: MediaTakeOut.com has to give a HEART FELT shout out to actress Holly Robinson Peete. You see, her eldest son was born autistic. But instead of trying to hide it, she's trying her best to EDUCATE people about it.
She's even written a children's book about it - called, My Brother Charlie. To help parents explain autism to their children.
Why is it that swirling threads have 80 somethin comments already and this 1 only has 30 somethin,smdh.....get it together people. Oh, on topic, what a brave young man and a brave mother 2 share her story in an effort 2 educate others!good job holly!
Nice family pix!!!
Everyone looks good & their children are all precious :)
Blair hasn't missed a beat I see,still hella fine/sexy.
Wish Holly & fam much success on their new book! Very positive indeed.
I have an son w/autism also...I just got that book..wonderful! Props to Holly & her daughter Ryan who co-
wrote the book. BTW: Rodney also wrote a book called "Not My Boy!" a father's side of his child with
Great work...Peete family keep up the good work.... The saddest part about Autism,
is the countless people in mainstream society who are Autistic but FOR YEARS have
been labeled BAD, STUPID, PROBLEM CHILDREN, AND LOTS OF OTHER NEGATIVE LABELS
because their Autism was never DIAGNOSED. And for whom DRUGS and ALCOHOL have been
their only coping mechanisms.
UH SHE DID HIDE HIM. IVE NEVER HEARD THAT THERE WAS ANY PROBLEM WITH ANY OF HER KIDS. MAYBE I DIDNT CARE LOL. ANYWAY SHES PROBABLY ONLY TALKIN ABOUT IT NOW BECAUSE SHE CANT KEEP HIM IN THE HOUSE FOREVER. DANG SHAME. I WISH HIM THE BEST.
I have a brother with autism who is doing things that regular people are doing like driving and buying
groceries for himself. this family is going to do fine. even though their will be some tough times, their son
will be just fine.
I love Holly; she, her husband and family; all worked together with their son to help get him where he is today! And, believe u me! It takes a lot of hard work, patience, and tolerance, to get children with Autism grounded. My cousin's son, is Autistic, and I've seen with my own eyes; what she has to deal with on a daily basis. And, It's not easy! And, you've gotta appreciate, all of the other celeb families who also may or may not, have children with Autism, but, still came out to support the Pete's family. I miss Gina on The Martin Lawrence Show. Her two sons are as handsome as they want 2 B!
