Also, many old school Italians do not recognize Sicilians as "real" Italians. I worked with one who used to call a fellow Italian Sicilian and try to act like it was different than Italian because they were darker people.
It really depends on the individuals but most people on this planet aren't pure race period, as much as some cultures still try and make the distinction because of their own ignorance or attempts at division.

As someone who LIVES in Europe i can confirm yes they are considered white and yes they look it lmao..... There isn't a separate ethnic box for Italian on the census. Is it that difficult to separate nationality from race? I have never met an Italian person who looked black. Unless of course they were second or first generation African Immigrants.
