: MediaTakeOut.com just received a TERRIBLE report. Beyonce and her mother might be GOING TO JAIL . . . at least according to a recent lawsuit.
Here’s what we know so far. Beyonce and her mama are being accused of engaging in shady deals with Vietnam companies that cost apparel maker Vier International $500,000.
Vier International owners claim that executives at a Bey and Tina's House of Dereon conspired to order shipments of goods from Vier Int. at bargain basement prices. The goods were then “converted” to House of Dereon pieces and sold at higher prices.
The fashion bible WWD is saying that Bey and Tina purchased cheap garments from the Asian company but requested “manufacturer specifications” so that the garments would not need altering before going to market.
Here’s the good part. Vier International filed a claim under the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (RICO), the same law used in most Mafia prosecutions. Technically, if they win, Beyonce or Tina may face JAIL TIME!!!

WOW MTO, you do not know what the heck you are talking about. Everytime you guys report on the law you get it wrong 1. MOST "designer" brands take cheap prefabricated clothing products and sell them at designer prices. 2. Selling cheap stuff at higher prices is not illegal, but may be cause for a civil suit 3. RICO is not a private right of action - meaning a private party cant sue you under RICO and then get you thrown in jail, they can sue you for something and ALLEGE RICO violations, then the Attorney General can decide whether to bring RICO charges against you - go back to school MTO

bluepeas i worked for gap. there clothes are made all over the world. the had a scandal once. the company they contracted to make a girl clothing item. had sweatshops in india the destroyed every single ***. gap donates with product red. old navy is cheap. banana republic, gap, and old navy there all the same company but thats how there ranked in quality

Mediatakeout needs to get it right. Beyonce is being sued for breach of contract. HJM International, shipping outfit, and her clothing company induced the *** of the goods to the U.S. with the intent to pay less than THE AGREED UPON PRICE.
This has nothing to do with cheap clothes being marked up because we all knows that happen. This situation is about two companies conspiring against the other to get a better deal than what was agreed upon.

However she will get no jail time but maybe she will sit down for a minute. MTO please do better Legal Research... A private party or Company can't bring RICO charges, they can allege them in a civil suit as this Vier Corp has against Dereon. BTW most fashion companies do the "buy cheap garments and alter then slap an expensive label on it" thing. The RICO charges would have to be picked up by the Government before they would face an ounce of Jail time. RICO is very hard to prove.

You know what? I've been hearing alot about Beyonce being in legal battles and getting sued lately. This could be bad if it is true, but I don't see jail time in Beyonce's future. I only see me lol.
