: Remember when MediaTakeOut.com told you about a report in the NY Daily News on how Roxanne Shante got Warner Music to pay for her PhD ... well the report was wrong.

According to Warner, neither it nor any of its subsidiary record labels ever had a contract with Shanté, and it was not obligated to pay for her education. Indeed, there's no evidence that it ever did. Shanté—real name Lolita Shanté Gooden—doesn't have a Ph.D. from Cornell or anywhere else. Indeed, she admitted it in an interview with Slate. And Cornell has no record of Gooden (or "Shanté") ever attending or receiving a degree. According to Marymount Manhattan College records, Shanté enrolled there but dropped out less than four months later without ever earning a degree. New York state records indicate that no one named Lolita Gooden or Roxanne Shanté is licensed to practice psychology or any related field.

and she said she went to cornell???...i should've known something was amiss when she said she went to cornell medical in that one youtube interview...
you dont go to a medical school for a psychology degree and does cornell even have a medical school?

People crazy! I guess once she started to lie she had to keep up with the lie due to the fact is spread so fast.....Roxanne is crazy! She wanted that hype and praise of going to college so people can be like look at her wow......So Stupid! She was on the radio talking about it and doing interviews with VHI talking about it....Anything she has some serious mental issue she need to address herself....

You could have just stated the truth and used your experience in the industry to help to create good contracts.
NEVER EMBELLISH YOUR RESUME' you might get asked to actually do some of that stuff and not be able to perform! Or to show degrees that you don't have.

I find it hard to believe she's lyin'. If she is she been lyin' about this for at least 6 years. Why is it just comin' out now if she lyin'? I wonder who actually took the time to check her story. Why did they care so much to go through all the trouble?
She was a real inspiration to me because I have businesses and I am going for my grads in Psychology and my MFT (marriage and family therapy) and I was stressed so many times doing it all and I thought if she can do then so can I.
I will still keep that thought in my head though. I have one more year left to go. LOL.
