: You can really see the CREOLE in Bey's grandpa . . . . But who knew that Miss Tina was such a FLY CHICA????
We need to kick the brainwashing to the curb. Light skinned is not somehow better than darkskin. There are many many beautiful darkskin sisters that keep getting the *** because of threads like this. Light skinned is not the barometer of beauty!!! MTO has a platform to change the way people think about certain black people!!! Make the change!! For some reason when people think of darker, they think of less attractive...Not true!!!! *** to all of my beautiful chocolate queens!!!!!
Ugh! I use to be brainwashed about this light dark thing, but the more i come on MTO, the more i'm ashamed. I can't believe how many people really hate darkskinned black women! I am bright as hell myself, and i must say that i use to think darkskinned women were lying and exaggerating about how their own kind perceive them, but after being on this site, i am SO sad to see this as true...really is some f'd up sh** goin on. We need to get it together forreal.
Umm I rather see her father Matthew's side of the fam....wat they look like since no1 wanna talk about them. Like who don't have lite skin almost white people in their family if ur black. Were they rich like heirs and heiresses???? I think not cause if they were Bey wouldn't have to shake her *** on stage. What is the privilege of being a poor light skin motherfckr?????
beautiful family miss tina was beautiful than and now good genes we see were bey got her beauty hate mongers their is norting to hate about beyonce the you hate on our bey the more god and we her fans will love her even more god continue to bless protect bey and her family for life more success long happy life ever lasting long happy married for bey
The uncle is nice looking in that picture...That pic of Ms. Tina ain't all that, but I've seen a picture of her from back in the days they showed on tv, yeah she was a bad chick. In that picture above she reminds me of Solange...I see where they get them eyebrows from, Daniel looks alot like his great grandpa.
Apparently.... TMZ reported that Alexsandra Wright gave birth to Matthew Knowles son "Nixon Wright". As many websites congratulate Beyonce on the new addition to her family, they failed to congratulate her cousin Angela Beyince on becoming a big sister.
Yes - Alexsandra Wright and Tina Knowles are related. This also explain the reason why Angela Beyince went underground (protected her tweets on twitter, pulled biological data and photos off the internet and video streams) as soon as word broke that Alexsandra Wright (her biological mother) filed a paternity suite against Matthew Knowles.
Tina looks like Solange on that "Cleopatra Jones" pic. Lol. Now, I see where Solange gets her fashion sense from. Beyonce also looks like her grandfather. I see the resemblance in her and Tina. You know what else I noticed? Look at grandpa's left eyebrow. (His left, our right). Do you see how slightly arched it is? Bey has it and so does her nephew Daniel! Talk about strong genes!
OMG & LMBAO @ The_Proverbial_Hater. By far the funniest yet truest comment I've read on here in a long time! I wholeheartedly agree! And if idiots really want to act like "Creole" is some type of magical race then explain why they also call Haitians "Creoles" and most of them are straight-off-the-slave-ship-black!!....I'll wait.
Um did mto steal these pics from Ebony or did they pull this out of their ***, as usual?? Beyonce is just a light skinned blk person. Thats it. *** near every blk person has creole in their family but it decreases by generation. So B is blk not creole. Its actually an insult but uh, This light vs. dark has to stop
Right to the educated people on here Creole is not a race but a culture. Black is beautiful all shades or cutures, yea you ignorant black people or white people on here acting like they "light skin" on here let it go cuz nobody cares what shade you are if you care that much you need to work on your insecurities, BLACK IS BEAUTIFUL ALL SHADES!
Creoles, beautiful, we know how to cook. Creole is nothing but african slaves and frenchman mixing during slavery. The french was generous enough to let them be free people of color and they kept their race pure. They did think they were better than ordinary blacks because they looked closer probably better looking than the whites and then they were free. I'm 39 and my great grandfather is the last to speak creole. Its 2011 and that mess should be dead. People is people. Some families in south Louisiana try to hold on to it but that junk is dying out.
I actually had friends who were made fun of because they were too white. The blacks rejected them and so did the whites. I have cousins thats passing for white right now and no one knows they re black for that reason. But cut the foolishness we are blaaack including bey em. I got news for mto the original creoles woulda rejected the heck out of beyonce cause she's still too brown and the weave is an insult. Trust me. I laugh at who ya ll call light skin. So please leave color out of it.
lol@wil120378, ha @jaming876, are you kidding? I thank God for the black side. That's who gave us shapes, soul and rhythum and personality. White girls are starting to be naturally shaped, might just have some black in them also. I have a white client (I do hair) her hair is straight, I pointed out little speckles of kinky hair in some areas in her head. Huuum.
@deepeastoakland yep you got it right. I was married to an african-spanish man and my son is that from his dad's side. People always are amazed to see a black looking man speak spanish. And my son always fool them and catch mexicans talking *** in spanish and my son come out on them. The same thing happened in south america. Another result of slavery except the white slave owners were from spain. south louisiana from france and other parts of the south was from england.
@jaming876, first of all ur dumbazz need to read. All cultures are noted for something and yes dancing was noted in africa u azzhole. And hell yea Afican women were noted for their shapes, all races had unique features, it have not a darn thing to do with sports or using thier bodies. You have bad understanding and u a bitter negative mto troll. You talk negative no matter what. I always thought you was a project broad, Im just learning you a man. You too messy to be a man.
There's a bunch of idiots posting as usual. Beyonce can claim the Creole culture if she wants to. It's about heritage, food, language AND yes LOOKS! The descendants of Creole people STILL refer to themselves as Creole and MOST people don't have a problem with it b/c in essence they embrace their Creole HERITAGE and their BLACKNESS at the same time. It goes HAND in HAND. If you really want to know about Creole culture and people go to nutria.com and do some research. It's a culture to be proud of especially when so many of them accomplished TREMENDOUS things when blacks had it so difficult! #***
Creole isn't mixed with half and half all the time either. MANY CREOLE people married blacks or other Creoles and guess what???? THE KIDS ARE STILL CONSIDERED TO BE OF CREOLE HERITAGE. The stupidity is rampant and I'm done with the dummies up in here who don't know squat about Louisiana race & culture.
I won't be surprise if the black male and female bashers are mto to keep their ratings. But as far as beyonce they do not have mixed creole or none of that on their birth certificate, it says black and if you were born a lil bit early it says negro. So thats irrelevant. My best friend's cousin *** law tried to create a creole race about 12 yrs ago and she kicked her out her house. The rate mix dating is going, in about 1000 yrs everybody is going to be caramel with curly hair. Then what?
Beyonce and Tina barely knows what Creole is all about. It is funny how Solange never claims she was creole. Beyonce talks about how Tina didn't learn to "talk" Creole because it wasn't cool in the 60's to do so. What kind of excuse is this for learning Creole. Beyonce and Tina use creole as a way to be mix with anything other than black. Beyonce and her folks are colorstruck ignorant folks. I understand creole comes in different skin tones and etc. Tina may it seem like being creole is usually light eyes and light skin people. Which is not the truth at all.
most creoles are octoroons and quadroons meaning 1/8 and 1/4 black, thats why most dont look black. Alot of us look Indian, Native American and Hispanic.
would we be considered Hispanic since we have Spanish in our blood? A creoles is a person who is spanish, french, African and native american and sometimes Irish
we are/were french speakers,
theres a difference between african american and creoles, our history is different, creoles were free people and blacks started out as slaves (hate thats apart of our history), and creoles were wealthy and owned land.
our flag is different then african americans and so is our food and music and language.
if you put a full blooded creole with a black person, there's a difference in looks, hair texture and facial features and speaking accent.
Why is it that puerto rican and cubans could be them but creoles have to be black?
and when the one drop rule came about, it stripped creole family's of our language and divided our family and people separating us into different racial groups, that's why we work hard to preserve our culture.
im half creole so im mostly black. though and proud to be black. and some of my creole fam says black even the ones who dont look black.
here are some mixed race creoles people also know as les gens de couleur libres
A creole girl and her creole grandmother and family [link to external website removed] A creole man and his son [link to external website removed] puerto Rican girl and her creole boyfriend [link to external website removed] two creole kids [link to external website removed] A creole women reading on her creole ancestry [link to external website removed] Another creole women [link to external website removed] And another creole women [link to external website removed] And another creole women [link to external website removed] A creole girl and her Puerto Rican Boyfriend [link to external website removed] A creole man [link to external website removed] I dont see much of a difference between hispanics and creoles/
We creoles were called Creoles long before African americans were even called black, or negro or colored.
we were already established ourselves long before african americans got there freedom and before the civil rights movements. matter of fact creoles fought along side african american with the cavil rights movement.
Our history is different and also our looks and culture. we are not African American. But yes we are apart of the black race but not black persay.
Creole????? A bunch of african american people who were ashamed of their true heritage so they wanted to create a race within a race and came up with creole so they can feel socially accepted by whites (by the way they never did, still got treated like azz wipes) they also wanted to make themselves feel better then darkerskinned african americans. This vicious cycle of ignorance continues today, sad...
@msmarvelous...you're one of the few on this thread that knows or show that u know creoles are just the off-spring of the frenchmen & black slaves, as well as a language/culture. There were also latin creoles too & some mixed in wit Native American blood...But back in the days they did not want to mix in wth darkskin blacks cause they did not want to lose their status in their lil society...Someone above said Tina's mom was black, yeah she was, but it was obvious her mom was mixed...She stated on The Tyra Banks Show that her mom was french-creole when she was discussing that she was a seamstress & that's where her passion came from for designing clothes. She even showed a picture of her mom & her mom's features look like a white woman. I had a hard time noticing anything black about the woman & her mother's maiden name is Dereon.
@pinkdiamondprincezz Creols were under the french rule and we wernt slaves... some of us were but most wernt, we were free and owned land and were wealthy.
See the white man wouldnt teach you that in school, most people dont know.
It was not until france sold the lousiana land to the USA when creoles were looked down upon, because the french saw us a middle class and the Agnos the usa saw us as ***..
Thats why alot of creole family broke up, to avoid racial discrimination. alot went on to pass for white and some moved to france and cuba.
thats why we say were CROLE and sticking with i
her mom is a bad *** ur mouth....i want a afro but i am not cutting my hair....everytime i think of creole...it reminds me of eve's bayou...i wonder if they speak french....and i am pretty sure ms tina knows her race she has been it her whole life....i wonder if she were to make a book with all the styles..she has worn over the years...i bet it would be a good book
That broken AZZ so called french is NOT understood or acknowledge in France.... It's frowned upon..... like ebonics.... someone mentioned back in the day they didn't want to mix hell there still that way... just a bunch of country AZZ back woods lousiana mess that makes them fell that there a lil bit better when actually ur still a dusty AZZ *** living on a dirt road.
Not bashing creole bcuz I have alot of friends that are but it baffles me with there way of thinking in this day and time. My friend has twin girls one light one dark & her creole family favors the light one & buys extra for her the dad whose my 1st cousin has major issues with it & so does our family bcuz little 2/3yr olds just don't understand why I have two gifts & my sister has 10. Not all creole are so obvious about it but It's known that they still prefer the paperbag match method.
@LuxuryTax
I aggree but not just skin color, hair texture also
Im light skinned, and my of my creoles familys hair is straight or wavy. I went to a family party and a cousin of mine asked why I didnt do my hair.
My hair was done it was curled up with gel, but thats not good enough
But other then that my family does not make a difference, but they expect you to look like them. Colored eyes and straight hair.
My fam goes more on hair and eyes rather then skin, we have some dark skinned members who have wavy straight hair and blue and green eyes with a straight narrow nose
@ tom zero
Historically the term Creole is not exclusive to Louisiana. It was used in numerous former colonies, for populations in the West Indies, Mauritius and South America. The term was *** by Inca Garcilaso de la Vega in the early 17th century. In The Inca he wrote; "The name [criollo] was invented by the Negroes... They use it to mean a Negro born in the Indies, and they devised it to distinguish those who come from this side and were born in Guinea ( west africa) from those born in the New World.
The white French Créoles spoke what became known as Colonial French, as it began to differ from French as used in France.Enslaved blacks who were native-born also began to be referred to as Creole, to distinguish them from new African arrivals. Over time, the black Créoles and Africans created a French and West African hybrid language called Créole French or Louisiana Creole French. It was used in some *** by slaves, planters and free people of color alike. It is still spoken today in central Louisiana. Créole French is not spoken in New Orleans any more. Only words and phrases remain.
the Louisiana territory also developed a mixed-race class, of whom there were numerous free people of color (gens de couleur libres). In the early days they were descended from European men and enslaved or free black or mixed-race women. In the early colonial years, there were few European women in the colony. French men took African women as mistresses or common-law wives, and sometimes married them. Even when more women of European descent were in the colony, wealthy young white Creole men often took mixed-race mistresses before, or in addition to, their legal marriages, in a system known as plaçage. The young women's mothers often negotiated a form of dowry or property settlement to protect them
u peeps are really trippin and full of ***. and creole people, island people or w/e u want to call them, consider themselves as black. always this discussion about colour...mixed bla bla...in a country where the majority is white for example they don´t look at shades...to them u have a darker skin so u are black and that´s it...and thank god for creole mixture cause at least they don´t make it a big deal if ur lighter or darker...and when i see creole fam having for ex twins where one is black and one is lighterskinned i think that god is involved in that one..to make black dummies understand
and this blabla and hating about light skins...but the industrie for bleaching products is booming especially in the states so *** up..don´t hate just because ur not happy with ur own skin colour...only people who would love to b different hate like that. creole people don´t think about stuff like that too much, and black woman don´t have these insecurity with their colour there..i regocnized that it doesn´t matter..and the way african americans always try to differ from island people...haha too funny...islands peeps, afro americans ect are all from africa in the end, so we´re all the same
Whoa Whoa, you coward *** dont need to put my name in sh.it I dont give a *** of what or who you think i am, just know *** fabulousweetie is not me and im not her. just cause i peg you *** to be *** dont mean im someone else and if you note, ive been in and outta this thread since yesterday morning leaving more than one comment. *** dont get on my bad side.
@ bestbehavior umm what are you talking about? There are white AND Black creoles. Secondly the A lot of the Black creoles are infact very color struck. Some still won't date anyone darker than a paperbag they even practiced incest to keep the family lightskinned and Solonge has admitted that her creole family members still practice the paperbag test.
@ItAintMyFault it's funny you should state that granps resembles that dead prez, he was actually the son of a white father & a half black mother, but of course him being as racist, that he was, he never wanted to acknowledge that!! &..._the uncle is or was a handsome man, I now see where solange's son get's his looks from lol
How can people say beys grandad os black? r u blind? Lumis Beyince was half white half cherokee (native american) bon to Alexandre Beyince (aka Boyonce) and Marie Olivier. He had no drop of black blood at all folks, sorry. His wife , agnez Dereon was a daughter of E R Broussard, white french, and Odilia Broussard who was mulatto (actually quartercast but census records show mulatto). Making Bey's nan one eigth black only. Making tina 1/16 black. This is according to official census people, and you can check for yourselves. This is why Tina calles herself as french/ native american, not black. l
