According to New York State law, dreadlocks are almost always forbidden.We reached out to a lawyer friend of ours to find out Wayne's sentence means for his almost waist-length locks.
"Male prisoners are only allowed to wear their hair in cornrows, going straight back. And they can't exceed the "natural hairline" in length. Now of course our question is: what does "natural hairline" mean?

okay they whole thing about in nys inmates cant were dreads they can only were braids or whatever umm thats not tru i live in tha nys area and my husband is locked up and he has dreads and hes doing his time in a state prison in nys and they let him keep his dreads in order 4 wayne 2 keep his dreads his lawyer has 2 put in a motoins in his paper work and ask the judge can he or she follow thru with it if she say yes than he can keep it if not yea he gona have 2 cut off his hair but even when u have braids in your hair in tha nys they will make u cut if off if your paperwork dont say other
