I think it's important to realize that Tavis and Rev. *** are friends and both are paid to promote talking points to the Black community. Albeit, any talking point, whether one agrees with it or not, fosters productive and thought provoking discussions within the Black community, it is important to note that this discussion is a mere technicality in communication that mentions President Obama, but in reality has very little to do with him. The main difference in opinion between Black people in today's political climate is whether or not "Black leaders" who promote a "Black agenda" are still relevant and if so, should the President act in this role that the Black community has become accustomed to since the beginning of the Civil Rights era? Both these men are exploiting this issue and making money by arguing it. There’s nothing necessarily wrong with that, but that’s all it is. @ChinoBX, the problem with the President not at least attempting to include bipartisanship labels him a dictator, if you will, and furhter divides the country. He ran on the platform that he would attempt to untite the country. The party system when implemented was meant to address the issues of all constituents, but it has divided us in a major way so that now, we barely make progress because we're too busy pointing fingers and placing fault on the other. I never thought I would say this, but Rev *** is right. President Obama should not be the one spearheading a black agenda. It should be people like Tavis and *** these so called civil rights leaders need to step it up. President Obama has 8 years of Bush's mess to try and clear up. Eight years! If it took 8 years to get this way, how long do you think it will take to resolve them? These same issues affect each of us, black, white, red, yellow, etc. That has got to be his priority. This man used 2 be the president of the federal reserve which happens 2 be a privately owned organization that collects ALL of our taxes. There's nothing wrong with what Travis is doing, he has a right to state his opinion, especially since he's qaulified to unlike half of the MTO staff. I could give you information all day but I believe as a woman that you are grown enough to seek the truth for yourself. I was on you tube watching a video of Eric Holder saying that the people listed on the no fly list did not have the right to nor deserved to own a hand gun. I also watched a video of a five year old boy that was seperated from his mother because he was considered a "security risk" due to the fact that he was listed on this no fly list. So you can say what you want but i'll tell you this.. If you are aware and you do nothing, you're just as bad.

There are states that still have Jim Crow and even slavery still written into their constituion and the only thing in place to keep the state from enforcing it is Federal Law (the Constitution of the United States). Although Malcolm and Martin had different opinions, malcolm (at one time) being pro-black and ofcourse martin being peaceful and what you can consider today being bi-partisan, speaking with the "enemy", in the end they met and had love for each other..they knew of the divide and conquer tactic..They were both great leaders!! If Martin was still alive to see this day or El Hajj Malik I'm sure they would put their differences aside as well and try to work for the greater cause..which would be UNITY AND JUSTICE!!

DaGreat; Yeah know all about them as well..I feel how they feel sometimes, I was very upset we couldn't stick to our guns with the public option and also not releasing all classified bush garbage..but I am not a blind follower and realize their are alot of things I don't know politically for the greater cause of America..what I won't do is turn my back on this president, not only because he is a man of color but he hasn't done anything drastic enough to make me feel he has no interest whatsoever in the american people!! Yes, and because Obama is half white, it's only right that he should propose a white agenda. Riiiiight!
