Lord LOL...Creoles can be French, African American, and Indian or Spanish, African American and Indian - at least the ones that come out of Lousisiana and Texas are. They are normally referred to as Lousiana Creoles even if they aren't originlly from LA like Beyonce's mom because they usually have roots that go back to LA. Then you have the Haitian Creoles. In the States I think you find alot of those types in Florida. With that said, just being mixed doesn't make you Creole. Creole is a culture. My mom is mixed but not Creole.

First no her mother isn't creole and I have this say this because I have a real creole background. Not all creole people have lighter complexions. Some are dark. Creole is also a language. With all seriousness, why do blacks care so much about specifying a certain breed of mixed race? I have native and white ancestry(as do millions of others Americans), but i identify myself as African-American. All this "Frenchmen," "creole," "mullato" etc. were all old slave terms. We get upset if were called anything but "African-American" by other races, but classify each other by silly mixed breed titles, skin tone and, at times, desserts(chocolate, caramel, pecan tan). There is nothing wrong with disclosing other ethnicities within your bloodline. You wouldnt be here without them.

this is how I see it. If you have 2 parents 1 black and the other black then you are indeed black. If you have a parent mixed black and the other black then you are indeed BLACK
You look black, your parents are black and society will see and view you as black even though you have other races within your family.
Not all mixed people are light skinned with curly hair and light eyes. So its not impossible for someone whom is darker to be mixed

Why all the "Creole Hate'? I'm straight uip Creole, and proud-but that dose NOT mean that I am any less proud of being an african American! It's a culture, language and yes, at times certain physical traits due to inter-mixing with other creoles that look the same. Why the Beyonce hate? She doesn't even claim to be Creole like that anyway. In the majority of her interviews that I've seen she's always referred to herself as being black or African American. Solange even refers to her son as being African American. The most vocal Beyonce has been about her Creole side is in her song called Creole that many probably haven't even heard.
Beyonce's mom however is quick to acknowledge being Creole because she is, and there's nothing wrong w/that. All Creole is is a culture. It doesn't mean she's denying her AA side. Alot of the Creoles I've been around don't deny being part black or African American at all.

when i once lived in miami florida there was a small section in town called little haiti and the haitians spoke creole which i learned just a little to speak.now i have never heard of someone being creole and i googled "is creole a language or culture"and still it explains about languages and the culture that speaks creole,perhaps i'm overlooking something?
