: MediaTakeOut.com is sad to report that platinum-selling hip-hop/R&B artist Lyfe Jennings said goodbye to his fans on Twitter after being sentenced to three and a half years in prison for a 2008 fight with his ex-girlfriend.
The 37-year-old rapper was given the jail sentence in an Atlanta court Wednesday for criminal trespassing, discharging a weapon near a street, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer, according to hiphopwired.com.
During a heated confrontation with ex-girlfriend Joy Pound, the mother of his children, he kicked the door of a house belonging to Jeff Kendrick and then fired rounds from a gun in the street before fleeing the scene in his 2005 Corvette.
After his sentencing, Jennings thanked his fans on Twitter for his career.

TDR25, when I lived in Detroit this white women escpaed prison from a drug charge. And went to Cali to live a life and she got married and had children until one of her neighbors snitched on her and they brought her back to Michigan only to let her go even though she escaped and they said she changed. We black folks just sit back and let that *** happen. They are going to keep doing it.
