What happened? Well Ron has a sister named Latoya Holmes-Ivey who gets Section 8 assistance for the apartment she rents for her and her 3 children. And in order to get that Section 8 voucher, LaToya claimed she had NO income.
Well now a former accountant for Ron’s managers is SNITCHING!!! The accountant claims that Toya's baller brother actually pays all of her bills through some company.
And now that welfare authorities know what they're up to, they're GOING AFTER both Ron and LaToya. They raided LaToya’s home earlier this week, taking all kinds of documents which will later be used as evidence.
They say that LaToya and Ron may have defrauded taxpayers out of at least $34,000.

Wtf how was he busted? first of all if ur on section 8 that doesn't mean ur welfare, that's is called housing authourity, and with section 8 you can have income it has to be next to nothing! This is rather typical of ppl to do as far as lie about certain things in order to obtain several things through the welfare system such as section 8 or what not,however,what I don't understand is why does she need to do all this if her brother is an NBA baller? After all,he pays her bills,right? So why not hook her up all the way with a nice apt or house? Sooo WHY is Ron being investigated if all he was doing was paying her bills?? His money wouldn't be considered her income. But I could be wrong because I don't know how section 8 works, but it sounds like they trying to drag Ron in this because they know is rich, can't see any problems with just paying her bills!

Let's just say that's not the case though, instead of him just paying her bills, it would be smart and more beneficial for him to pay for her to go to school or start a business. What if he loses his job and is unable to make the money that he use to, at least she will have something to fall back on and maybe even help him out. Look at Rev Run's family he helped his daughters to start their own business, so he does not have to support them forever.

I do not think he was that dumb. I think he thought he was paying all of her bills, and probably had no idea she was getting section 8. He is a busy man, and I doubt he is going behind his sister to find out if she is doing anything crooked. I am not a Artest fan, but I just do not think he was paying all of her bills and knew she was receiving section 8. It would not help him by doing that. It would help her have more pocket money.

I agree with Texas and Great-Welfare should not be considered permanent income. I understand if you encounter financial hardship that might require assistance but its nothing to live off of. My friend works in medical claims and she witnessed illegal aliens obtaining medical coverage under Medicare. How is that possible without a SSN, or *** of legal residency?!?! Someone isn't doing appropriate background checks and individuals are flying under the radar.

Section8 is a form of Welfare. Any funds coming from the public/taxpayers to help the poor is considered a form of welfare. All income has to be reported according to papers signed by these people to get help. Housing Authority is branch that manage the funds for housing. It is fraud if she did not report outside income which could mean eviction & prison time. We were going to find out anyway, just trace the payments to creditors 4 the bills = unreported income, which = fraud. The accountant was subpoenaed & didn't have snitch. Welfare was already investigating.

First of all they would have to prove that Mr Artest knew that his sister was getting a reduced rent. They can go after the sister but it will be hard to convict him. He can always say he was helping his sister out by providing a month income to her with no knowledge that she was on ths system. This is so not a story.
Ron Artest is not obligated to take care of his sister. She need to find the man or men she's having babies with to take care of her.
