: MediaTakeOut.com just learned of some interesting news. Kobe Bryant was just offered a 3 year $90 MILLION contract extension by the Lakers.
If he accepts the extension, Kobe would become the highest paid NBA player ever. Not bad Kobe...
Now, I am not trying to throw salt at a brother because it's not like he controls the paychecks, BUT why do can major sport figures get MILLIONS of dollars, and people like Doctors, teachers, who generally make a positive direct difference to society, get paid only thousands? No one can tell me that makes sense.
Ball players make millions because people pay millions to watch them do what they do. I agree, it does show skewed priorities in a sense, but when 40,000 people pack into arenas and pay hundreds or thousands of dollars a head to watch teachers teach or social workers work, then they will make that money. Its pure capitalism and the athletes and teams are just meeting the demand. People are willing to pay, so they make that paper
Lakers cannot offer him a 30+mil per year contract idiots. The years of players getting that much dough is over and it ended after the lockout in 1999.
Do you guys ever report real news? The comments on here must be written by bots or something, they keep eating it up and never questioning the legitimacy of the story. Idiots.
