: Former White House secretary Desiree Rogers is having some TROUBLE over at Ebony/Jet Magazine.
You see, after leaving her post as the White House social director - Desiree took a SENIOR post over at Ebony/Jet. Apparently she was supposed to help TURN THINGS AROUND.
But according to our insider - she likes to TALK DOWN to other women, especially other BLACKwomen.
Here's what they're saying:
Desiree Rogers is a menace. Moments ago, she openly berated the Jet magazine managing editor in a meeting, told her she was not qualified to be the managing editor of Jet.We're gonna HOLD OFF judgment on Desiree cause SOME FOLK tell us that she is a good (but no nonsense) woman. But you're not supposed to talk down to someone like they're a child.The young woman was in tears. Desiree held up the Jet magazine and told her, "I give this an F!"
The rebranding of Jet was at issue. It was done by an outside, white firm, and the ringleader charged $80,000 and left the mess behind for the staffers to clean up.
The Jet editor was not involved with the process at all.
EDITOR'S UPDATE: A rep from Ebony/Jet reached out to us. They claim that the above "conversation" between Jet's editor and Desiree never happened. According to the rep, Jet is "going through some changes" and the above report was likely sent to us by a person "negatively affected by those changes."
I've managed to keep part of my sanity at work by never arguing with the corporate black women on my team. They're cutthroat, will never take no for an answer, refuse to lose arguments, and are about as sociable as a box of rocks. But they are dependable and pride themselves on their work so I guess complaining that they're not my "pals" is kind of dumb.

Unless we were there, it is pointless to make an assumption. Just because a woman who is in a position of authority does her job well, does not mean that she belittles people. Did it ever occur to you the person she was talking to did not have the sense of a peanut to understand what she was being asked to do. There are some women who do not like being told how to get a specific task done,then complain saying they are being talked down to. I have worked in corporate offices for years and have seen it first hand.
In order for the magazine to survive it needs strong leadership, not wimps crying about they need to contribute to make it happen.
Awww STFU! She's a boss! Everytime a STRONG, INTELLIGENT, SUCCESSFUL, BLACK BOSS LADY makes demands in her professional life she's either branded a betch, hostile or angry. NO she's the BOSS! She's there to regulate, that's her position. (I can defintely relate.)

Whatever she did or didn't do at the white house *** matter in her new position. She was hired to do a job, and when she does it, she *** have to deal with sensitive emotional nonsense in the workplace.
Everyone in life has done things they are not proud of, and it's fair to say none of us would wanna be defined for life based on those things, so swallow some humble juice and let's not do that to her.

This is a *** post. Fact- Desiree had no involvement with the JET website disaster (and the site sucks). She wasn't even with Ebony when this took place. This was the doing of the former President Ann Sapowski and her under qualified marketing consultant. Funny how the so-called "insiders", failed to mention that the company's rapid decline took place under Ann's so-called leadership. Fact- Desiree was brought in to fix the mess Ann and her team of misfits created. As for talking down to "Black Women", Its about time the people at Ebony and Jet step their game up and stop crying. Perhaps if the owner (Linda J. Rice) was a tougher, the company would be in this position.

Jet magazine's subscribership fell while under the last editor. Ms. Rogers was brought in to clean it up. This is old news. This happened 2 weeks ago. Mto as usual is late and wrong, therefore irrelevant. I agree with the earlier post. Mto should do more stories about current issues instead of lace fronts and who cheating on who. Part me thinks that mto would be just as bad as fox and don't do any fact checking.
I've seen interviews with this woman and she does seem like a high strung biotch!! She has a history of not getting along with co-workers! That little snafu at the white house (where the indian couple crashed that event) was just topping on the cake that got that azz kicked out of the whitehouse! the blueprint for effective leadership does not include ANY hollerers. leaders do not yell and do not run. further: the greatest leaders of all know how to build team spirit. history makers have to work for the annointing, that special thing only you and your team possess. if you're competent and you're rough boss, fine. but if you're not competent: sit the f*&*** down. however, these days: folks are failing up and pepetratin' their horrific people skills as good mgmt. smh. she was never my chick. and won't be. and sorry, but Jet needs to look to the future, find a new way, and def a new boss - man or woman.
