Looks like a few pounds lost accompanied by a body shaper. The before and after pics have different fitting clothes, so it's not real proof. So because shes "thick," that means she did it the old fashion way unlike the women who lost it all over? She was at a size that qualified for a gastric bypass, not the others. Jill Scott looks nice when she is successful at battling the bulge I hope she can continue to loose weight if that is her desire, but in the past she has gained it all back like Janet Jackson. If she keeps off the pounds I think she will discover a whole new inspiration to her creating and writing music. But unfortunately she has to lose weight in order to market herself to the masses. Talent isn't enough, Jill Scott is playing in small venues, The other artist sellout concerts,stadiums. She needs to lose weight in order to market herself. Talent alone is not enough. I'm not saying she needs to go Super model but she needs to lose a good 20 to 25 pounds. If she does this she could probably get more movie roles instead of the supporting roles like the fat wife or the best friend. She looks good now,, But she would look better if she lost some more. People can say real women have curves, But Superstars don't look like the average woman, and the reason is that most of the media and public hold certain celebrities to a higher plateau. Superstars are not supposed to look average ergo fit and tone, small frame bodies, Jill looks good but she looks average. Their are a lot of women that have better bodies than her. This is why some fans and media outlets are saying she needs to lose weight. Remember when you are in the industry "*** SELLS" There should be no way in hell that Kim Kardashian makes more money than Jill Scott, but it is happening. Let me join the minority and offer some calm, collected thoughts on Jill's pic up there.
*If you have large boobs, losing weight does not always make them shrink. I've known many women who have lost weight and the cup size stayed the same. When puberty hits some girls, they'll go from flat to DD cups and never gain a pound.
*If Jill is wearing Spanx or any girdle, then I applaud her even more. Many of our good women (and men) think that jiggling & lumpiness is sexy. Spanx is a smoother, and isn't just for big girls. Some women who are size 4 should utilize such hardware.
*In the eyes of some, Jill still is a Big Girl. In the eyes of others, she's just fat. That's most likely fine by Jill because she's beautiful to herself first. The rest of our opinions are likely secondary.
*JHud does look good and is happy with herself as well. The rest of our opinions are likely secondary.
*Everyone isn't meant to be skinny.
So in closing, some of you should try being positive for a change. I understand the internet gives many of you a place to be negative and ignorant since the real world is too hard to handle. But as for Jill, love her or hate her, she looks and most likely feels great.
