i am soooooo glad i decided to take african american history classes in college. not only were they the most interesting classes i had ever taken but they made me realize how amazing it is to be black and how i should NEVER be ashamed of who i am and what i look like. growing up i went to catholic prep schools so i was constantly around white people...there were even times that i didn't want to associate with black people because i was so blinded. i am glad that i learned about my culture and history and i'm even more glad that i am married to a beautiful black man :)

BTW, I don't believe that most black people want to lose their pigmentation so that they can become white. Not having any pigmentation is akin to being an "albino" which can result in serious burns from sun exposure and other unpleasant skin conditions. Also, the resulting transparent looking skin color is not particularly attractive so I am not sure why anyone would want to go through a lot of hassle in order to have a transluscent skin color. I saw a show about this on HBO! Sadly they do this stuff in Africa too. It's some kind of bleaching system they use that peels the skin color right off of you. A lot of people get cancer from doing this, and also a lot of mental disorders it is really dangerous. They do it in London too, they get in a big bath of a skin bleach called quiton, or some name like that. It is a straight cancerous chemical, that is not allowed to be sold in some coutnries.
I don't believe it has anything to do with vitiligo. I've seen people wit vitiligo it starts off with patches, or spots, and they're white and very noticable and though they spread pretty quickly it takes time even for those patches to spread over a large percentage of the body.
The picture of him in May 2009 still wearing the colored contacts, is just a 6 month difference there's no way in Sam heck that it could've spread throughout his entire body that fast, and vitiligo DOES NOT cover the entire body people, it's only percentages.

Vitiligo is an auto-immune disease mostly appears between the ages 11 on up, it can appear at any age though earlier for women later for men. Lupus triggers most skin diseases, but I never heard Sammy mention any lupus or auto-immune effects. It seems like he just stems from insecurities to me and tried to fix something about himself and it didn't turn out like it thought he would. Continued: I was there this past summer and skin bleaching is very common over there even their commercials fair *** lovely are very harsh towards Indians of darker skin which is sad. As far as colorism within the black race. Opposites attract. The people who are dark and have dark parents tend to be intrigued by fair skin and vice versa. Light skin guys, mixed guys and guys that have been looking at fair/pale skin all their lives are the first to jump at brown skin. Most of the blk models/actresses you see are brown skinned. Guys who preach that *** will fall to their knees at the sight of Sanaa, Megan, or Toni. Even Halle/Barak are darker than most with one white parent.
