I think this is abuse. She seems to be brushing her hair too harshly. She should wet the hair use some leave in conditioner and detangler spray, and brush the hair before she combs through it. Poor baby, I know that some kids are tender headed, but there are better ways to combing a childs hair then to be pulling it out from the roots with a comb like a mad woman.

I can only speak for what I have seen with my sisters son, and my youngest daughter. My sister would attemp to comb through her sons hair gently, parting it and sectioning it off, conditioning, and he still act a fool, jumping around screaming and what not, to where the only way she was able to comb it was to get what ever spot she could before he ran off again. Same with my my youngest daughter. She had a coarser grade of hair than my older daughters thus making hair grooming a *** mare for the both of us. I don't see abuse here, what I see is a lack of technique and no patients.

I don't think this was abusive. Granted, she does need to watch what she says and learn to be more gentle combing her daughters hair but she had more patience than what I would have had. After all that moving around and crying...I would have already popped her. Had the little girl sat still, it wouldn't have hurt as much. LMAO!!! Almost all little black girls go through the same thing the first time that their mother brushes her "kitchen" for the first time. I saw my sister brush my neice's hair for the first time and I was 50% mortified and 50% LMAO. I'm just glad i'm not a girl because my family is old school.
