: Go head girl . . . That right there just needed to be said!!!!
LOL @ DIMPZ
THATS RIGHT...WWOD....(WHAT WOULD OPRAH DO)..
IF IT WERENT FOR SLAVERY AND OPPRESSION THIS WOULD NEVER BE AN ISSUE....SOCIETY FROM THE EARLY ERAS HAVE TARNISHED THE BEAUTY OF A BLACK WOMEN AND THEIR VARIOUS FEATURES...NOW WE EITHER LAUGH IT OFF AND RISE ABOVE OR BECOME VUNERABLE TO EUROPEAN STANDARDS..
---
the only women who are angry or upset r the ones who dont want to admit the truth. they feel belittled by it. there's nutn wrong wit wearin fake hair, not that i do. but im just sayn dont b kumplainin about it just bcuz u got nappy hair. *** plus, he made it 4 his daughter who asked him y she dint have gud hair. hes not exploitin anybody.
Ugh enough about "black" people hair.. There are much more important things going on in the world right now. Stop the ignorance LOL. Be happy with yourself and focus on other things in life!! Because talking about hair and other blah blah things will get you nowere. Do you and stay true to yourself. No matter what your hair looks like were all bueatiful in our own way:)
LET ME GUESS, I GUESS SHE DIDN'T WANT OTHER PEOPLE TO KNOW HER SECRET, THAT THE WIG SHE WAS WEARING WASN'T HER HAIR, BUT THE QUESTION IS WHY WOULD YOU WANT TO POTRAY SOMETHING THAT ISN'T YOURS ANYWAY?....THATS DUMB, MY HAIR STOPS TO MY BUT, AND ITS A HASSEL, AND ITS HEAVY, YOU CAN'T DO MUCH WITH HAIR THIS LONG, ESPECIALLY IT ITS SILKY, IT KEEP FALLING. PEOPLE TELL ME ALL THE TIME THEY WISH THEY HAD MY HAIR. PEOPLE NEED TO BE THANKFUL FOR WHAT THEY HAVE, IF YOU DON'T HAVE A LOT OF HAIR, KEEPIT HEALTHY, NOURISH IT, AVOID EXCESS HEAT, AND PULLING "YOU ARE NOT YOUR HAIR"
It dont matter about chris rock making a movie about it, we been going thru tha fact that people think most of the time our hair is fake anyway, even down to our own race we think that another sistah cant have long hair...dont blame chris for making a movie about it...do u and stop worrying about what people think of you, youre gonna get talked about regardless, NEXT
I guess she felt that traditionally this information has been primarily kept within the borders of the black community.(Us) But how do we progress without helping other races, ignorant of who we are, gain a better understanding for what we are and the sh*t we go through. I think this topic of black hair has been taboo for long enough. I applaud Rock for taking the time to put a comedic spin on a "touchy" subject. Let's go!! follow me http://twitter.com/insane_trumpet
I have natural hair so I am not worried but I understand her point.
It is no one's business what we do. It's kind of like when your parents said the family business stays in the house.
We don't know what asians, latins, caucasians do with their hair. It is slowly leaking out about just how long caucasians have been using extensions. They've been wearing extensions for YEARS! Yet we are the ones who are made the *** of jokes.
After this movie comes out there are going to be a lot of non-black people getting beat down because of stupid questions and ignorant remarks.
TRUTH!
I kind of agree with her. Not about keeping the hair a secret but just how stupid it makes us look as a people. Black women are really more respected in a sense more than the black male. Now they looking at us the same way as wasteful, materialistic, stupid, financially ***, etc. Now we look just like the rappers who buy $200,000 chains and wont pay they child support. 5 billion dollars a year on weave and who gets our money the Chinese people at the hair store and they dont even want you in there and we dont own not one hair store. Its really a shame and shouldve been kept a secret.
Um....don't we have more important things to talk about than what people do with follicles on their own head? What about black-on-black crime, domestic violence, murder, prostitution, the corrupt government, healthcare issues, you know, *** that actually matters.
btw I'm "perm-free" and I've never worn weave but I can't stand when people try to preach to others about how to groom themselves. It's so trivial and pointless.
DON'T GET IT TWISTED...WHITE WOMEN WEAR WEAVES TOO! BRITNEY SPEARS WAS SHOWN ON TV ADDING HAIR. ONE OF THE KARDASHIAN CHICKS WAS SHOWN RIGHT ON THIS SITE A FEW DAYS AGO GETTING HAIR ADDED IN A BLACK SALON. THAT LADY NEEDS TO LIGHTEN UP!!! WHEN I HAVE BEEN ASKED IF MY WEAVE HAIR WAS MINE, I SAY "YEAH".. IT IS BECAUSE I PAID FOR IT!!! HA-HA!!!
And all that dont touch my hair when he about to have ***....that was soooo corny. I bet all those women who left commentary really thought they was doing something. They just looked stupid. Talk about something else that will bring awareness in the black community. The only thing that I like is that it will bring awareness to how much $$ we spend and maybe someone will notice and start acknowledging how much we stimulate the economy. Then maybe we can have more representation in the beauty industry and we can reap some of the rewards.
@BLUBOY *** THE *** UP YOU SOUND DUMB AS HELLL WHITE WOMEN AND OTHER RACES HAVE BAD GRADES OF HAIR LIKE THAT STRINGY THIN AZZ HAIR WHITE WOMEN HAVE SO DON'T GO THERE AT LEAST NAPPY WILL HOLD A CURL AND ALL THESE OTHER RACES ARE RUNNING GETTING "PERMS" TO CURL THEIR HAIR FOR THAT LOOK SO STEP THE *** OFF BYTCH
Now they really aint gonna want us in the pool they gone be like that black girl just got in the water with her weave on you know that hair is made from farm animals. They gone be like dont drink the water from the tap you know when the black girls rinse they relaxer out all that sodium chloride chemicals pollute the water. They gone be like now all my dam tax dollars going to support them welfare moms to buy food and hair weaves. They gone be like Shemica called in sick today lets make sure she got a doctors note and its not just because she couldnt get hair done The list goes on & on
I understand where she was coming from when she said she didn't want to be asked if her hair was real... I don't really understand why ppl ask that question...like why is it vital for them to know that information? To me it's like asking a white girl if she's had a nose job...like Chris said the younger generation is more open. I have friends of other races who have asked about my hair and I don't have a problem telling them what's what but I don't think random azz ppl should be walking up to me asking if my hair is real...
People are so uneducated on this site! First of all the woman has her own natural hair! She was upset because black women already have to deal with sterotypes and negativity from whites, hispanics and even our own black men. She wanted to set the record straight and make sure its known that not all black women wear weaves. Some of us have our natural hair. The white lady next to her, had just asked her if her hair was a weave. I read blogs all the time and she how white women, hispanic women basically every other race of women put black women down and think their better than us. We need to keep
ya I dont know who gives a fck if it is real or fake. Good hair is hair that makes you feel good. some people just have no etiquette. There are only two types of hair; cared for and uncared for. Natural or with the help of extensions, dreadlocks, afro....it is all beautiful, if it is care for properly.
my blog... artstylelife.blogspot.com
I read blogs all the time and see how white women, hispanic women basically every other race of women put black women down and think their better than us. Doesn't help that black men do the same to us. We need to keep some things within the black community. White, asian, hispanic, armenian etc... get but implants and lip injections, something that we have naturally and no one says anything about them!
Contrary to what people are saying, Chris Rock has every right to discuss black hair issues because 1.. he is black.. and 2 he is the father of young black females that are dealing with self esteem issues every day. -------------------------------------------
Now go visit yo man in jail. For low cost round trip transportation to more than 20 State Prisons in Georgia, call us at 888 898-0830. And yes.. we service most states. The holidays are approaching. Let Ray Ray know you care. 888 898-0830
I'm with Chris Shirley needs a man! If she feels inferior to white women or any other women because of some hair she doesn't know her own "SELF" worth! Speak for yourself Ms. Shirley! To all my sisters whatever your ethnic background please know no one can "take" a man from you EVER! He has to WANT to go. If he leaves he wanted to do that! Now she may have said or given him something to think about but the final decision to leave is ALWAYS HIS! I guarantee you every man that passed Shirley up did not do so for a white women, some where black so.. I say that to say Shirley needs to FIX SELF !
Now No Thanks to Chris and Tyra the price of weave and relaxer is going to go up They bringing all this attention to the black hair industry -supply and demand Chris comparing the need for weave and relaxer to that of a crack fix. huh? Come on now. Now the Chinese hair store owners is gonna get scared. They gone have security in there now. He said some women wont pay they rent before they get they hair done. where they do that at? Now if you lost your job and go to your landlord for an extension on the rent he gone say NO Go Take Your Weave back and pay me this dam money
With all the interruptions it was hard to see where she was coming from. For her, it was about working in corporate America and having someone walk up to you and ask you, "is that your real hair". Just because it's not an issue for you doesn't mean it's not an issue for someone else. I have what people have always considered "good hair", it's just hair to me...however, it is rude and like Oprah said not proper etiquette to ask someone "is that all your hair", "is that a weave"...If you like the hairstyle then compliment it and move on. That's all she was saying.
She needs to get over it, I'm sure there weren't white people all over America lined up to watch the movie. The movie was informative and funny, but is it something that's going to make me say, "is that a weave on your head?" No, its not, its none of my business, just like its not any of my business what color panties a person has on
@ButrPecn....I agree with you. Every other race of women do extra *** to their body and its cool. As soon as black women do it ppl are talking. Honestly the amount of Jealousy for black ppl with never stop. Yes JEALOUSY!!! That's the only reason for constantly hating someone is because you secretly wonder why or how they make it and admire them. Deep down all that small nose cover girl *** and all other races of women are still scared of sisters because sisters are NATURALLY beautiful.
BLACK WOMEN think they are SLICK but the truth is...YOU CAN ONLY USE THE WORD "NATURAL" if you are wearing the "NATURAL HAIR" that has grown out of your scalp!!!....SISTAS think they fooling somebody by saying that thier hair is still natural but YET IT IS STILL STRaightened or PRESSED!!!...SMDH!!!...BYTCHES THAT AINT NATURAL!!!...
This movie is a relief to me because white people already ask so many questions about our hair. Like I have stated, I don't understand their obsession with our hair because I am not the least bit intrigued with their hair.
To me, Chris Rock is challenging the belief that straight hair is the most beautiful hair. It definitely is not because when I wore my hair natural I could not get over how jealous people were of my hair. This is a love letter to his daughters to let them know that they are beautiful just the way they are.
I don't think he was attacking BW at all. I mean why would he make the movie based on what white, hispanic or Asian women and the changes they have with their hair considering his mother, wife and kids are all BLACK!! I am very anti-weave not just for BW, but for all women. Haven't seen the movie yet, but I can't wait to see it.
WOW...MAKES ME NO DIFFERENCE EITHER WAY. I DNT SEE BEING BLACK AS A BURDEN SO IT DOESNT BOTHER ME WHO EXPOSES SUM PPLS HAIR ISSUES 2 THE OTHERS! I DNT UNDERTAND THE POINT OF THIS MOVIE. ALL IT LOOKS LIKE IS COONERY 2 ME. WAHHMY SKIN DIFFERENT, MY HAIR DIFFRENT. WERE DIFFERENT. ITS SAD HOW SUM PPL ALLOW THE COLOR OF THEIR SKIN 2 BE A BURDEN, EVEN A DETERMINATE FACTOR. HOW LIMITED OUR PERCEPTION IS. AS I ALWAYS SAY WE R SPIRIT IN A HUMAN EXPERIENCE, IM PART OF THE HUMAN RACE.
Oh, *** Chris Rock. He better be puttin some of his wifes ancient chinese pu**y secrets on blast, why he always making african americans the *** of his tired azz jokes. I could give a *** about that movie! Sue Kim's chinese azz in the wig store will continue to get my business, when I feel like weaving it up and my occasional attitudes for the ridiculous high azz prices, hmmmmp!
Most WHITE WOMEN DO NOT WEAR WEAVES!!!...THAT IS A LIE...BLack females just want to find an excuse for thier self-hate...and its BLACK FEMALES who are the ones OBSESSED with HAIR!!!...AND IT ALSO PROVES THAT the majority of BLACK WOMEN VIEW WHITE WOMEN AS THE IDEAL WOMAN!!!...SO its NO WONDER why BLACK MEN are going to feel the same way and get themselves a NON-BLACK WOMAN...WHITE, HISPANIC or ASIAN anything other than the BLACK FEMALE!!!
i agree with dajournalist. the choices black women make with their hair is just as much a mystery to the black man as it is the white community. how many of you actually knew where your weave came from before this movie??? how many of you know that the chinese have locked down the weave industry and they wont even knowingly sell hair to black businesses??? Its not as serious as some of you are making it out to be. rather you wear it natural, ***, relaxed, long hair dont care...just do that *** RIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Black women are the bread and butter of the beauty indusrty...
like the realroxanne said...we make the issue about hair.I cud care less about the collective issue that su blks have enuf to want to watch a movie about it, but apparently sum1 does 4 chris rock to mae a movie about it. Really sad. I proudly wear weave, wigs, and watever & ppl tell me i have ood hair..but my hair is only a very small fraction of who i am. This must be for very yung ppl.
I'm not understanding her point. What about the trailer upset her? How can she complain about the movie if she didn't actually see it? I haven't had a chance to catch it yet, but it doesn't make sense to get riled up if you haven't see the movie. The whole concept of good hair is still a touchy subject in the black community, and black hair in general is so taboo to other cultures. Did anyone actually see the movie? Was it offensive? Or are people getting riled up for nothing?
I grew with hair down my back (in the genes) I now wear my hair super ***. People I run into from back then always say first thing" Girl you cut off all that hair" people who had never seen me with it can't envision it. I don't feel the need to tell people "I use to have looong hair" when they compliment me on my *** hair. Hair doesn't define who I AM ! There are people with alopecia that just want hair PERIOD! Get over this shallow sh!t! Do what you want!
LOL @ ALL THE MTO READERS HATIN' ON CHRIS!
WHAT DAM "S E C R E T" DID HE LET OUT WHEN Y'ALL B ALL SUSPECT W/IT, WEARIN' *** HAIR ONE DAY AND BRAIDS/ WEAVES 2 THE A S S THE NEXT DAY?
ESP. THE ONE'S WEARIN' TACKY..NASTY WEAVES C'MON!
*********HOW U PLAYIN'....BUNCH OF B A L D- H E A D E D.....B I T C H E S ON A WAR PATH! LOL
We have more misconceptions about our hair than other races do. Someone in here said that black hair grows slower than other hair types. This is 100% untrue. It appears to grow slower because it's naturally drier than other hair types. So as hair grows in at the roots, it's likely to break off at the ends if it isn't properly moisturized.
Think about it this way. If black hair didn't grow, women who have relaxers would never have to touch up their new growth because there wouldn't be any.
Chris on that *** If he so worried about his daughters self-esteem he need to tell them to look up to their mother because we all know that self-esteem starts in the home. His kids blessed enough to have 2 parents in the home and have enough money to get the best hair products to have healthy hair. And again they mama is the best rolemodel because unlike their dad their mother actually does something to uplift the black community. Black in America vs. Good Hair. Them lil girls need to look up to their mother.
@ BLUBOY---DID U KNOW THAT PARIS HILTON, BRITTANY SPEARS, KHLOE SLUTDASHIAN, JUST 2 NAME A FEW ALL WORE WEAVES AT ONE TIME OR ANOTHER?
AND THIS IS JUST A VERY SMALL PERCENTAGE OF THE WHITE WOMEN WHO DO AND HAD THE *** 2 CONFESS OR JUST GOT CAUGHT SO...DON'T GET IT TWISTED, BLK & WHT PPL PROBABLY RUNNIN' NECK 2 NECK IN THIS THING! LOL AGAIN
Sorry but Oprah has already proven that her hair is all hers. Oprah had long thick hair way back in school and when she won Miss Memphis at her college campus. There's is a clip where Chris Rock is shocked after exploring his fingers thru Oprah's hair on national TV...this is all hers. She protects it from time to time with wigs because harsh heat and styling everyday for TV will ruin black people hair. On the other hand, I feel the same way that the lady in the clip feels. Yes, that is her hair as Chris saw running his fingers through her hair. But, that’s not the point. Some black women may want to wear extensions for a special occasion or to change things up a bit. It’s fun and it’s art. Exposing our business is just dead wrong. Chris should have had Brittney Spears, Jessica Simpson, Eva Longoria Christina Aguilera and all on this film as well because they are among many Whites and Hispanics that wears extensions. This is not just African-American Women. This movie makes it seems like only Black folks does this. White women dye, bleach, perm and color their hair as well as wear wigs and extensions just like Black Women. However, their hair secrets will not be exposed and magnified on film like Black Women. White people just wouldn’t do this because they want to keep their women on a pedestal. Black people are always exploited and ridiculed. Thank You Chris Rock! Hope you sleep well as you continue to line your pockets from this film by exploiting the beauty secrets of the black community!
ummm...SHE JUST SOUNDED MAD SERIOUS LOL..WELL I KINDA AGREE..A LIL BIT..THE FILM SHOULD HAVE SHOWN WHITE,CHINESE AND EVERY GURL OF EVERY RACE HAVING A WEAVE...CHRIS SHOULD'VE COSTAR THE KARDARISHIANS CAUSE THEY WEAR WEAVES TOO..ITS NOT ONLY BLACK WOMAN..THATS ***...
I THINK THA FILM GAVE KINDA A BAD MESSAGE..IT'S JUST ANOTHER NEGATIVE THING TO TALK ABOUT BLACK PPL...THEY SHOULD SHOW WHITE WOMAN ABOUT HOW THEY GET PLASTIC SURGERY ALL THE TIME..HOPEFULLY THAT WOULD BE THE NEXT FILM
I have never had a woman of any other race ask me if my hair was real. If they like it they just tell me my hair is beautiful. I have never had a black man ask me if my hair was real. But I have BLACK WOMEN ask me if my hair is real almost daily. Why do they care? I have no clue.
You have black women constantly wondering what Beyonce's hair looks like under her wigs. It's like most of them want her to be bald. I just don't understand why we are so hard on each other about something so silly as hair.
Its not even about if you dont like him talking about weave dont wear it or its not a secret you wear weave.all these celebrities want to talk about is HAIR. They all admit the underlying causes of black people wearing weave is due to self hate from slavery. so let every1 know we hate ourselves so much we will wear pig hair if it looks good, we will sell our food stamps to get cash to go to the hair store. If its raining we wont go outside. Parents dont buy your daughter a car for graduation buy her a brand new lace front wig. No *** until my next hair appointment
butrpecn
is one of the few people that get the point that the woman is trying to make.
If Chris Rock is so concerned about his daughters' view of their (black) hair, why would he now expose them AND the whole world to such a ridiculous stereotype of black women and black hair?
Thing is, I am madder- yes madder- at the regular women and the stars who are interviewed and sit there smiling perpetuating this ridiculous stereotype!
SMH at them more than C-Rock!!
CHRIS ROCK IS ONE OF THE CORNY-IST(LOL) COMEDIANS THAT CATERS TO WHITE AMERICA (WHITE HUMOR) HE'S ALL ABOUT MAKING A DOLLAR & PRETENDS HE'S DOING IT OUT OF LOVE & CONCERN...THE SAME INFO HE'S TALKING ABOUT WAS REPORTED OVER A YR AGO ON DATELINE HIGHLIGHTING WHERE HAIR COMES FROM & HOW IT IS A BILLION$ INDUSTRY...HE'S REPORTING THE SAME FACTS THAT HAVE ALREADY BEEN REPORTED & IS CAPITALIZING OFF OF FACTS OTHERS HAVE ALREADY RESEARCHED...THAT'S WHY HE'S BEING SUED 4 BASICALLY COPY/PASTING SOME1 ELSE'S RESEARCH..THAT SERVES HIM WELL.THE LOOK ON HIS FACE WHEN BEING CONFRONTED WAS PRICELESS.
Get over it! Your weave *** define you! It's no secret that many entertainers black or white wear weaves...if you are offended by this film, maybe you should go sit and talk to a therapist because obviously you have deep rooted issues! I let a stylist take care of my natural tresses on a regular basis...that keeps my hair healthy and relatively long....if you wear a weave...that's cool nobody really cares as long as you take care of it! Hair does not define a person and if it does, someone has truly traumatized you!
i dont like it either! pookie trying to expose women of color in a negative tone instead of letting a weave just be a weave and call out white celebrities too and focus on it being a woman thang. that skit shouldve been on hbo. he should have included how he spray paints his hair. lol oprah need to stop too. she know thats a half on wig.
Co-sign badbabybird 100%. WTF are u all talking about Chris Rock "exposed" black women's beauty secrets.. LOL.. What was the secret? If something is being exposed, that means someone felt the need to hide it.. and if you need to hide it, you are ashamed. You all need to reflect on why you are ashamed for the rest of the world to know about these "beauty secrets." And like Chis Rock said, why would he make a movie about white and hispanic women's hair woes, when the females he cares most about are Black. That makes no sense.
Good LAWD, I love that man! First of all, I, too, am a Black woman working in corporate America. Out of approximately 150 employees, I am one of FOUR Blacks who work here (and not one of them are male.) In the 6 yrs. I've worked here, I've changed my 'do at least 10 times, each time accompanied by overt stares but never followed up with questions. I think they now know me well enough to expect the change but also know not to ask me about my hair. I don't ask them about their Botox and implants and they don't ask about my hair. That's an inappropriate question in ANY setting, whether it be at the office or at the mall. She seems to be ashamed to be herself and that’s sad that the mindset of our bosses causes some of us to feel the need to be, dress and act like someone else!
@baldwinvillage I agree with you 100 percent, Black people put way to much emphasis on what white people think about us. who gives a ***, when did the opinions of white people matter? lol i don't give a flying *** about their opinions or anyone elses for that matter. The movie was made to give black women self confidence about their natural hair.
No fake nails or hair. No babies don't go clubbing. Like to work. Got an academic high school diploma. My only downfall is I'm not in school. So don't say black women. I was raised right; don't get it twisted. And it's my choice not to where extra hair cause I don't like it. Y is it so unacceptable for us, black women, to where weaves, when it's ok for other races to where extentions? Either way, you buy it; it's yours. You buy human it's not fake.
I cant wait to see this movie, it'll be a girls *** out 4 us. <too bad its only in certain theatres> ...I just went and got my relaxer touched up on Fri and my stylist asked me if I was ever gonna leave the 'cremey crack' alone and I told her yeah right! My hair is mid-way down my back, and this stuff can get overwhelming! And I'm all black, no sugar, no creme in this coffee! ...When I down south tho, I'm always asked if my hair is real. ALWAYS.
HEy Obama Administration Thanks to Chris Rock, Tyra and Oprah theres now going to be a tax hike in hair weave and relaxers instead of sodas. There is now a solution to promote abistence and stop teen pregnancy w/a mandatory no weave law for teenagers because black women CAN'T & WONT get laid unless they have a weave or relaxer. Sorry mothers who just got laid off and apply for food stamps have to sign a waiver they wont trade food stamps for cash to go buy weave or they will be subject to a foodstamp fraud investigation. All due to research from the Blacksplotation *** Good Hair
ALL HOME FORCLOSURES BY BLACKS WERE DUE TO BLACK WOMEN BUYING LACE FRONTS AND RELAXERS AND NOT PAYING THEIR MORGAGE. This data collected from commentary from Chris Rock in his new film Good HAIR
ALL HOME FORCLOSURES BY BLACKS WERE DUE TO BLACK WOMEN BUYING LACE FRONTS AND RELAXERS AND NOT PAYING THEIR MORGAGE. This data collected from commentary from Chris Rock in his new film Good HAIR
Not every woman who wears wigs or weaves are "bald headed" that is a stereo typre althought there are some women who are bald headed. I know plenty of women who wear wigs or weaves who have a full head of long hair or are 100% natural underneath. Most women who do wear weaves & wigs etc do so because they like to be versatile and switch it up from time to time which includes wearing their actual hair whether real (permed) or 100% natural or wigs and weaves.
@Husla: U *** be generalizing, because I dont match any of the criteria u just stated and as a matter of in order 4 me, a single person w/ decent income, to qualify 4 welfare <food stamp benefits> I would have to have 4 children and *** near homeless! That sh-t will never happen! So u need to get ur mind right papi, because every black woman is not a stereotypical 'Shenequa'.
Instead of Chris and Tyra talkn about love yourself stop wearing weave. How about them saying love yourself and your people and invest in yourself instead of HOWWONGFOO Beauty Supply when they just want you to hurry up and buy. How about saying hey black women did you know that altogether you guys spend 5 billion dollars in the beauty industry and it doesnt go to stregnthn your community it goes to people who dont like you and dont know your hair and have you getting silky #27 when you really need yaky#4 and then you cant get a refund have to end up spending more $$ that you dont see
Sed_ and husla r one in the same! Notice how when one appears, the other isn't too far away! I'don't think Sed_ is DaAdvocator! Sed_ has many grammatical and spelling errors! Sed_ is one dumb azz! Lol
@Topic leave blk women and their *** hair alone! Blk men swear they hate weaves, yet every time I get one ud swear that I was movie star cause dudes stalk me!
I'm not the type to always get my hair weaved every month or two because A. 2 much $, B. 2 much time, and C. frankly I get bored with it! I have had natural hair recently that was nice, however I got bored & my hair is thick & too much for 1 woman 2 handle on her own! Relaxed now, and I have found this is the easiest way 4 ME to manage my hair!
Can you imagine the new season of your mama with wilmer valderama the black contestants are going to catch hell:
"yO MAMA is so baldheaded she clip the hair off her toes to add baby hair to her lace front."
Can you imagine the new season of your mama with wilmer valderama the black contestants are going to catch hell:
"yO MAMA is so baldheaded she clip the hair off her toes to add baby hair to her lace front."
thanks Good Hair well never hear the end of the stupid black women jokes
Most non-black people r jealous because bw can wear almost any hair style & get away with it! White & hispanic women look ridiculous with corn rows, flat twist & locks! Some haterz r mad because we can adjust ourselves 2 emulate them but they can't without looking silly! My point is, ur hair doesn't define who u r, as long as it matches ur skin tone is clean, and has the same texture as ur hair have fun, & *** the haterz!
How about Tyra & Chris saying hey corporate America you hate our black hair and hey bw did you know that you cant even get a job at an amusement park or cheap *** resturaunt let alone a promotion or opportunity in corporate America because your natural hair ie;locks fros are considered unkept and go against dress code policy And just to conform to feed her family she would put sodium chloride in her hair so shes not stereotyped? Instead of Hey America the black woman hates her hair! But shes so *** stupid she doesnt even know where the hair comes from
I happen to agree with the young lady who commented on Oprah's show. I am an African-American woman who happens to have long, thick hair that I relax. I get compliments on it. People often ask me if it's "real" or "all mine". I don't that it's necessary to put Black women's business in the street, or cause a national debate.
what black women do to their hair is no secret to anybody. they the ones who put white women on to it. ppl ask me if my hair is real all the time...i take that as quite the compliment. not so sure what she was mad about. if those corporate people that she work alongside look at her in that light, then they're the ones with the issues.
I saw the movie friday *** and it was packed full of spanish and black teens and women. Alot of teen males were their laughing at the women wearing weaves. They were talkin about lauren london still lookin good cause she has a weave but they were saying some of the dark females look ugly. Acouple of white boys were in there questioning what they saw and saying why are black women trying to look white. And alot of them were saying black women dont need weave. Then a immature black teen screamed out thats why I like yellabones.
I actually saw this episode. Apparently this woman was NOT the only one frustrated and irritated by Chris Rock's foolishness called humor. Oprah stated that quite a few women, both black and white wrote in to express their concerns. The heart of the issue is a feminine issue from women of both races. Chris Rock has no business or agenda that supports research or digging into the secrets and core of women products&hair. It is about as sensitive as discussing our personal hygeniene products and menstrual cycles. You just do NOT do it, it is none of a man's business. It is a downright intrusion on our personal space., so to speak. Now, fast forward. As a black woman, we find it to be EVEN more of a intrusion, because of the inferior standing that whites have placed on us in corporate america and mainstream society. If you suggest to them that we have PERSONAL hangups and esteem issues with our hair.., as many choose to ASSUME, then you in fact compromise both our pride, integrity and our varied REASONS for choosing to weave. For example, many women have thinning issues related to Medicine side affects, cancer, female baldness, thyroid and lupus, as well as alopecia. All of these things cause loss of hair. Men inherit loss of hair and balding, and have the choice to SHAVE their heads. Women are frowned upon when they shave their heads. So weave , for many is a NEED.As a stylist i can tell you that MANY women prefer to NEVER discuss their choice , to weave or not to weave.Still for others it is a personal choice of maintenance, style, color change, and accesorizing. Many salons, (as does mine) offer a personal room and private room for weaving. Women are NOT trying to INVITE the male world into this process. And to have a man, a male, expose this in a comedic fashion, a form of mockery, is deplorable. It's extremely tacky, and invading, coming from a MALE!Chris Rock's response was baseless, empty, and totally void of understanding. He just did NOT get where this woman was coming from. He, as many rappers, and successful black role models., have become numb to everyday coroporate America. To respond by saying that white people are not thinking about us. , or our weave was totally besides the point. He missed the point. Typical male. Which means , and proves that men should never IMPEDE themselves into female matters.
Saw the movie yesterday. That movie was created to provoke thought in the Weavie Wonders of the world. This woman is stupid. I get so tired of black people worrying about 'them laughing at us'. What is up with the paranoia? Wear a weave because YOU want to look so - called good, not because you hope everyone thinks it looks like yours. That's a topic for another day. Stupid black women getting Indian or Asian hair knowing good & *** well you never had that texture hair. I feel if you're going to get a weave get one that's believable. I think it looks so stupid and just magnifies your insecuri
And the white men behind me with their friends were saying they never even knew it was that serious when it comes to black women and their hair. So the movie is a mockery to black women and sets us up to be laughed at by everyone even more. Chris rock talks about black women only when it comes to weave. When hes on interviews he then mentions other race of women tanning and doing all that other shy but neva hair. He made this movie to make fun of black women. Alot of black women in the movie was talking to each other in embarrassment and some even walked out because people were laughing.
*con't insecurity. I was looking at Melissa Ford in the film and how her hair is so damaged and thin all on the sides with Hamburger Helper texture but she has on this full, lustrous silky ponytail. ?!?! It's like 'I don't give a ***, just as long as I got something flowing down my back'. I think this film was created to show black women how obsessive and vain and foolish it is to put so much emphasis on something so trivial as hair. Thousand dollar weaves? And the women in the film who had the so called thousand dollar weaves looked like they pulled it straight out a garbage can. What a wast
wHO cares if any1 thinks you wear a weave. Dont make a joke out of black women when you know wsup. The black woman is being judged and made fun of. Who initiated it a black male were just not respected. Its f'd up when a black man with plenty of power and influence wont even respect you but want to talk about you and profit off of you. The celebrities got so much money and soo worried about the chemicals put your $ where your mouth is and invest in some "green" relaxer and other health conscious hair products for black women and give us some jobs. If not sTFu.
e of money. Ask how many of these women own their own homes? How much money do they regularly put away for their children's college fund? Or travel around the world to get some culture. No they're just dropping money to wear their ol' tacky weave that isn't fooling anybody around the block and to work.I remember a time when you got ridiculed for wearing a weave now it's commonplace. And relaxing your hair is damaging but silly negroes will continue to damage their scalp and hair. I've never been a fan of bone straight greased down hair. Again, another unnatural look. I look around and see all
He had a recent interview with tyra and wendy and tyra showed him pics of celebs who wore weave. He had to guess if it was their or not. he guess all the black women wore weave. She then showed him a pic of a white female and he said " WHITE WOMEN DONT WEAR WEAVE" << His whole movie is to talk *** about black women. Using his kids as a excuse has no reason to talk so much about hair weave.
He then had a interview with BET about his movie. The interviewer asked him what was good hair and he said " GOOD HAIR USUALLY COMES FROM BIRACIALS then he caught himself and said "GOOD HAIR IS WHAT CONFIDENT PEOPLE CARRY" <Thats sum ***. All he does is exploit black women. He makes black women a laughing stock
*con't my sisters with balding temples due to the years of relaxing their hair and pulling it as tight as hell and it looks disgusting. And they are getting younger and younger. We need to embrace our hair, have some patience and learn how to work with our hair with all natural products and stop subconciously trying to look anything other than black.
Black people have so many insecurities that are truly futile it's ashame. This is why I don't have a lot of female friends; especially black women. Toooo many insecurities that they then try to pin on you. You say something in innocence and by the time it rolls around in their brain, it's filtered into something totally different, totally misconstrued because everything is filtered through their insecurities.

100% Co-sign! Chris believes because he married and impregnated a black woman, that it some how's gives him the right to discuss this touchy topic! All these black comedians has issues and I'm tired of them using blks as a stepping stone to success! Dave Chapelle, David Allen Grier, Wayne Brady! Knock it off!
egyptexotic Flag post Why don't they do a movie about how white women are obsessed with bleaching their hair blonde, injecting collagen into their lips to make them bigger and tanning/putting bronzer on their skin to appear darker and buying bigger butts! -------------------------- Exellent point. And this was addressed on the show. The white woman that wrote in, took issue with it being brought up. Well, let me be the first to tell you that a movie, either in comic or drama intent, won't ever be done to address their hangups. White men are simply not as DISRESPECTFUL, INVOLVED, and CRITICAL of their women publicly, as black men are. Black men have no problem with exposing and demeaning their women. Both in videos, by use of the term ***, and by pimping, prostituting and impregnating them , and simply walking away. All of these things are a growing problem with our men in celebrity type platforms. The hipocrisy amazes me. In one mouth they laugh and suggest that we should wear our own hair. And that we are trying to be white. Yet they place the european type women in the videos, with weave, and ligher hue skin, only to call them ***?They tend to PREFER these type of women, so why the laughter , critique and mockery. Many of them that critique us, are marrying white women anyway. So, why would you complain at the notion of a black woman who is trying to COMPETE or ACT white, to get you to notice her?or to keep up?Many of you want WHITE or WHITE TYPE of girls anyway. So, it's dumb. It's just an outlet for some black men to get back at, tease, and belittle black women. The insensitivity is just un-nerving to me. Running his fingers through Oprah's hair, and that woman's hair to check for tracks? smdh. Laughing at the fact that others have lumps and bumps in their head, etc.Again, he is mocking something that is not just fashion, but a need to many women. Men get hair replacment and wear toupee's, and scurls. He never ,..addressed men, of either color. Again, why ? The whole *** was tacky. He could have sold it to BET or went straight to DVD with that ghetto foolery.
...here we go again...another reason to kick us down another level
........sigh....as if we (I) dont get enough questions about hair...When this movie was first advertised I envisioned some white person standing behind me laughing at my overly thick head of hair---they will never again believe I grew this ***

Um I hear what u r saying, but in the same token women should be allowed to wear their hair the way they like it;free of judgement & ridicule! When I wear a weave, I don't do it 2 fool anyone! I do it because it A It Looks nice B. Is easier to manage ( for instance. I work out & sweat)! When my hair is wet I can't wash it due to over drying & if its natural it will shrink to a tight coil)! I try not 2 have my tracks showing, but I could care less what white, hispanic or blk people have 2 say about it! I know who I am, & as long as I do *** everyone else!
why would u be angry about this!?... black women spend more money on there hair than anything else, hair is like an acessory to us. please don't be offened by this movie its nothing but the truth & its a great *** from what I've seen its not making us look 'ghetto' or anything its just stating facts about OUR hair !!
aniyaqt Flag post HE EXPLOITS BLACK WOMEN B U T HE HAS A BLACK WIFE! YALL' SOUND REALLY STUPID NOW! ------------------- He Interestingly enough., never DISCUSSED this movie idea with his wife. Did you NOT see the interviews he did? He never told her what he was doing UNTIL after it was done. I found that to be quite an eyeopener. He knew that for one, SHE , WIFEY wears weave. Also, with that in mind, she may have taken issue with, and critiqued him heavily on it. His wife is a very savvy, intellengent black woman. I've heard her speak and place herself at the forefront of humanitarian and social issues. I think that privately, she would have taken issue with this ghetto foolery. But, we all need a paycheck. lol But at what expense? Certainly, this woman and millions of others have valid points and issues that are fact based. He cannot sweep his people's concerns under the rug ,and use the EXCUSE that " I am black too". It's ignorant. Blacks , have been found to be the MOST destructive to it's race in many cases. Jayz, Luda and the various rappers that continue to use the *** word, and the *** word EXPLOIT us as well. Yet they are black and have black wives/girlfriends. So what? ?? dismiss them as bald headed, no man having heffas? lol that is ignorant.Typical ghetto response. Women, again, weave for different reasons. It is NONE of a black man's business, why she does it. Do we ask black men why they shaved their head? Do we ask them if they were balding or had the bozo clown hairline kicking in, and elected to shave? Do women ask men that? No, we do not. We accept them as they are. We do NOT mock them. Many of them are sensitive about losing their little hair., and having to shave. Michael Jordan , for example, popularized this look. He shaved , however, because he had a receding hairline, that causes loss of hair in the front. Stevie Wonder has the same issue. Again, it is ONE"S choice to shave or not to shave. Should we produce a movie about this male...process? Invite blackwomen into the barbershop, and hair replacement center... to laugh and point? ..explore the costs..etc...I think that black men would be offended.

I don't go broke getting a weave put in! I maybe get it twice or three times a year! I'm not one of those chicks that's can't step outside without a weave! Lol! I have done the natural thing, and I know what it is! It doesn't make me any less black then sisters with locks or two-strand twist! Starting a buisness is easier said then done! But they r def loans that r willing to front the money to minorities! Hell where do u think the Koreans, Dominicans and Chinese all got their *** from!
lmao. Im not tryna fool any1 nor am i baldheaded. I dnt kno about the other ppl. I am just really confused about sum of ur comments. They sum how come off aggressive. I hav no prob w/ my hair. w/ the texture of my hair, if i dnt go 2 the salon I look a hot mess. Currently becuz im a f/t student w/ a fam i dnt hav $ for anything with regards 2 haircare besides my nexxus shampoo& conditioner, virgin coconut oil, 6wk trim, & salon relaxer every six weeks. I get up at 5 to get to class 4 8am. Its easier for me to wear a wig, or fall plus more cost efficient. 20-30/mo vs 200-300/mo.

Dumb ! Comedy is one thing, but low level ignorance, is another. He gave conflicting answers when questioned. And saying things like, white women do not wear weave"..and "biracial hair is good hair"etc...clearly showed his lack of intelligence and research.I found it interesting that Robin Roberts...of GMA..showed his various hairstyles through the years. Which included geri curls and s curls. smdh.It just seems as though black producers, and film makers can FEED blacks ANY thing.Movies like Booty Call,..etc.and this nonsense.. Low self esteem, low class, and slave mentality allow them to dismiss it as hating.., when you voice an critique or oppinion. PLAYA hating? sigh..so sick of blacks overly use of the term "hatin'. There is a book called beautiful blk hair by shamboosie. He touches on weave. Its a manual for our hair. So i can take care of my own to an extent since I cant go to the salon every week. KayJay508 Oh & one more thing, it seems like majority of the women who are offended are the ones who wear weave. ~Snickering~
Doesn't bother me one bit cuz I don't wear weave. LOL. ****************** @KayJay508- hey girl! *waves* Co-sign. I was LOL when I saw the previews for this movie. It doesn't bother me in the slightest considering I wear my OWN NATURAL hair as well. There is something so LIBERATING and stress free as a black woman once the decision is made to go natural. More sistas should follow suit and leave the FAKE PLASTIC wigs alone. Think about it.. If ALL sistas went-
cont- natural the BROTHERS and the other races wouldn't have SH.I.T on us to talk about because we are NATURALLY BLESSED with thick, full lips, ample behinds, and curves for days! We sistas are the business and too bad if other fools can't see that.
@Blueboy- Who are you calling nappy? Anyway there is nothing wrong with "nappy" hair. I'm sure your hair is NAPPY. It kills me when BLACK men tease black women about our supposedly "bad" nappy hair...SMH.. Like HELLO?? And what the hell do these brothers think they got?? Y'all *** got nappy hair that a sista can't run her hands through too.

@DEEP_EAST_OAKLAND_P ,,,,, smdh. you are being hipocritical.. You all spend thousands of dollars on rims. I had no idea, until recently. why? because it was none of my business. I never really asked men i've dated., about the shiny expensive looking rims on their cars. Hell, in many cases i thought it came with the car. I recently went in a rim shop one day to replace the rim on my Camry. (long story) it was a factory rim, and they did not have it. They offered me a full set of rims...(so that they would all match)costing more than a thousand bucks. From that encounter,I found out that guys finance these rims..basically paying a car note two times over, just to get rims..,for a car that ACTUALLY came with factory rims when you bought it. lol Are rims more or less trivial than weave?I digress.

Some of these black male losers just LOVE to berate sistas for any little thing because they secretly feel insecure with themselves ------------------- Hey girl. It's simply tacky, and an invasion of our personal space, when it comes from them. Again, the woman in the Oprah audience DID not have weave in her hair. The notion that ALL of us wear weave, will increase based on this ghetto foolery. Men with class, and intellligence are not concerned about women's hair. It is our personal space, and that is the point. So yes, any man that is chiming in, is doing so in an effort to BELITTLE black women. Yet they rave over the chicks in the videos that have fake hair. A double standard. They pine over white women, who unbeknownst to them have weave too.Janet Jackson and Beyonce have fake hair, guys. Paris Hilton, and Britney Spears do too.Get over it. But , don't ASSUME that we all have it. Don't be hipocritical, and praise these type of women, then turn around and try to degrade everday 9to5 ladies. Just superficial.

@fire4u- So true. Black men can be cruel towards us (especially the ones in the entertainment industry). You have NEVER, EVER, EVER seen and WILL NEVER SEE a BLACK female director making a movie entitled "Black men vs. White men business" in which she questions to the point of berating why Black men don't own their own banks, malls, grocery stores, government, or even own a shoe factory compared to white men. NOW Black men would be ALL in open arms against that lol
@DEEP_EAST_OAKLAND_P- I see where you're coming from.. But you like MANY black men berate sistas about their FAKE hair and question why she isn't wearing it natural but YET will date/wife a non-black woman with long silky hair?! It doesn't make sense to me. What do black men want from sistas? Its either *** if you do or *** if you dont.
OKAY, NOW, FOR THE RECORD, I TOTALLY DISAGREE WITH THE NOTION THAT WOMEN THAT ROCK IT 24/7 HAVE ESTEEM ISSUES. NOT IN ALL CASES. YOU HAVE TO EXAMINE WHY. AGAIN, THERE ARE VARIOUS REASONS WHY THEY MAY BE DOING IT.THE GIRL IN THE AVI WITH THE BABY EXPLAINED THAT SHE WAKES UP AT 5 AM,SCHOOL, WORK, HAS A BUSY SCHEDULE AND IT IS MORE CONVENIENT, MAINTENANCE WISE. THERE SEEMS TO BE A FEELING THAT WOMEN THAT DONOT WEAR WEAVE THINK THAT THEY ARE SOMEHOW BETTER OR LESS FAKE THAN THOSE WHO DO. SO , AGAIN, MISCONCEPTION.IT DIVIDES US, AND MAKES US DEFEND THE CHOICE TO WEAR OR NOT TO WEAR. I DO NOT WEAR WEAVE., BUT I HAVE A *** RAZOR CUT, THAT IS EASY TO MAINTAIN. PLUS I CAN DO MY OWN HAIR, QUITE WELL. I ACTUALLY WEAR A *** CUT, AS DEPICTED IN THE AVI. MY HAIR IS JUST LIKE NIA LONG'S, AND A BIT SIMILAR TO RHIANNA'S SOMETIMES. YES, IT IS ***. I CUT IT!I ROCK IT WELL, TRUST ME. CALL ME A BALD HEAD HEFFA IF YA WANT TOO, BUT IT WAS A STYLE CHOICE! LOL! SO IT IS IGNORANT TO SUGGEST BLACK WOMEN ARE BALD ETC...WHEN IN FACT THERE ARE A LOT OF REALLY HOT STYLES THAT ARE ***.,AND SELECTED AS A STYLE CHOICE. KANYE'S GIRL(AMBER) SEEMS TO HAVE DELIBERATELY CUT HERS OFF. GROW UP, PEOPLE. HAIR IS FASHION.
I'm telling you, there are a lot of crazy *** sisters, who need to wake the fúck up, with that hair ***ít! Notice how the chick in the video emphasizes how her hair is nice, and how she went out and got her hair nice? They not only are they obsessed with the euro centric ideology of beauty, they have allowed their standard of beauty to be defined by the very people who don't like them. Its so bad, that chicks are fúcking white boys and Spanish dudes, in order to have children with strait hair, all of this to allow her weave to look more believable.
And now that a brother is basically saying, that black woman natural hair has a beauty on its own, they are more worried about being laughed by white women! I don't see white chicks being afraid of being laugh at for wear fake ***, tanning their skin, and lip operations to make them look bigger and more like a black woman's.
My momma bad 4 taking me 2 the salon every wk growing up! Now i cant fix my own hair. Yea im lazy *** hell stayin up studying biology, fixing meals, cleaning house wrkin out. Yea do my own hair? Sh!t I just learned 2 polish my own toes lmao! Its *** that ppl accuse others of being insecure when the fact that u state & protest that u hav ur own natural hair as if u r sum higher level, & u deserve a badge r sumthing only goes 2 that u r a simple individual. I dnt sit around & speculate why a person wears their hair natural...oh is she a overly pbw? I just assme its a preference.
I still don't understand why people are offended by this movie. In what way is this degrading?
I understand that white women wear weaves too. But you all cannot say that there isn't a difference in the AMOUNT of weaves that "black beauty supply" stores carry versus the AMOUNT that "white beauty supply" stores carry. There's a reason for that.
Saying that "white women do it too" is just a way of ignoring the issue at hand.

I disagree! Everyone's hair is different! My mama has soft curly hair, however I have my father's hair;very thick & course! When I used 2 work out, I would sweat my 10inch afro, into a 2inch fro! LOL!!! I used Ms. Jessie's Curly pudding & other products but ultimately when it wasn't freshly washed it was hard to manage! Combing it reminded me of my childhood with Blue magic grease and hot combs! LOL! The longer it got, the harder it was 4 me 2 keep it looking presentable! At *** It would take me 21/2hrs to braid!
Now I have relaxed hair, and its easy! I ocassionlly get wash and sets and have it relaxed every 2 months! I mostly do my own hair and let my hair air dry! No heat! It has a nice texture when I do this, and if I want more I will braid it! with natural hair, it took me so long to do that! I say to each his/her own!
@ DEEP EAST OAKLAND...HA HA! AGAIN, YOU MISSED THE POINT. THE COMPARISON WAS MADE BECAUSE YOU BROUGT UP COST. I WANTED TO SHOW YOU THE HIPOCRISY OF A BLACK MAN TO MENTION COST, AS IT RELATED TO TRIVIAL PURCHASES. A WEAVE IS A PURCHASE, SO ARE RIMS. WEAVES CAN BE USED OVER AND OVER AGAIN, AND ARE NOT FAKE.,..AS YOU SUGGEST. WEAVE IS REAL HAIR. GET YA FACTS RIGHT. LOL !WE WILL AGREE THAT IT IS NOT THE RECIPIENT'S GROWING HAIR, BUT NONE THE LESS, IT IS NOT HORSE HAIR. YOU GUYS SOUND IGNORANT , AND DEMEAN THE PROCESS.SOME OF YOU GUYS SOUND REALLY OLD AND ANCIENT. LIKE OLD FOLKS. I SAY THAT BECAUSE, MY MOTHER AND GRANDMA ARE USUALLY THE TYPES THAT SAY"WEAR YOU OWN HAIR BABY". LOL. IT'S OUT DATED THINKING. VERY OLDSKOOL..! THE HIGHER END EXPENSIVE WEAVES AND WIGS CAN BE USED OVER AND OVER AGAIN, ...SO YOU, JUST LIKE CHRIS ROCK, HAVE NOT DONE YOUR RESEARCH. ALSO, WEAVE DOES NOT COST 1,000.00. YOU ARE MISINFORMED IF YOU THINK THAT IS THE CASE. CHRIS ROCK, IN HIS IGNORANCE, ONLY ADDRESSED HIGHER PRICED HAIR. IN AN EFFORT TO OVER INFLATE THE MESSAGE. WEAVE , ON AVERAGE, COST 20.00 A BAG. HIGHER END INDIAN WEAVE STARTS AT AROUND 80.00 PER BAG.AGAIN, YOUR AVERAGE SISTA IS SPENDING AT, OR AROUND THAT COST. I KNOW, BECAUSE I DO HAIR. AGAIN, IT IS REUSABLE. YOUR RIMS, ARE NOT A NECESSITY.,... BUT WEAVE, FOR MANY WOMEN IS.. YOUR CAR "CAME" WITH RIMS. WHY ARE YOU SPENDING MONEY ON MORE? AND YOU DON'T OWN A HOME.AT LEAST WE WOMEN, OWN HOMES, BABE.. LOL LOL LOL
@HandsomeStallion I have to call you out on your ***, as a black man myself black women are not "fu_cking" white and spanish men to have children with "straight" hair. Black Men are guilty of that very claim, black men date interracially at 3 times the rate as black women. If you ask me black women's self hate shows on the outside but the black men's self hatred is internal. Most not all jump at the chance to have children with a light skinned women. So cut out the bias ***.
Manifest, lmao, where did I say black women date interracially more? Don't be so silly. I very rarely hear a black man says he wants kids with a non-black woman so their child has good hair. RARELY. Why there are those men who date non-black women, the reasons very, but good hair is at the very bottom. On the other hand, I've seen and heard many black women who intentionally get pregnant by non black-men so their children have good hair. That's the more frequent reason. Women are more obsessed with their child's beauty than men, especially if it's a girl. Don't be so naive.
You will see many shampoos and conditioners that contain vitamins and minerals; these vitamins and minerals do absolutely nothing for the hair or scalp. Since hair is dead, it can't be helped by any additional vitamins and minerals. And these substances are not absorbed through the skin; they have to be ingested to be of any use to your body. So stop buying useless product and learn how to really take care of your hair.
And finally..this is wat I will tell my daughter (who is a set of twins, the pic is the boy twin), she has thick hair that curls wun wet &straightens wit lil effort, it like mine is more poofy than coarse. I will tell her- U R A SPIRIT IN A HUMAN EXPERIENCE. UR MORE THAN UR PHYSICAL ATTRIBUTES. U R MORE THAN UR SKIN & HAIR. MORE THAN UR MIND CUD GRASP. STAY TRU 2 GOD 1ST& URSELF MOST. DNT ALLOW OTHER PPLS THOUGHT OF U DETERMINE HOW U CHOOSE 2 LIVE UR LIFE.

ONE WHO LOOKS DOWN ON CERTAIN BLACKS.HE MAKES IT A POINT TO MENTION THAT HE WAS RAISED AND "SCHOOLED" AROUND WHITES. AS IF THOUGH THAT IS NOTEWORTHY. SIGH... WITH THAT SAID, DOING A FILM THAT DEPICTS YOUR PEOPLE, YOUR WOMEN , IN A CONDESCENDING, GHETTO , CONTROVERSIAL SORT OF WAY, SERVES NO PURPOSE. MEN DON'T TALK AND EXPRESS THINGS., LIKE WOMEN DO. DEEP WITHIN, MANY OF THEM WANT THE "GOOD HAIR" BABY. MOST MIXED RACE FOLKS LIKE HALLE BERRY HAVE BLACK DADS, NOT WHITE DADS. SO NOW WHAT? AGAIN, THEY SHOW IT WITH ACTIONS. EXPRESSING IT IS VERY FEMININE AND SHALLOW,SO NO, YOU WILL NOT FIND THEM SAYING THAT MESS TO THEIR HOMEBOY, OVER BEER. LOL!BUT I ACTUALLY DO RECALL, THAT NEYO MENTIONED IT.,. IN A RADIO INTERVIEW THAT MTO POSTED ON HERE. ALSO THERE ARE UTUBE VIDEOS DEPICTING DARK SKIN MEN WITH LIGHTER OR WHITE WOMEN BY THE THOUSANDS. IS THAT THEIR WAY OF "SILENTLY" WANTING MULATTO GOOD HAIR CHILDREN?SO, ALL MEN MAY NOT VERBALIZE, BUT IT IS CERTAINLY IN THE BACK OF THEIR MINDS. BECAUSE THEY ARE ASHAMED OF THEIR OWN DARK, NEGROID, SAMMY FEATURES. A WHITE OR LIGHTER WOMEN DOWNPLAYS OR TONES DOWN HIS SAMBO LIKE COLOR TONE,..(IN THEIR MIND)SO, COMMON SENSE DICTATES THAT THERE ARE "ISSUES" THERE.
I haven't seen the movie but I don't think we should take it personal. Chris R was motivated by his daughter's reaction with her friend's hair. This is how our obsession with our hair began. It began with envying other ppl who had a different grade of hair and the media. As a bw, I should say we need to come out of denial because many of us are in denial and the truth hurts. Most of us have used the term "good hair" and have envied ppl with "good hair."
@ DEEP EAST OAKLAND.. CLEARLY YOU DID NOT READ MY VERY FIRST BLOG. I EXPRESSED THE ISSUE. CHRIS ROCKS LACK OF RESEARCH , IS THE ISSUE. THE MOVIE IS GHETTO FOOLERY, THAT DOES NOT ADEQUATELY DEPICT , OR COVER BLACK HAIR ISSUES. IT'S STERETYPICAL , NEGRO, LOW CLASS ART.JUST LIKE THE MOVIE,"BOOTY CALL". IT SERVES NO PURPOSE,BASED ON THE WAY THAT IT WAS PORTRAYED.IN ANOTHER BLOG, I TALKED ABOUT MY"OWN" HAIR.DID YOU NOT SEE THAT?I HAVE A CUT JUST LIKE NIA LONG'S IN THE AVI. LOVE IT! IT IS ***.,BY CHOICE. NOW, WITH THAT SAID, WHEN WE SAY IT IS ***,.YOU ALL SPEW OUT NAMES LIKE YOU"BALD HEAD HEFFA". LOL! BLACK MEN ARE A TRIP. HELL, WHAT DO YOU WANT? IT IS MY OWN HAIR. *** , CROPPED, SASSY STYLE, AND YA STILL GOT SOMETHING TO SAY. WHICH IS WHY WE DO WHAT WE WANT, AS IT RELATES TO HAIR. BUT, AS A STYLIST, I'M STILL DEFENDING THE USE OF WEAVE. AGAIN, I SAID,"MIND YOUR BUSINESS". MEN SHOULD NOT BE PEEKING IN ON FEMALE FEMININE AFFAIRS. I NEVER EVER GO TO THE BARBER SHOP WITH MY MAN. LOL. AND COULD CARE LESS HOW HE CHOOSES TO CUT IT. AS LONG AS HE CUTS IT. LOL
Reflecting back on these comments is really making me realize a few things! Oneofakind u seem very judgemental and closed minded! U should learn that people r indivduals and will do them regardless! Criticism is a childs game that I don't play! Do u buy black owned only? Do u rent or own? Do u own ur own buisness? Do u encorage others to do so? Was the computer or wireless phone that u r using to log on black made? Do u give back to ur community?
My point is what a blk woman does with her hair is the least of our worries! I don't mind seeing a woman with locks, or a funky fro! That is her, and I enjoy people doing them! If its not for u, then u r free to state that and keep it moving however 2 suggest that blk women r ashamed, or r trying to look white is offensive! No matter how hard a sister tries she can never b white..nor should she want 2!
@ TASTYSIS----U GOTZ 2 B THE DUMMEST THING OUT HERE! LOL THAT I'M CONUSED WHEN UR THE F U C I ***' IGNORANT A Z Z ! COMMENTING ON S H I T YOU DON'T KNOW!
FYI...BLUBOY STATED THAT MOST WHT WOMEN DON'T WEAR WEAVES & ITS THE BLK WOMEN WHO R OBSESSED W/ WEAVE...I SAID THAT THEY'RE RUNNIN' NECK 2 NECK IN THIS THING!
MY POINT WAS THAT THE WOMAN ON THE TAPE NEEDS 2 SIT HER A S S DOWN TRYING 2 TELL C. ROCK WHAT HIS MOVIE.."HIS MOVIE" IS ABOUT WHEN IN FACT SHE SAID SHE DID *** O T SEE THE MOVIE! HOW IGNORANT IS THAT? OPRAH HERSELF SAID THIS MOVIE "DOES NOT" DEGRADE BLK WOMEN AT ALL!

Girl I feel the same way about u! Do u not understand what double talking means? That was the easiest I could have explained being a walking contradiction! That's right u do hair..let me slow it down. I read what blu_boy wrote, and then I read ur response! Then u wrote about baldheaded women, blah, blah, blah! FYI if u follow O...then ur even more lost then I thought! Tootles!

Society is male driven, & he put this movie out becuase he thought it would be a successfully funny comedy that would make him some dough! That isn't cool! Then there r self rightous ppl out here telling me what I should or *** spend my money on! Enough!

black chicks kill me with this 'i hate white women but i wish i could look like them' b.s. ------------- WOW! WHERE IS THIS TYPE OF FOOLERY FORM OF THINKING STEMMING FROM? WHAT BLACK WOMAN HAVE YOU EVER HEARD SAY, THEY WANNA BE LIKE WHITE WOMAN? OR THAT THEY WANNA BE WHITE. WEAVE HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH BEING WHITE. YOU GUYS LOVE TO GIVE THEM SO MUCH CREDIT.THIS FORM OF THINKING IS ANTEQUATED, OUTDATED, AND SOMETHING YOUR GRANNY WOULD SAY. CAN WE GET YOU ALL INTO THE 21RST CENTURY PLEASE. DANG. WEAVE IS FASHION. AIN'T NOBODY THINKING ABOUT A WHITE WOMAN WHEN THEY ARE SEWING OR BONDING IN THEIR HAIR. LOL. ACTUALLY, MOST OF MY CLIENTS BRING IN PICTURES OF BLACK WOMEN HAIR STYLES. DEPICTIONS OF BLACK STYLES.ETC..FROM BLACK MAGAZINES..ETC..BLACK WOMEN ARE TRYING TO GET SOMETHINGTHAT IS EASY TO MAINTAIN, THAT IS FASHION TRENDY, CUTE, SEXY, AND FLEXIBLE..ETC. HAS LITTLE TO DO WITH...OH, I WANNA LOOK LIKE ANGELINA JOLIE..OR JESSICA SIMPSON. THAT IS SOME CORNY ***.LOL. YOU ALL ARE SOME OLD *** SITTING AROUND THINKING ABOUT ANCIENT SLAVERY, AND HOW,..BLACKS WANT WHITE HAIR. AGAIN, HAIR IS FASHION, AND TREND. REMEMBER IN THE 70'S I GUESS, WHEN MICHAEL JACKSON AND WHOMEVER ELSED ROCKED THE FRO. THEN THAT 'S WHAT WE DID,AS BLACKS.... ROCKED THE AFRO. HAIR IS FASHION. ONCE UPON A TIME, IT WAS GERI CURLS..NO WEAVE. GERI CURLS. BLACK FOLKS ROCKED THE GERI CURLS. SO AGAIN, HAIR IS FASHION.LATER, IT WAS MICROBRAIDS AND CORNROWS. BRANDY POPULARIZED THAT TREND, BLACK WOMEN FOLLOWED SUIT.FAST FORWARD....AND NOW... WEAVE IS THE NEW TREND. IT JUST BECAME POPULAR AND MORE MAINSTREAM, IN RECENT YEARS.NO ONE IS COPYING BECKY. WE ARE FOLLWING TRENDS, AND MOST OFTEN ARE COPYING THE CURRENT"BLACK" TRENDS.

You are dead on...please email me if you get read this message...I'm writing a book about beauty...anjerdine@yahoo.com, artsempower@yahoo.com
here's what you said:
I actually saw this episode. Apparently this woman was NOT the only one frustrated and irritated by Chris Rock's foolishness called humor. Oprah stated that quite a few women, both black and white wrote in to express their concerns. The heart of the issue is a feminine issue from women of both races. Chris Rock has no business or agenda that supports research or digging into the secrets and core of women products."
Well I been around both black and white women, and a lot of black women have fake hair, or have tried to wear it at one point, but for many that wear it, their are many black women that dont wear fake hair. The only black women that I usually dont see with fake hair are the ones that have long hair, or they come from a upper middle class back ground, and this is not always the case. A lot of white women that I have noticed that wear the fake hair are the ones who have money, or the young white girls that have money, not the average white women that you see walking down the street.
@ TASTYSIS--BTW...WHO THE H E LL SAID THAT I DO HAIR IN MY MOM'S BASEMENT? I'M NOT GOIN EVEN COMMENT ON THAT STUPID REMARK CUZ IT TAKES A GHETTO A S S--B I T C H 2 KNOW ONE!

*sigh* This is why black people can't get anywhere. We are so *** defensive. All of us. You can't make any statement, any movie, any *** criticizing ANYTHING that black people do, men, women or otherwise without negroes gettinf, mad, getting sensitive and defensive, or using the age old "SO, SO, WHAT ABOUT WHITE PEOPLE WHO DO IT?"
Bottom line: Its SAD that there are women who feel like they HAVE to have straight hair to be beautiful. If it is a style you choose, that's one thing, but you don't have to have bone straight hair or weave to be attractive.
billy24kid Flag post RACIST SED SAID SOMETHING EVERY BLACK MAN NEEDS TO HEAR EVEN THOUGH WE ALREADY KNOW IT HE SAID READ HIS BLOGG HE SAID BLACK WOMEN ARE STUPID BECAUSE THEY STAB THEIR NATURAL PARTNERS IN THE BACK ---...Umm yeah! thats what he means, black women are the root of all your problems...so stay away from black women...cause thats whats best for black men--run, run....whitey is waiting to swoop you up with open arms! Once you walk away and never look back ...they are going to make sure your better educated, recieve better employment
And yes, there are a lot of men, black men, who are *** sick of meeting women with fake hair, fake nails, a ton of makeup, wearing stuff that pulls in their stomach and pushes up their breasts and pokes out their ***. Its like you don't know the real woman for weeks after you meet her. Ridiculous. Look, a lot of black men don't like weave. If a man doesn't like that stuff, he doesn't like it. If you are truly comfortable with your weave, then don't let that view bother you, but you can't get mad because someone isn't feeling your look.
-cont- and the most important thing of all....he is going to teach you how to think for yourself...so when you do come across some information that may not be to your best advantage...you will be able to make wise decisions...and why will he do all these wonderful things for you, you ask?
....cause he knows you have no respect for your own kind.
Congradulations...you have NOW arrived! Good Luck!
WOW!!
Their are some low self esteem women raising black children in America. SMH. Even worse these same women believe they are better than their natural partner the Black man because the larger white society (their enemy) says so.
You Negreses dont understand that no white man is afraid of a black woman. Many of you offer undying servitude, ***, and assistance at destroying the black family. The same family you are in charge of raising.
Black men should view this web site on a weekly basis to realize that 75% black women are under a spell and you must selct carefully.
Tennis
Wrong. Black Men do care who are conscious. Who wants a Black child to be taught to be self hating by their own mother.
I do not date black women with kids, weaves, and those that are over-weight.
I've come to realize that the seed is more important than the ground it is planted though one should wish for good soil; the seed is more important. seed = man / soil = woman
Black women are easily manipulated and this is the nature of women. Period.
Tennis
Wrong. Black Men do care that are conscious. Which man wants a Black child to be taught to be self hating by their own mother.
Black men should not date black women with (however this depends) kids, weaves, and those that are over-weight.

Black women are easily manipulated and this is the nature of women. Period. Select carefully!!
Okay, I can see that all of you like this division spirit working on here. It is silly to say black women hate their men when black women are the ones having them. I see black women over protect their sons way to often and that is why the ones that are on here are saying stupid things. We should all care no matter who births or gives us seed to have a family. We also need to be married to one another. There isn't a conspiracy theory about some women running to white guys about black men. Black women don't have to because black men are already there especially the *** ones.
Good hair and racist sayings came from racism. It should be thrown out like dirty bath water. A lot of you need to grow up and stop viewing just your skin or your hair. Black men way back use to conk their hair in the '20 on and part their Afros...so who cares. Women of all races like to look different. Being English I know wigs have been used in Europe forever and along with add-in pieces of hair called Falls. Most wigs are straight haired anyway. I think it was really big in Hollywood movies..never went out of style for white women. Why do you have to make yourselves seem not human?
You should all love the fact that you look different. You have different hair, variety in skin colours and come from many beautiful places. I wish black men would stop listening to idol gossip (the division spirit) value himself for himself and the black women too. You guys need to learn to love yourselves then you can love each other. Stop repeating dead seeds and water some new seeds.
You are Human Beings so stop trying to examine yourselves all the time trying to get others to accept that when we all know you can never get anybody that is racist (which is a sick abusive state of mind)to accept you for who and what you are...they don't like anyone anyway not even themselves. Make some dream movies and stop doing the 'sambo look at me movies.' You don't have be gangsters or 'hos' you can be proud to be you.
This movie will only put you under a microscope again. Sad to say even if you hair is *** they still think it is a weave because they want to believe the worse because that is what low self esteem minds do so don't join into this horrible state of being. Please black people don't go see this movie. If you can't go see a happy black man and black woman love story how can you go see this trash? You need to have happier uplifting movies and not the *** of a joke movies. Look at what black men and women have accomplished. Keep it going don't let anyone tear you down. G-d loves you all.
This movie proves all us black women need to stand up and take a bow.
Once again we are the peak interest on everyone's mind. Why didn't Chris make a movie discussing issues of black men considering he is one?
You want to know why he didn't? Because BLACK WOMEN ARE MORE FASCINATING!
Even when we are at our worst, everybody still wants to know what's going on with us, why we do this, why we do that, what we think of this, what we think of that.
This is why so many try to belittle us because they know they will never possess the natural allure we give off.
I think it's funny Chris is upset about the very thing that probably attracted him to his wife in the first place. But because he has daughters all of a sudden it's an issue?
Maybe because he knows the same ignorant *** ideologies he has about black women and their hair, someone is going to have the same stigma against his daughters.
Black women, keep doing you because no matter what you do, somebody is always going to wonder what the hell you doing like it's any of their business anyway, LMAO!
I just don't get some of you people. Let me tell you something, there is no right or wrong. Everybody is entitled to his/her own opinion. It's not fair for some of you to call some of us "Defensive" or "Insecure" just because you don't agree. That doesn't mean that person is "Insecure". Everybody don't view things the same way you might view something. If you liked the movie, then fine, but don't get mad at others because they felt different. You can only speak for YOURSELF.
i dont know why she mad, black woman dont understand that we got something wonder full on top of our head, we can do anything to our hair and still look wonderful, we have a new style every week, white ppl try to look and sound like us, im not mad about it but we need to understand that black ppl r the most coolest ppl on the planet and i think black woman need to love and honor everything about them self even there hair
