I am disgusted with the word usage to describe HIV. I personally know someone living with HIV, through her cheating partner, and has the virus. (NOT BUG or MONSTER) Everyday she is constantly reminded of the burden she has by taking meds. And people ignorance like this only brings more stereotypes and shame to her (and other like her) lives... Using such words to describe the virus shows the true ignorance of the writers of website. Especially with the virus being such a big problem in the black community. Do better MTO!
I agree with a lot of posters up here. It doesn't have a look, and it's 2010 with a lot of medications which makes them healthier than you and I. I think it's a sad day that people expect people to be open and honest about it when they get this kind of ridicule. I wouldn't talk about it either if this is the way people still view it.
To the writers of MTO...its stories like this that make me wish this site was *** down. @huggyb05 & @itstoomuch made some very valid points. There are too many living testimonies/friends/loved ones/etc living with HIV/AIDS as well as doctors/books/and other MODERN sources to educate people on the reality and false myths in regard to HIV/AIDS. And while it is GREAT to always use protection, think about needles, infected mothers at childbirth, rapists before you judge one another.

@capricorn82, I respect your feelings on the name thing, but u also have 2 look at it from all perspectives. My 1st cousin (like a sis 2 me) died w/HIV & she used 2 always say she got hit by the NINJA. It may not necessarily be funny 2 u, but however that person views their situation... so be it. All people w/HIV (or any other terminal illness) don't sit around w/a "woe as me" attitude or get "uptight" to the point they don't wan't people to be themselves or say what they would normally say around them. As a matter of fact, most of the time they want just the opposite.
