: MediaTakeOut.com just received a very BIZARRE report. A popular preacher from Tennessee is having a run in with the law - for assaulting and threatening to MURDER his son.
Here's what popped off. The dad, a preacher named Joe Colquitt, who is well known in his town of Alcoa, TN, was upset that his 32 year old son Michael had been regularly missing Sunday service. So preacher Joe called Michael down to the church to try and convince him to change his ways.
Somehow, things went LEFT and the preacher ended up pulling out a gun and PISTOL WHIPPING his son inside the church. Here's how the Blount County Daily Times is reporting it:
"(Michael) Colquitt stated (Joe) Colquitt pulled out a handgun and stated he would kill him, his wife and family," the report said. "(Michael) Colquitt stated (his father) was upset because he cussed him."Y'all gonna call us GHETTO . . . .BUT . . . how you gonna call the COPS on your dad like that. Sounds like it was just an argument that got a little out of hand. That son ain't have to bring the LAW into his family business like that . . .In the order of protection filed by Michael Colquitt — which was served to Joe Colquitt Tuesday - the allegations made by the younger man go one step further, as he claims his father "pulled out a gun and loaded it . . . he pointed it at me numerous times . . . he also punched me in my face."
When officers contacted Joe Colquitt, he reportedly admitted that he did pull out a handgun during the argument, but said he pointed it at the ceiling, not his son. The pastor denied threatening his son's wife and family, but said he told the 32-year-old that "because he cussed his father, God could kill his wife and family."

Are you mad???? Hell yes, he should have called the police on his dad. Some of these preachers are crazy and need to have consequences for their actions...even a FATHER. A lot of them think they are above the law and feel they don't need to follow the law, only God's law. Plus, they didn't sound like they were close anyway. I guess the son should have just waited until he *** him or his family and then call the police, right?
Now he must have done more that cuss that man if he had to pull out a gun. I think daddy was waiting on this fool to start clowning. He probally had threated to beat his daddys azz before. When you get to cussing your parents or disrespecting them, somebody has to get order. Some of these "thugs" should have had a daddy like that and they would be alive or not incarcerated today. There is more to this story. For all of yall saying that's why you don't go to church, the pastor is a man (bag of dirt) just like you. Don't go to church to worship the pastor, go to worship God.

A lot of people in need of an emotional crutch for guidance & hope follow these fake religious, abusive, con artists who play on their emotions because they can give a good sermon for the people to *** to. smh I am not surprised. I grew up knowing a couple of pastors who would beat and curse out their wives & be in the pulpit a few hours later, rally the church. Arrest that so-called Pastor and make him serve time. He's a loser that is using the church as a source of income. Members would be better of playing the lottery & saving up for retirement. Religion is man-made any. Serve God only.

See this is the reason I follow CHRIST and aspire to be CHRIST-like cause man has flaws and they give "religion" a bad name. It saddens me to see that so many people have given up on God and use men like this and other men that MTO posts about that are supposed to be leaders, as an excuse to not come to church, believe, and even blaspheme God. I guess I'll be the only one to say that this man nor any man will deter my faith and belief in God. I won't make fun of the situation but I'll pray for him just like I pray for everybody else IF this story is true in its entrity. I'm not ashamed! And
for the record, don't look at men like this, Creflo Dollar, T.D. Jakes and/or other men that own these mega churches and push magic water and cloths as what Christianity and loving God is all about. Don't discredit it unless you try Him out for yourself! Everybody not a "*** in the pullpit" or have women on the side or cheat on their wives. My church is wonderful and we're always progressing. I am no longer surprised to read anything about people anymore. It seems that the Christian community is just as affected as the rest. Why would a gun be necessary in the church anyway??? My thoughts are this - apparently, the son and father had no real love nor communication with each other. One's absence from the church on a regular basis is not a reason to pull a gun. It seems to me that both parties need to kneel in the presence of the Lord, learn the teaching the Love of God and how much His love can heal, protect and seal each of them to the day of redemption.
This is an perfect example (if this story is true) of why you need to follow the lord and not the pastor many people put so my faith in pastor untill he becomes like god in their eyes but no one know what goes on behind closed doors wen pastor turns out to be less than Christian it makes those people lose faith in their religion and blackslide u need to develop a relationship with Christ not pastor he should be the only one u follow cause there are too many fake prophets around

1) 32 is not a boy 2) Pastors are people too. They get robbed and threatened by people who disagree with their faith or positions all the time. Many have begun to carry guns or hire security for protection. 3) To cuss your own father? He could have respectfully said he doesn't want to attend church anymore or he's going elsewhere, whatever.... but to cuss his DADDY???? If I cussed my daddy, him waving a gun in the air would be the least of my concerns. I'd be more worried about that foot in my a$$ and the stomp out I just received -- AND MY DAD IS A PASTOR!
....and my daddy would have gotten out of jail and stood in the pulpit Sunday morning, telling the congregation, "If that n*gga thought she was gonna come in God's house - or ANYBODY'S house - and cuss me out like I'm just some n*gga on the street and not her daddy who raised her, she better think again!" He would have gotten some amens they'd have prayed for my good sense to come back, and they would have gone on and had service. To cuss your parent is indefensible.
slipperywinwet, the courts don't care if you are that person's mother or father. If you murder someone, you WILL pay for the consequences (even if you killed your own child). At least the child won't be someone's b***h in jail or on death row.
As for this story (if it's true), I would've done the same thing and called the cops. Just because he's a pastor AND the man's father doesn't mean he's above the law. They have to live by it just like everyone else in this society. It's people like this 'pastor' that make others stop going to church and believing in God.
