the EBT is a debit card & you also get cash on the card if you get cash assistance. I dont think its for the food stamp use. You are not allowed to buy fast food with food stamps which is crazy. Food is food. I am sure it would be cheaper for a family to get a 69 cent burger than to buy that burger & bread at the store on certain days. I am not talking everyday now. Even for a senior citizen on the ebt card. a burger fries & a drink for 2 or 3 dollars is a lot cheaper than buying & cooking everything. I read the newspaper!

Although grown folks should be able to do what they want once money is alloted to them....with our current health care crisis, the poor health in our urban centers and the lack of sufficient health care for low-income communities, to legitimize fast food as a feasible option for food stamp use seems irresponsible. The thought that our tax dollars are subsidizing bad-eating habits that we all eventually will have to pay for in the cost of health care just don’t make much sense.

What difference does it make if its 'cash benefits' or f uckin food stamps? Its still public assistance! There are times when people NEED help from the gov't and those tax payin citizens who have found themselves in that unfortunate situation NEED & DESERVE the help! Every store caters to the community they serve, its the same as you will not find certain items in certain brand named stores regardless of the community since whats sold well in one region may not in another. Why is this news? I live in L.A and you could get food everywhere with that. El Pollo Loco, Jack in the Box, Popeyes, every Subway. Those are just some of the main chains not to mention all the moms and pop spots. Hell I know of a liquor store where you can buy liquor from with an ebt card. @third eye in nyc the cost of living is high than a *** and I know ppl making 45,000/yr and need help with food stamps I dnt know bout most states but NYC puts yo *** to work for ur stamps and cash those ppl cleaning the parks/subways are welfare recipients and alot of them lost their jobs and waited till they had nothing before they went to the gov't.and let's be honest the typical grant in the US is $150 cash and bout $350 in stamps for a family of 3 every two weeks like really is that something to aspire to... HELL NO
I have no problem with Food Stamps, it just that these companies are not offering healthy foods that we need to maintain healthy bodies. A two piece and a biscuit is like a ***. No wonder so many black folks are on Dialysis. Go to any dialysis center, you will be surprised. Mostly black.. Don't let them fool you, fast food is deadly. They are making money putting black people in the morgue.

Hot food can not be bought with food stamps. There are exceptions to the rule at your local corner store in the hood. Get the facts MTO! ya taxes pay for a million other things before it get to welfare..we got fat cats in suits getting billions in welfare..laughing while the ppl on the lower end fight and accuse each other of getting a 200 to $300.
