I'm from Harlem and 125/St. Nick isn't dangerous thats the shopping area and all the african braiding spots plus theres a chuck e cheese up there. @bronxglamazon 145 *** 8th is nothing but white people now. they done put condo's and gyms, banks and starbucks up there. They left out all the rough spots like 155/pologrounds, 142-147 bwt broadway *** amsterdam. 144 *** lenox, and the whole east side.
I'm from the Nati and I think that they just picked a streets that are centrally located to all the madness. Liberty St. runs through the worst streets such as Vine, Race, and Walnut. Central Pkwy picks up Findlay and John. That's why it's at the top b/c all those streets that they intersect are horrible! When they showed the riots on the news, they showed those streets. In Too Deep was filmed in those areas.
mto 66th and yale is my old neighborhood in englewood and 60th and wincheter is part of englewood also get my hood and my city off this fuggin list im on my grown man shish im not like alot of lames who would be proud of this b.s. perry,yale,lafeyette,wentworth,parnell,lowe,green, halsted *** out to all them streets peace!!!

Okay I have one question...Why is Springfield, IL on the list. I saw this story ran in our local newspaper and we can't possibly be on the list. The article in the sj-r.com stated that there could be flaws in the formula the FBI statics used to create this nonsense list. Although Springfield has had SOME violent crimes occur in the last few years it has not been enough to put us on the list. I'm not mad I'm just stating the facts. Also to answer the question that was asked by some people that have commented....there are some white people in the neighborhood but there are not many.

New York is NOT heavily "REPRESENTED" as MTO mistakenly states. 125th and St. Nicolas is uptown in Washington Heights. If a street is dangerous it's probably because the traffic lights are f*cked up and people are getting run over crossing the street. But then again MTO did say that street is on the FBI list...so who knows what's up with that. In my opinion if it's not the jacked up traffice lights then it's probably the excessive racial profiling with these trigger happy cops.
125th and St. Nick is not particularly dangerous...a lot of gang and illegal activity but they makin it seem like your likely to get offed just 4 being around these places<<<Not gonna happen in Harlem! Yeah - this report is BS. 125th and St. Nick (NYC) has never been dangerous in my eyes. 125th Street is about the only tourist attraction in HARLEM, unless you are someone who knows about a few other attractions in Harlem. So you know there a good amount of police out there patrolling. This is why you can’t believe everything you read and hear. Statistics – this and statistics this – its all BS.

I lived in both Harlem (NYC) and Chicago and been to most hoods in the United States and I can name worse spots then those. The worse neighborhoods (not streets) to me are "Brownsville,East NY, Brooklyn" "Westside, Chicago" "Eastside, Detroit" "New Orleans" "Liberty City, Miami" "Gary, Indiana" "5th Ward, Houston" "Compton/Watts,Los Angeles County" "Washington, DC" "South Bronx, NYC" "Southside,Chicago (as depicted on that list)" "Oakland, CA" "Certain spots in ATlanta, GA" "Memphis, TN" "Little Rock, ARK" and Omaha, Nebraska". Don't sleep on those areas I mentioned. It's ashame that most of those areas are black with a high concentration of low class citizens.

@trappb- Gary, Indiana is a city of 100,000 people, not a neighborhood. The only reason it gets listed as dangerous is the per capita murder rate. The whole city is not bad. Just know, when you see a church's chicken, liquor store, abandoned buildings, dirty gas station, and store front church in the block, you need to watch your back.

im late getting back on this topic but@larry's daughter 66t&yale is part of englewood unless they did some rezoning i don't know about that is my old neighborhod also had alot of family within walking distance on perry,yale and parnell and also lowe englewood is 55th-75th north to south and lafeyette to damen east to west so technically 55th(garfield) and state is the one that is not englewood but even that is only 1 block east of it englewood stay gunning and it's bad but hey it's mine and alot of my family's old hood therefore i will always love and represent it for better or worse!!
