When people ask my ethnicity, I tell them that I'm white and black (people usually think I'm Puerto Rican) however, I am classified as African-American. But, it DOES NOT MEAN that I'm any less proud of my mother's heritage and my racial background.

If you think that what you said was "truth" then I feel sorry for you... it's a shame that in 2009, people aren't more openminded and realizing that the US is nothing but mixed people... NO ONE is 100% ANYTHING... which is what makes this country great. @ Tastysis... I don't think ppl date black, white, bi-racial, puerto rican, asain, etc.... because it's something different. I mean, that may be the case sometimes, but I think most people date who they are attracted to... for me, if ur attractive, ur attractive... white, black, etc.... it doesn't matter. My husband's ppl don't "seek" mixed women, they, like most ppl see a person who they find attractive and that's it. It's not about race at all...

my boyfriend is american indian and black. and hes very very light. hes more american indian than black his dad is black and his mom is full american indian. on his birth certificate and ids has him labled as american indian as his race and he also has to bubble in american indian as a race. so its not true about mixed people being labled as what your father is.
