daughter's HS has a ban on leggings..capri & long length.
n[SPAM][SPAM]oooooooooo top 10
THATS SO STUPID WTF
HEY...IT IS WHAT IT IS...SOME HOES NEED TO BE BANNED FROM WEARING THEM...
I can see their point. TOO many women are showing the silhouette of their *** to the world...Or *** near a camel toe. We ALL don't want/need to see that.
Back in the day people used to dress so much sharper. Nowadays people are just sloppy and lazy, with little class.
And it would take a man to say they make a woman look sexier.
Ladies, we don't have to have everything hugging our privates us to feel attractive.
good idea, tired of looking at these hoes walking around looking half dressed like its cute. You have to force class on some people.
I brought a pair of the denim looking tights I wore them last weekend, dear God I almost cause all kinds of accidents in those tights. I highly recommend them ladies!!
The University should ban Big Girls from wearing them!! I'm sure that's all they want they just don't want to come out and say it. Fat women would start protesting in sh*t!!
my husband went to Hampton. Dress code is enforced. Made young men and women take pride in their appearance and ready for the grown world. There isn't really a place in corporate for baggy jeans, popped collars, booty *** and leggings!
The tighter my jeans the better!!
Only if females would wear real leggings instead of tights...Silly females
I'm glad that someone is trying to set standards, and more proud its a Hampton.
That's a bit over the top, isn't it?
ladies if you feel the need to draw attention to yourelf by wearing thin *** crotch hugging, tights/leggings (same *** to me) then you have issues. Try wearing real clothes like a real woman.
bigthings~ Who ever is still popping there collar should be banned from class also they should get there *** kicked. Who still pops there collar????
AND THEY NEED TO! LEGGINGS ARE NOT PANTS NOR ARE THE APPROPRIATE!
WHER'S THE POSTER THAT'S ALWAYS SAYS THAT LEGGINGS ARE NOT PANTS?! LOL CAN'T WAIT TO READ HIS COMMENT.
Try loosing some weight and that gut then you won't be so bitter~
I dont think they should banned them just have the female students cover their butts and dont wear the see through ones *simple* !!!
THATS SOME *** *** THATS WHAT I THINK
maybe because they dont want their students walkin around wit tights that show they entire form...it may be a distraction Ladies, we all know tights accentuate whatever type of body we have...leave em for the club!
I agree with the campus. And black women take things too far. Alot of women do not know the appropriate undergarments for some clothing.
If you were liquid leggings, or ANY leggings for that matter, GO GET YOUR BEHIND SOME DAYUM SPANX, AND ENOUGH WITH ALL THE CELLULITE AND CAMEL-TOE!
I'll be happy to consult anyone that has any style concerns. It's what I do! :)
u should see some of da *** in leggings on campus ..they dont even wear underwear the booty be clapping in dem leggings boom boom pow.. its distracting to the learning enviorment... most girls are their more expermental while in college so at least while getting brain u would be getting head with honors go pirates...Motto: "The Standard of Excellence - An Education for Life"
THEN THEY NEED TO BAN PPL THAT WEAR PANTYHOES AS TIGHTS THEN..FREAKING *** THATS WHAT THEY ARE.
TexasGlamourChic Flag post
I think it's a great idea because some females don't know how to wear them and they end up looking like hookers, leggings or tights look best when worn with long tunic tops or dresses not baby tees and tank tops....that's how it is tho, those that can't get it right always f*ck it up for someone else, just like we don't have casual Fridays @ my job anymore because females was coming to work dressed like they were going to the club!
Wait - so feeling that leggings are inappropriate means someone is overweight?
Stop making excuses, because I think they have gotten out of control and I am NOT overweight at all.
Wow. They are not playing around in VA!
Our lip balm heals, hydrates and PREVENTS DISCOLORATION! Natural! Great for smokers and non-smokers!
Search for us! No longer a Hollywood secret!
I applaud the Administration's decision for invoking a strict dress code! Tired of seeing these young people inappropriately dressed in public while they THINK they're looking cute. Females wearing pajama bottoms out in the streets. That sends the message that she is ready to hop right back in bed with any Nucca she can pick up on the way back from the the Bodega!! And the Du-rags on the heads of the young boys gotta go --- just like themstupid-looking, oversized 'fitted' baseball caps that make the lil' Nuccas look like Charlie Fcuckin' Brown.....and the saggy pants are a definite no-no...wy
i LOVE leggings/tights :-D
uniqueSag - lool I believe you're talking about bezsenny (something like that) ..
lool @ GoodGirl2
Honestly it sucks because some girls actually wear leggings the PROPER way so they *** expell those who wear them right.
Expell the girls wearing tights (see through and what not) as leggings and expell those wearing leggings and showing camel toe and wearing tops that are too *** with them. THAT should be a crime!
KingRamses2U - lmfao you aint lying. i absolutely HATE seeing ppl in pajamas at 2 in the afternoon. they just look DIRTY like they never showered and rolled out of bed. hoodboogers for ya!
Thats crazy. Thats Hampton for you. SC STATE is not like them.
If i'm paying to go to school, any school for that matter, i'm wearing what i want....but....we do have soome tacky biotches walking around.....so....
Great job HU!!!!!!! Lord knows that school is full of moraless ho's.
LMAO at the word "dude rags"....get it right MTO! SMMFH
they can't do that..that aint HIGH SCHOOL or MIDDLE school! Them people are GROWN!
its just leggings not that serious and they look great with a long top
misshugrad~ Usually it's the big bold and the ugly that make comments such as yours. I'm willing to bet you a jelly donut that you fall in with that category. I only wear my tights on the weekend and girllllllllll you should have seen me last Friday the men all paused when I walked in the room. *** I need a pair of them for everyday of the week.
My children are grown now and I must say...my boys don't wear sagging jeans and my girl doesn't where spandex...none of my children have tats and they are gorgeous college educated professionals. when they were growing up I brow-beat them with this philosphy: "there are rules and regulations where ever you go and you must adhere to them in order to be a productive citizen...unless you're a baller, an entreprenuer or an entertainer...freedom of expression may not apply! You either want a job or a career...make your choice wisely!" Without rules to abide by..society will run amuck!
Someone wrote, "If i'm paying to go to school, any school for that matter, i'm wearing what i want." BUT, when you CHOOSE a school you ALSO have to make sure you CHECK out THEIR rules and where the school is located!
If you don't know a school has the right to create NEW rules if they like and if you don't agree with them then you can BOUNCE! That is the RIGHT YOU have, but if you stay you WILL abide by their rules. ALSO HAMPTON UNIVERSITY is in a COMMON WEALTH state of Virginia, they run things their differently and independently than other states! They have had rules like you can't have ***
unless it is in the missionary position etc and if YOU happened to get caught having *** in another position then you could face fine or jail time.
Besides I know it is a style, but I have seen women not wearing leggings and trying to pass other things that are thinner than leggings off as leggings, so if you can't MAKE women wear proper leggings the only thing you can do is ban them all together.
they do have a point as far as many women considering leggings/tights & even panty hose in some cases as actual pants so I agree however to ban them for good? I don't know about that. Btw why would Amber, meagan or any other celeb care about this & how is this such "disturbibg" news m.t.o? lmao
I could see that. Some heffas need fashion lessons.
Well, the fact that men GAWKING at your body makes you feel better about yourself makes me feel sorry for you.
That being said, newsflash! There are PLENTY of women who get attention from quality men WITHOUT a "the tighter the better" attitude.
And I PROMISE you, setting high standards for yourself and your body has NOTHING to do with being "big and ugly" as you put it.
I meant to type disturbing in my previous comment, excuse my typos
Great! Hampton has standards. People are getting ridiculous and inappropriate in the name of "fashion." Just look at some of the avatars on here. Attractive or not, but some things are best left in the bedroom. Face it, some folks don't know what appropriate is, so Hampton took a stance to tell them.
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!
I'm seeing these so called "leggins" on people that should be ashamed of themselves large and small for that matter.
I went to a funeral and everyone and they momma had on leggings! I go to church, they're thereI'm sick of them. They're cool when they are worn "appropriately".
I went to HU last year, Dr Harvey, the school's president and Dr. Inman, his right hand woman, are just the type to do something like this...smh.
misshugrad~ You want that jelly donut don't you?? lol~ I dress professionally all week. Last weekend I was borderline *** looking with my tights on. I must admit I looked nice and I tied my tee to the back with a pair of Uggs on. Don't get me wrong I don't have a closet full of provocative clothing.
Fat people need love and a crack pipe!!
What about "Riding Pants" bc I wear the sh*t outta them also???
They did this because people take it too far...
dressing for class like they going to work on the pole or the corner.
@Texas~ I love them Texas!! If you were thinking about getting a pair do so they are really cute.
LoL..GLAD I GOT TO NORTH CAROLINA A&T AGGIE PRIDE!!!!!!!!!!!!
As a Hampton Alum...i'm not surprised one bit!
Good! As a Hampton University graduate this is a good move. Too many people are celebrating fake thug culture and females acting like ***. If you have a problem with Hampton's dress code, then go to another school. As Black people we need to start presenting ourselves in a better light. You cannot enter the workforce dressed like a ho or criminal. So students might as well get prepared for the real world in college. Peace to our home by the sea, hands down the best looking Black college campus in the country. Actually it should be ranked #1 academically as well. HAMPTON PIRATES THE REAL H.U.
I knew "someone" had to F uck it up for everyone! Probably the same *** MTO posted awhile back showing her panties through "obvious" stockings. Again, stockings and leggings are NOT interchangeable..lol
I THINK THAT MAY BE NECESSARY IN ORDER TO TEACH THE KIDS. HOW CAN U TEACH IF THEY ARE HALF DRESSED AND IT WILL HELP THEIR ATTITUDE IN SCHOOL IF THEY WERE DRESSED MORE BUSINESS LIKE.
We all know how black folks can take a fashion trend to a whole other level. Look what we did to doo rags & scarves. They were meant to protect out hair while we slept but now you see men and women wearing that sh*t to the mall. We have a way of making stuff ghetto and trifling-looking.
RicFlair: You could not have said it better. I am a proud alumni of HU and this is an excellent idea. Hampton believes in "education for life", you cannot show up to work in leggings and look professional. Why should you be able to go to class with them? Save the leggings for cleaning your dorm or hanging out on the weekends. its the same idea as pajamas. Just because leggings are in style does not mean its ACCEPTABLE attire. Catsuits are IN? does that mean President Harvey and the HU police should allow you to wear it walking across campus? HELL NO!!!
I can understand the stockings because no woman should be wearing stockings as pants with your *** all showing. That's just nasty and indecent. But regular leggings? Come on, thats crazy. Well OK as long as you have a LONG *** over it, i don't see a problem. Leggings are like the new sweat pants. It's the quickest and comfiest thing to throw on when you are trying to get to class. With the high dropout rate, they need to be happy young women are showing up to class in anything!
And the dress code is not STRICT. its just right. We as a people need to have higher standards and hold each other accountable.
Another Amen for RicFlair! The students knew when they applied and accepted that HU had standards for their appearance.
Sidenote - sorry everyone but HOWARD IS THE REAL HU!!!
It's a college, not Nazi Germany. I understand older folks wanna uphold certain standards, and thats fine, I hate sagging pants, they look stupid. But they forget so soon that they were once young and that they had their fads when they were younger. Times change. As long as she looks well put together, i dont see a problem.
It'll never happen do to the fact that the way people dress is a symbol of sef expression and by limiting that alot of issues will become present ones that hampton university is not yet ready for~
I like leggings with my sweaters/boots. But,I guess they want them to look professional and be prepared with the right fashion choices for interviews & careers. I have 2 teenage sons & I don't allow them to wear saggin pants !? Big jeans cool BUT wear a belt OR don't leave MY house. YOU should always dress intelligently. I understand fashion but some of this stuff is ridiculous.
And why is this disturbing? The reason for the ban is clearly stated and has more to do with the fact that some girls think throwing on a pair of stockings and calling them pants is okay. THAT IS in inappropriate and should be dealt with. It's an institution of higher learning, not a brothel, and their students should dress accordingly. I'm certain if some girls weren't walking around with half their @$$ hanging out, wearing leggings wouldn't be an issue.
@ Itsabttime Well said ! Very good point !
Oh and if college is "supposed" to be preparation for the "real world" (whatever that is) enforcing a dress code makes sense. Self-expression is nice but depending on where you end up working when you graduate you can't just go to in looking like you're heading to the club. (I've seen chicks rocking entire outfits from rainbow like it's work gear and they probably would have benefitted from a crash course in proper office attire.)
@Nubian_Huntress Agreed !!! It's some smart people up in here today ! I'm loving this right here (LOL)I had to tell my niece to cover hers up with a longer ***, she is TOO developed and is a teenager. When I tried to dress crazy MY daddy said " Nuh ugh go change, don't leave out my hose looking like a street-walker". When mini-skirts was out my daddy wouldn't let me wear them. He said they were TOO ***; and I was TOO developed. I'm glad he taught me to respect myself with what I wear !
@Doll11-one its not sad that there young adults need a dress code. Everyone needs a teachable moments....
however what i do believe is sad: is why they have yet to be taught what is/what is not acceptable to wear in certain settings.
Cosign the following: KingRamses2U, DaRealDeal34, misshugrad, affirmative-action, Lockstress RicFlair, Itsabttime, tra1, and others, lol. Its one thing to roll outta bed and head straight to class, but its been gettin' a little outta hand for a minute now.
And to prove my point exactly...by the way thanx to all my intelligent brother and sisters here today...
sum bird just walked in here **a bank** for a job interview in lucite heels, "the leggings" and a tigh azz *** like she just ran off stage forgetting her interview!
WHY IS IT ALWASY MY CUZINS?? WHY????
I can't people...I am tempted to go into the interview room and *** her by the back of her black azz neck and beat her senseless!
*in the words of the ever immortal Florida Evans of GoodTimes...*** DAMN DAMN*
I'm so *** up I spelled ALWAYS wrong! ha!
i love seeing sexy women with a phat azz in leggings, tights, panty hose or whatever...this ban must be stopped.
And TIGHT! ***! I need air!
Itsabttime~ I agree with you. Just as I indicated earlier I dress professionally at work in fact some days I question my collegeís attire. Nevertheless it's about what's appropriate in certain setting.
Also if they want to set dress codes lets take it back to the days when the teachers dressed in professional attire.
Where living in a time where teachers are *** the students!!
DOLL I'm at work and you made me bust out laughing!!! LMAO!!!
What's out of control is the Puerto Ricans and white people here in Philly wearing PJ's like itís a pair of pants!!
If there are "women" wearing panty hose and tights inappropiately then I agree with the ban. The school should protect themselves. I don't understand some women these days. Why would you put yourself out there like that? I personally don't want to see someone's underwear or behind. Stop being cheap and buy leggings or a nice top to cover the neccessary areas.
@goodgirl...and you know this! How in da hell do you take 2 busses to get to the mall and you got on your PJ's and slippers advertising you haven't scrubbed your azz and puzzy all day! ILK!
AND to add insult to injury...THEY'RE WEARING MAKEUP!
thats kinda stupid...
but wearing leggings that cover your *** is more stupid, i wish ppl would stop that. ppl have no sense of style.
LOL @ GoodGirl2! I'm part Rican but I gotta say u are right on that one!!! No, wearing PJs with church shoes is more like it!
@misshugrad DONT START WITH ME!!! Hampton is the real HU...you know Howard doesnt have the Standard of Excellence we have! lol
good for hamptom. they're trying to educate intelligent young women & not be a breeding ground for hoes........
I admit it is hard to focus when you see a nice *** walk by in leggins. Thats a good look, but maybe not for school
Lmao @ "DUDE RAGS"
*** it just make em all wear uniforms
Woah, some of you are taking it a bit too far.
I'm in college and when I graduate and get a job, my job will require me to wear heels + dress pants etc - I'm NOT tryna dress like that everyday while I'm still in school!
And prepare for the real world? It's common sense that you can't wear leggings to work in a proper office setting.
Also like others mentionned - the pajama thing is kindaa crazy. I remember back in elementary school they banned pajama day because some people would literally just roll out of bed and come to school and it was "unsanitary" or whatever the school said.
@BrickHowse Re: comment abt Germany and if the girl is presentable, its ok.
I understand your point. however Hampton can not leave it open ended. They have to make a decision. I am sure this has been in discussion for while b4 it came to this. im sure there are women who are very classy in their leggins. but for every 1, im sure there are 20 who look a mess.
I agree with the ban. There are body types wearing them that *** be. If they are going to be worn, they should have a long enough *** to cover your bottom.
@msayana its "common sense"---to you it may be, but for many its not!
The teens and young adults I hire come in for interviews with leggings, uggs, and pink sweatshirts and get attiude when i dont hire them.
I dont know abt now, but while i was at Hampton, it was mandatory that you owned at least 1 suit. and participated in a university 101 class that taught Job attire, ettiquette, etc. and I am thankful that I can teach the many young people that i hire. What is/what isnt appropriate. and Im grateful for HU for re-inforcing it.
@Itsabttime: LOL Oh you KNOW someone in here had to!
"Since 1998, the University has produced two Rhodes Scholars, two Truman Scholars, 21 Fulbright Scholars and 10 Pickering Fellows. Howard also produces more on-campus African- American Ph.D.s than any other university in the world."
@ MSAYANA, you should definitely wholeheartedly enjoy your youth while you can and I'm certain the Hampton University administrators feel the same way. Again, the code is obviously being instituted because some young women can't seem to discern the difference between appropriate dress and street walker attire. Seems like a case of a few rotten apples spoiling the bunch and I'm certain the rule wouldn't be an issue if people were wearing leggings appropriately. In a learning institution that means of proper thickness with all of your vital parts covered.
I guess they distract and are not casual attire.
But I don' think they can do that. I mean, if you are in a phys ed. class, and you have to run to class before you get a chance to change. How can they expel someone for that.
That is kind of *** rule. *** short skirts and booty *** would be more realistic.
I had to take a mandatory class last semester and it was all about proper business etiquette - job attire and etiquette as well. At first I thought it was boring and useless but it should actually be mandatory for all courses/programs.
@doll-11one...uhm...I take it back...wasn't my cuzin...it was my great aunt! Uh my "titi" is a mess for this.
She came out the room and I got a good look at her face and She looked about 40plus. I QUIT!
Nubian_Huntress - yeah a few people definitely spoiled it for everyone. It's pretty silly though that this is a problem, I don't know why anyone would want to walk around with see through tights on or with "camel toe" showing.
But now that I think about it, it's really not that big of a deal. You're only at school for a few or more hours and then you're free to leave and wear what you want.
If you live on campus that's a different story - but I could live without wearing leggings ..
what next? colleges sayin you cant smoke weed on campus? how absurb?! anyway watch funny skits by the DMVs own Hustle Fam at www.thehustlefam.blogspot.com

Leggings hot on thin chicks super hot on thin chicks. Not very hot on anyone else. Sorry thin chicks run the leggings movement. Everyone else it looks awful..
Tacky women can kill anything.
Hampton is a private school..therfore they can ban what they want.! I wouldn't wanna go there.!
Hampron U. is my Alma Matter. Nothing is produced there but CLASS! If they feel that the students are not being "classy" they will do what they feel they need to do! It is a private school and is the epitome of the "bourgeois negro". Hampton will do what is necessary to remain that way...just sayin
it is *** inappropriate! i wouldnt walk around with my booty all poked out and *** at school. anywhere really.
WOW with the typos meant HAMTPON...guess that means I'd better get back to work...lol
HAMPTON.....WHAT THE F?
Wow It's real sad when you have to give adults a dress code like they're little children. The one's who crave attention will mess it everytime lol Now the fitted caps, I don't quite understand. There are many styles of hats out there yet the fitted one get the boot lol
That *** Nicki minaj *** it up for everybody cuz thats all that hoe wears!
They look alright tastefully done, but you know folks gotta take it the next level. Females walkin around lookin like $5 ho's and the big girls, I don't even wanna think about it.
THAT WOULD TAKE MY MIND OFF OF HOMEWORK. BAN THAT *** QUICK...
Good for them. Leggings & tights are NOT pants, and *** be worn as such. Your *** and crotch should not be visible when wearing them. They should have this ban all over the world when worn improperly, IMO.
Skinny jeans on males should too!!
5 STaRS @ HomeeSmasher & misshugrad!!
LoL @ uniqueSag: I think you're talking about ME, but I'm a lady =]
Hampton's dress code has nothing to do with the fact that Virginia is a commonwealth state. Hampton is a private school that is not run by the state. I went to VA State Universtiy which is a public state college and We wore whatever we wanted(with in reason).
who cares..just make sure they get an education instead of turning out some trained white-washed black people.
If people would buy a *** or dress to cover their phat/fat/flat a** and cellulite maybe it wouldn't be a problem. But people always following what celebs do. People are there for an education not a fashion show. Please, who cares if they ban leggings from HU. The degree is what's important.
meggan look fabulous!
OMG THOSE LEGGINGS FIT MEAGAN GOOD JSUT RIGHT!!!
I went to Hampton and its not as stricked as it is made out to be. People wore do-rags to class, chicks wore *** skirts, guys wore wifebeaters. Now all of a sudden they want to go hard on what people are wearing now. This has to come because of what is going on down there with the students safety.
Meagan Good lookin' good
How dumb.. Maybe the teachers were getting turned on by them...Since when did Meagan go from flat to fat?
I agree with it! I done seen sooo many women walking around lookin' too stank in them. They're definitely NOT for everyone! I personally wouldn't leave the house with them on. They're comfortable just to be worn at home to me. It seems that leggings has took the place of REAL PANTS(jeans) for a lot of women. Leave that stanky look for the club where you'll get all the attention you want...
bezsenny - lol I knew you'd have something to say about this.
LMAO @ dude rags!
Meagan Goody and Amber those are Cool Women!!!! Like me, I'm a Cool Kid!!!
I'm gonna have to agree BUT it should be within reason i.e) leggings can be worn with dress or skirt no higher then 2 inches above the knee.
i guess [N3xt]
@goodgirl2- I guess I'm dating myself with the "popping" collars, but you know what I mean! and I'm the one who always post that leggings are not pants! LOL
This is a cute fashion statement BUT of course you have those females that go TOO FAR. Im pretty sure everyone woman has put on a pair of pantyhose and you know how sheer they look...If you buy tights that ARE SHEER LIKE PANTYHOSE THEN PUT THEM UNDER SOMETHING... The tights that you see All these celebrities wearing are OPAQUE AND THICK.. Cant see anything. YOU KNOW IF ITS TOO SHEER OR NOT, STOP PLAYIN! If they cant make decisions like an adult well then there you go. What are you supposed to do when beaucoup women go OUTSIDE W/ PANTYHOSE, UGGS AND A SWEATER? COME ON NOW!
What will black women do now?
Good for them. Walking around looking all buckety naked is not cute. I love mine with my oversized sweater shaws :).
Its college, its not that serious. Its not like they are at Company or something. Over reacting, let it GO.
I'M NOT A FAN OF LEGGINGS I ALWAYS THOUGHT THERE WERE FOR WEARIN UNDER UR JEANS OR AROUND THE HOUSE BUT IF THIS HAPPENS TO GO DOWN IT SHOULD NOT EVERYONE IS BUILT TO WEAR THEM *** SOME DNT KNOW HOW TO ACT WEN THEY WEAR LEGGINS SO I SAY GO WIT IT ITS W/E
That is just such a stupid t hing to do...I'm sure thw school has more important hings to worry about but yet this seems to be #1 in the list
IM SURE THEY CAN BE VERY DISTRACTING...
Its fecking stupid
If their students can't tell the difference between leggings and stockings, they're too dumb to be in college anyway.
They need to set standards. College is supposedly a step into the direction of the work force. Where I work, ovbiously the women have no clue. They come to the office looking like straight up *** and they have to turn right around and go home and change clothes.
COMING FROM A BLACK GIRL HERSELF black girls abuse leggins with the *** blouses and big booty. I always cover my *** in leggins..a club is different but anywherw else is tacky
Ok maybe the solution isn't banning leggings all together. Maybe they should probit girls from wearing them just as pants. Allow them to wear them if they are wearing them under a dress or skirt or something.
Leggings are not made for everyone. There must be some real HEAVY AZZ violators on that campus. Those azzez must be so big they tryna pass a law against it.
H.U is wayyy 2 strict anyway..smh.
it's b/c of stupid chicks wearing tights meant 2 be worn under skirts & dresses as leggings...leggings are thick and u cant see ur draws thru them but u can see everything under tights smh at dumb chicks messing it up 4 everybody
its stupid. aint them university people supposed to have COMMON sense too?
It must be a woman tryna ban that ***! cuz i cant c no *** complaining!
what is with her hairline in the 2nd pic?!
I mean college is a place where you can an should be able to express yourself, but it is still school an there should be somewhat of a limit.
