: MediaTakeOut.com has learned that Miley Cyrus' new album (Extended Play) The Time of Our Lives is going to drop on August 31st exclusively through Wal-Mart. The young singer is releasing it in conjunction with her new clothing line through the retail store.
MediaTakeOut.com just caught wind of a CRAZY new rumor. According to about 23 BAZILLION Whitney Houston fans, Wal-Mart will not be selling Whitney Houston’s album I Look to You when it releases August 31st - except on their online site.
Why, you ask? Because the retail giant reportedly signed an exclusive deal to sell only Miley Cyrus’ new album (Extended Play) The Time of Our Lives for the week beginning on August 31st. Miley’s releasing the album in conjunction with her new clothing line through Wal-Mart.
Sounds like Whitney shoulda looked into this before choosing that release date ...

I don't believe Walmart would make an exclusive deal to only sell the teeny bobs album. The great thing about Walmart is they sell everybody's music good or bad from CONTEMPORARY,ROCK,NEO'SOUL,ALTERNATIVE,RAP,CLASSICAL JAZZ,POP AND OLD SCHOOL! You name it they sell it in music and at better prices than the mom and pop record stores. So I ask who is Miley Cyrus that she can tell a RETAIL GIANT WHAT THEY CAN AND CAN'T SELL? M.T.O QUIT PLAYIN!!!! 4u2.com
The music industry are not checking for R&B singers in America any more. Walmart decision not to carry Whitney makes it loud and clear. Have you notice that there are not any really good new soul/R&B singers being promoted by the record industry? It's a wrap. It's over. Might as well go back to Africa. A further slap in the face is that kid from England on "The X Factor" show being promoted as the next big time. But if you really look and examine his performance you can see it's nothing you can't find at your local church on Sunday mornings. [link to external website removed] BTW. I do hope she sells well.
Miley non talented azz!!! Walmart account for 20% of music sales, second only to Itunes! So this is a big deal! Its funny that they carrying all of WHitney's old material, but wont carry the new album in local stores? THe shade is so obvious. I won't ever shop at walmart again ! Nobody *** with WHITNEY *** FU*KIN HOUSTON !!
Well you can't compare A kids cd to Whitney really..I don't know why Miley's team would do that because both are different genres and pertain to different age groups sooo thats rediculous..Miley relates to pre-teens and Whitney is a music veteran whom the Adult crowd enjoys....soo next! Wal mart grow sum ***..yall already number one *** other stores down..u can turn down ONE paycheck lol
Whitney's ***'s a flop anyway. It's like purchasing an Ashanti, or Brandi type cd. Very bland.
She has lost her range and her soulfulness. There are NO chills down your spine, or goose bumbs in her music anymore. Miley might beat her out anyway. Whitney smoked away her talent, folks.
It should all balance out. Whitney's premiering on OPRAH. Orah vs Walmart. Even balance. lol
No excuses. She's an ICON though. So, If she can't compete with a 17 year old over-rated white girl, shame on her. lol .
Like Wal-Mart wouldn't sell Whitney Houston.
People are just trying to find a way to excuse why she isn't didn't blow up if she doesn't do that well with this comeback.
The same way the fans were blaming the fact that ILTY was available free on Whit's website and that is the reason it isn't doing anything on the charts. Just a wack excuse. It isn't doing well cause the song sux. She's no where near where she used to be. That's what people remember.
Whitney says...
Contrary to rumors that Whitney's I Look to You CD would not be available in Walmart stores, the company has issued the following statement:
"Walmart will in fact be selling Whitney's new album in all stores beginning Monday, August 31. We're excited about Whitney's new album! Walmart.com had unexpected tech issues, some CD pages are not showing up. We're working on it now. Whitney will be online & in Walmart stores."
MTO...thank u!!! Nothin' But Love
