman is bitter. Maybe her mom has a lot to do with it. And when are husbands & wives who are legally separated a "family"? Once a person leaves their marital home the priorities are with the children only and as far as I've seen he has never strayed from his children. Given this girl's history she is a hot head who throws tantrums when she doesn't get her way. if its true that he doesn't see her then its probably due to her own actions.
At Shanny07 I would have to disagree because her situation, unfortunately, is a classic case. I do not know why Kendu left his first wife, but unless it was for abuse of all sorts, or repititive infedility, he could have at least stayed until he raised his children. He decided a warm body next to him was more important than his children stability. This is what children do when put into siutations like this. We need to use good judgment when choosing mates to avoid Kendu's situation. Would you want to bounce from bed to bed every week because your parents do not have their act together?

For example, I have a cousins whose mother remarried and had another child by the time she was 3. Her father had also remarried and had three more children. She did not feel love by her father and her mother because she would constanly ask why does her siblings have an intact family and she does not? If you have minor kids and for whatever reason you just cannot stick it out with the mother or father, just focus on the children and then when they are grown, then play. The time and money spent on new women and men can be spent on your children. The people you bring into your children lives may not always be a good thing and remember children learn from example and what they see is how they will act in their relationships when they get older, so we need to always set a good an example and not choose ***, money, an status over our seeds.
