: MediaTakeOut.com learned that yesterday a man FELL INTO THE TRAIN TRACKS of the NYC and lived. Here's how the NY Post is reporting it:
Michael Dion, 41, grimaced in terrible pain as the hydraulic platform extender drove into his midsection at the Union Square station -- and he remained helplessly pinned there for nearly 30 minutes before workers managed to free him.We're praying for dude . . .Yesterday, Dion was clinging to life at Bellevue Hospital in the surgical intensive-care unit.
Friends and family visited him in the hospital, where he remained unconscious on a ventilator, holding onto a worn stuffed animal someone tucked under his arm.
Neither the visitors nor hospital staff would comment on his condition.
Dion fell into the gap at 10 p.m. Friday night after the 4 train pulled into the station, and he was trapped before workers were able to disengage the hydraulics and free him, witnesses said.
"All those little ridges were in his stomach," said witness Josh Betters, 22.
"He was screaming, and you could hear him over the people crowded around him. Somebody was holding his hand," Betters said.
Another witness, Mike Day, 30, of The Bronx, said he was standing in the train by the doors when Dion fell down.
That is not funny at all and you heartless idiots need to take a long look at yourselves in the mirror and think about how'd you'd feel if that. What happened to that dude is what Transit workers call a space case. The majority of people that get caught between the platform die because what you don't see in the picture is the lower half of his body which is twisted around like a rag doll. Usually when that situation happens, they call the victims family down to say their goodbyes because once they tilt the train the body unravels and the person dies on the spot from massive internal bleeding.

They said it happened on union square, you know at that stop they make an announcement saying "Watch out for the large gap" on union square that is a HUGE space between the train and platform the city needs to do better and widen that platform or something to make it safer for people. Small children ride the trains too & can easily fall in between the cracks.
@Makaveli-The-Don-
No he feel through the gap when he was getting off the train. It's a stop in lower Manhattan called Union Square that has a big gap in between the train and platform, that's why they say be careful when getting off or on at that stop because it's easy to fall or get trapped in that big space when getting off or on the train. Plus at that subway stop it be crowded & people push a lot.
I knew that was 14th Union Square they have the movin platform that moves forward when a train approaches the train and back when the train leaves....ur not suppose to stand on that *** unless ur gettin on and off the *** train. People need 2 stop bein so careless and foolish...u dnt need to b @ the edge of the platform..I dnt do that *** cause I dnt trust mofos. I let seat fiend'*** mofos go in frnt of me..fck that aint tryna die fr bein smashed meat pieces
That's just sad, I hope that man be ok. It's easy for people to say "how does someone make such a mistake, they need to be more careful"...Freak accidents happen & I bet the people they happened to were caught off guard & it was totally unexpected. That Union Square station platform is dangerous...& FOR ALL THE COUNTRY BUMPKINS that's not familiar with our subway system, we have the LARGEST subway system in the country with MILLIONS of passengers...it's a wonder that it doesn't happen more frequently than it does!
Hey, did any of you see the old "taxi cab confessions" where the medic from NY was talking about situations like this? He said it happens all of the time. People get stuck in that little space and the train moves and twists the top part of the body while the bottom is stationary. Once they are loose, their guts spill out of their abdomen and they die.
This guy is lucky to be alive! Look at that small space!!
Ok that's it! Datouch is not black stop lying u stupid [EXPLETIVE] I wonder why u target black women its ok *** head I knw u secretly love us are u madd we won't give ur tired behind the time of day u madd we like strong men with stability u madd we dnt take no bs and wnt sit around and stand for the nonsense yea bxtch u madd!step ya game up !
O...M...G. This exact same thing happened in one of the skits on 'Robot Chicken'. It was actually on tv a day or so ago. The guy in the skit got trapped in the same position but couldn't be moved so he stayed pinned until he got old and died. It was morbid but hilarious. I can't believe this happened for real. What a world.
