Myself, and I‘m sure quite a number of the MTO posters know that many of the inflammatory posts are actually MTO staff. Someone from MTO has to be watching the comments that are being posted, and in order to get more people to respond, they do the “tried and true”, which is to insult black women/men or black people in general. The number of hits to the threads generate $$$, (“Right, MTO??)
Regular sites have thread moderators who direct the flow of the conversations to keep them on subject. However, I do think that other websites have phantom posters, who actually work for the sites, MTO is “BY FAR” the most dependent on racist, insulting posts to generate responses.
But what else can be expected from a gossip site. It is what it is.
