Thank God for Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.! It's a few negative comments on this board, some which don't deserve acknowledgement. All that I have to say is, he was a great man who sacrificed his life not so he could experience the freedoms we can today, but for his children, and his children's children. Regardless of his past.... the man was not Jesus. He was a man. He deserves great admiration for the things he has done for all races, not just blacks.

You all keep saying his dream hasn't been fulfilled yet we have an African American President. African Americans have been making great strides in politics, entertainment amd education. However, one fo the major setbacks of our culture is the refusal of some to progress. We keep blaming the government and the drug problems but where is our accountability. I agree some of the laws written were specifically targeted at blacks, however, you failed to mention the strict laws implemented towards the manufacturing and possession of Crystal Meth which is mostly a White drug. The sentences for Crystal Meth possession is just as stringent and the crack cocaine law has been overturned because people got out there and called the government on their ***.
