beautiful_gem...I agree with you about preference being stupid. A person can preference themselves out of a wonderful mate. I know attraction is important, but sometimes you have to get to know someone before you become attracted to them. Everyone wants instant relationships, and that is the downfall of many couples.
beautiful_gem----I did too and then as I started getting older I realized that I was finding myself attracted to men that I normally would've have paid attention to. I realized that sometimes when you really get to know someone, you find yourself attracted to them though you weren't before. That's been my experience. Actually when I was younger, I used to like light-skinned guys, but now I don't care what complexion they are as long as they are good, decent men.

Leave it to MTO to make it about color. I am the color of Will Smith skin tone maybe a little lighter and I have dated men of all shades. In the 80's when I was little light skin men like EL Debarge and Al B Sure was in style. Then in the 1990's it was RKelly and Denzel, Wesley Snipes,Tyrese,Tyson Beckford that made Dark Skin on the map.

I WAS THERE THAT ***!! It was at a club in NJ. I'm right in the front..I'm in the first picture lol Right in between Drake and the security guard. The first thing I noticed is how badly he was dressed LOL but I don't care. I have so much respect for him cause his leg is hurt as hell, he wobbled down the steps as he left. Btw, This topic bought out a lot of stupid people like people who really believe everyone hates them for being lightskin and those who like to sh*t on darker complexions and those who talk sh*t about lightskin people. One day in 1985 a high yella woman and dark brown man decided they looked pretty good to one another and dated and here my caramel brown complected as is .... nobody color is superior or inferior in standards of beauty anyways.
