: Last December, Tracy Morgan underwent an emergency kidney transplant. All indications were that everything went well. But MediaTakeOut.com obtained images that show Tracy with a bag on his side to collect urine.
The bag is commonly used by people who have acute kidney failure. For example,Gary Coleman had a similar device.
We hope the best for dude.

That is NOT, NOT urine. That device is a Peritoneal Dialysis.Stop passing bad information. (PD)is for patients with severe chronic kidney disease. The process uses the patient's peritoneum in the abdomen as a membrane across which fluids and dissolved substances (electrolytes, urea, glucose, albumin and other small molecules) are exchanged from the blood.
m.t..o has got to be the most ignorant web site in the world. That is a wound vac and even if it wasnt does it make u feel superior to put this mans health issues on blast. Its not like u really care about his well being what u had no better news this morning. Once again staff at m.t.o have failed in gaining respect as a media source.
IF TRUE...its called a catheter (sp), thats #1, yall axxholes for pointing out as if he's some type of science project - and finally MTO ppl have constantly referenced your style of journalism (which ur not) and inability to attempt to use spellcheck. I submit to you today that for the nasty, smelly, putrid *** that u are just call in D*CK tomorrow. Noone would care...
That looks like a peritoneal dialysis drain. Maybe his kidney needs a little additional help with filtrations. Perhaps and hopefully so, this is just a temporary therapy. The collection tube is clear and looks to be originating from the navel area those are not the signs of a urostomy. It's P.D. dialysis I'am certain.
MTO IS SO STUPID I WORK IN DIALYSIS.FIRST BAGS ARE NOT USED TO EMPTY THE KIDNEYS.PEOPLE WITH KIDNEY FAILURE GET TREATMENT EITHER THREE TIMES A DAY AT A FACILITY OR IN THEIR HOME OR THEY DO WHAT IS CALLED PERITONEAL DIALYSIS AND THAT IS WHAT THAT BAG IS.FYI KIDNEYS ARE FILTERS YOU DON'T EMPTY ANYTHING OUT OF THEM YOU EMPTY FROM YOU BLADDER.THIS IS WHY MTO WILL NEVER BE TAKE SERIOUSLY.
Something tells me MTO plays mind trick with people. They can't be that dumb, lazy or so uninformed that they post *** and think its funny. IT is a catheter which allow drainage, or used to administer fluids to the body. Most people on dyalisis go through catherization monthly. If its not the catheter it could be a wound vac. ***, even wikipedia could have provided that info before posting.
I hope he's taking MUCH better care of himself than THIS pic shows, cuz PERITONITIS is deadly, and when doing an exchange, you almost *** near can't breathe, so I don't know WHY he's walking OUTSIDE with all that DIRT, DUST and GERMS with his catheter doing an exchange..... He needs to PLAN his day better, and he need's MORE nursing educations about his health IMMEDIATELY.... and at MTO...I'm like the others now - STFU - captioning pics is one thing... what yall doing is beyond foolish journalism.... I would SPELL it wrong so your editors could understand it, but my education WON'T allow me
that is what happens when "all that drinking goes wrong"..i love tracy morgan and i think he is really funny..but it looks love to drink, like sloppy drunk type of drinking and that will kill ya..i know that he has children and family that loves him and he and bobby brown need to seek treatment for their alcohol abuse problems..this is sad.
I wish him well...I love Tracy Morgan. I remember when I met him when I was a child. He was cool, not so animated like u see him sometimes, kept referring to me as Minnie Mouse, lol...He wasn't super-star Tracy then like he is now...I hope he's okay, & continues to do well, he's come along way career wise & we need him around for a LONG time!
MTO, you have really reached a new low. You have the most ignorant, morally bankrupt group of employees ever!
His health is clearly at risk, and if any of you morons took the time to do some research, you could find out that he is not "peeing out of his side". He is using a form of peritoneal dialysis, which means the transplant was not a full success.
Do you have a bunch of people working there wearing mouth guards and helmets? Hope what he is dealing with does not happen to someone in your family that you care about.
An indwelling urinary catheter is used for drainage of urine from the bladder through a tube that's inserted through the urethra. This makes uh no sense btw because usually for patient privacy, the bag would be taped in the inside of his pants. Why would he expose his catheter bag? That is just ridiculous MTO
This is so IGNORANT of you MTO to post without even knowing what you are talking about! First off, it's not a pee bag- it's a Peritoneal Catheter, which is placed in your lower abdomen for use for DIALYSIS- NOT to pee. I was on the same sort of dialysis before I received my kidney transplant.
I wouldn't make fun of him either, it's not a life I would wish on anyone and he has to do dialysis to stay alive.
C'mon MTO... Let me drop some knowledge. Some kidney transplants can be done laparoscopically (small incision), some require the body to be straight up cut open. The black bag holds the vac (vacuum) and its connected to a wound he has. It's called a "wound vac" and its used to help wound heal (close) faster.
PD Dialysis or a cath... neither are permanent and for most patients that have had kidney problems these treatments are quite common... often that means that if there was a problem with a transplant or some other kind of treatment the problem as caught early and theses simple NON surgical treatments will take care of the problem. Best wishes Tracy!
@MsApple31,for your information,a wound -vac does not go inside the wound.A special piece of foam is cut to fit the shape of your wound. The foam covers and protects the wound. It also keeps the wound moist so the wound can heal, and it soaks up drainage. Then a tube is put into the foam. It connects the foam to a small machine (the therapy unit). A large bandage is then put over the wound area. The therapy unit creates suction. This suction pulls drainage and loose tissue out of the wound, and pulls the edges of the wound closer together. The dressing is usually changed every two or three days. But this depends on how much drainage is coming from your wound, and whether there is infection in the wound.
MTO YALL ARE WRONG!! I AM A NURSE AND THAT DEVICE IS A WOUND VAC AND IT IS USED TO SUCK EXCESS BLOOD AND DRAINAGE FROM WOUNDS TO PROMOTE HEALING. ANYONE CAN HAVE THIS DEVICE FOR WOUNDS IF IT IS NEEDED. ITS NOT RELATED ONLY TO A KIDNEY TRANSPLANT. IT IS NOT FOR URINE DRAINAGE!! IT IS NOT TO BE USED FOR AN EXTENDED AMOUNT OF TIME. YALL GONNA MAKE ME START TO WONDER ABOUT SOME OF YOUR POSTINGS!
