OMG Can we please just comment on the successful black couple? MTO didn't hook these folks up! It is quite possible for a black person to have 2 light-skinned parents and be black. Look at Tisha Campbell. She's lighter than most white people. If it were a dark-skinned couple, they'd be called coons, monkeys, old big-lip Negroes. Interracials get it(I'm guilty), rappers, actors. Nobody's perfect, these people have decided they might as well do what the hell they want because WE will never be satisfied.
i think it is relevant to mention because there is such a shortage of black on black love. we see it in society and definitely in the black community. i think it is positive for young black girls and women to see these images. since this is the norm, black men tend to want non-black women and definitely when they have achieved success in life. black on black love is a rariety, it's not like how it was in the 60's. not against interracial relationships when it is for love but these days...sadly it's not. you NEVER here latin men or white men talk badly about their women, like black men do.
Guys not today with the texture of black skin. Black people comes in all different shades of black from the very light to the very dark. He is Barbadian, a place with very light colored people as well, don't know where she is from but she looks black to me. Reminds me of the stupid movie out there "The Family Wedding" with Lance Gross where the flagrant sterotype of a family fainting cause a brown skin hispanic (Honduran - America Ferrera) brought home a dark skin man. She is African-American with mixed raced ancestry, thats very obvious. I find it weird that people scream that most light skinned folks are just black and "my family look like that" and think that their is not a heaviy mix of white or some native american in them. That lady is like half white and their kids look it too, but she is black identified, but that doesnt erase her mixed race ancestry. He comes from a multigeneration mixed Barbadian lineage, he dont date dark I bet, but he is black in America and trust they believe in keeping their family lineage "light skin" and mixed.
